Alright James
Tbf to JJ, he was the one who stated that Lukaku would be the no#1 target last summer before everyone else.
But we don't have much use for another overpaid LW apart from the fact that he can't play much worse than Sanchez right now.

Alright James
I was gonna ask if we thought Mou knows what a RW is, but then remembered he just played Eto'o and Mata, etc. there anyway. I think we might just go another season without anyone in that position.
Smalling, Jones/Lindelof, Blind, Darmian out.
Valencia, Fosu, Toby, Sokratis, Baily, Rojo, Young and Sandro as defenders next season.

I imagine it'll look something like this:

---------------Pogba------------
Pulisic---------------------Bale
Dembele-Lukaku-Neymar
Like a £700m boot stomping down on the opposing club's dignity and confidence.

Outrageous. I shall write a letter. That PornHubPaul really grinds my gears.
Kind of sad to see so many Napoli fans and journalists throwing Sarri under the bus so soon. I especially love how for the past three years everything was about 'il bel gioco' and now people are posting Carletto's trophy lists every chance they get, because winning titles is suddenly all that counts.
Not a voltagabbana behaviour that's exclusive to Napoli fans, of course. Our crowd would be doing exactly the same thing. Still amusing to see.

By Pennywise Go To PostFrancis pls.No, I've read it - just figured we aren't getting both. Happy as can be if that does happen. Sokratis is a fine defender.
Haven't you read what I wrote?
Both Kicker and WAZ were reporting that United are going for Sokratis. Mou already contacted someone, so I suppose unless Arsenal makes the better offer, it's gonna be Bailly/Sokratis/Alderweireld.
Time to load off the rest.
I also agree with your last sentence but I'm not so sure Mourinho will. When you consider how much trust he's put in the likes of Smalling/Jones throughout this past season (and then taking out his frustration on Bailly towards the end) I'd be rather surprised if he suddenly were to bin them.
Or maybe he simply disliked them the least out of his available options.

Sokratis will be rather cheap, so the option to sign both is certainly there.
Also depends on what kind of pairings you're wanna focus on. I already described Sokratis once and you certainly need someone beside him, that knows how to play a long ball or create some element of suprise.
If you got two CBs that don't know what to do and you've got plenty of posession, it's pretty dreadful to look at.
Well, we're gonna see what will happen in the next few days.
Kicker is also reporting that several clubs are interested in Lewandowski. Chelsea, United, PSG,

What would Bayern realistically ask for a 30 year old Lewandowski?
His scoring rate is outstanding but that's obviously been a bit tinted with the quality he was surrounded with and facing.
If he's positioning for a move, it's clearly all about that last big payoff, which makes sense. Things have changed a lot with contracts since he signed that extension a few years ago and he's really, really good. But no one should be entertaining some of the numbers being tossed around for him. €80-100m+? Get the fuck out of here.

Some thoughts.
I am really happy with us getting Emery. He plays good football, has a winning pedigree, and has experience at a big club. I wanted him last week when it was clear he would be available. He comes to us with more trophies than anyone not named Pep or Jose. He demands respect and his appointment is great.
People seem to be laughing about Arsenal saying he was the unanimous choice. I don't see what is wrong with that. Board contacted him when he became available, liked him, and hired him. Allegri might have been first choice, but the board was not going to make contact with him or anyone who was still under contract. When Emery became available we quickly made the move, and the board should be praised for this.
I have also seen comments about we should have waited for Sarri. I like the guy. He is very pragmatic. He played great defensive football at Empoli, and then was able to change to playing great attacking football at Napoli. I would love an Italian manager, but I still think we made the right choice with Emery. Sarri has been in the game for 30 years, but only really hit it big the last five years with Empoli and Napoli. I think the important thing for Arsenal right now is someone who has that winning mentality. I hope Sarri goes to Chelsea because I think he could really shine with a group of winners already.
Ancelotti to Napoli will be very interesting. I think this will be Ancelotti's first job in twenty plus years with a team that has no real winning pedigree. For Napoli he is a great appointment because he brings that winning mentality, and you have to feel his name alone we persuade a few of the players who might be thinking about leaving to stay for another year. Inzaghi would have been the smart choice to continue the Napoli style of play we have grown to play, but Carlo will bring a lot to this team. Just got to hope the team isn't broken up.

If you were to pick the two teams I would not want facing each other, then Liverpool and Madrid would be them. If Liverpool win then the Shanks anti-Klopp spin will need to go into mega drive ;p. If Madrid win then we will have to listen to Ronaldo go on about how he is the greatest. Plus, this has been arguably the worst performing RM side of recent years and they are still in another final. Just ain't fair lol

They looked like piss in long stretches of those games. They were fucking awful against Juve in Italy and even worse as t home against us, but when you have a player like Ronaldo then that is all you need.
I fully expect Liverpool to dominate the game and still lose 3-0.
