So basically Arteta wants to have more say over staff and other matters?
He ain't Pep. Should have taken a season to work within the confines of those matters before making more demands.

By Meier Go To PostFady would prefer to keep Conte over bringing in Sarri due to his lack of trophies. What say you, Slaent? I'd definitely prefer this but trying to look at it from a purely objective point of view, I don't even see a scenario where Conte can even continue there regardless of who replaces him. He's burned too many bridges this season. I would not be excited about Sarri moving to Chelsea, that's for sure.If I oversaw a club that had never worked with either and my goal was to win trophies in the short-term, I'd choose Conte. But that isn't the situation. His relationship with the players and club has become poisonous. That mutinous squad won't succeed with him there; it's likely only to get worse.
Sarri is appealing to a club like Chelsea for a few reasons: he orchestrates beautiful football, he nurtures young talent, and he's loved by his players. He's the perfect antidote to get over Mou and Conte, even if he hasn't won the trophies yet.
By Laboured Go To PostFucking have some of that Flabber.Fucking scorched, m8. I've learned my lesson for having an excellent manager who's made me excited to watch my club play football.
By FootbalIFan Go To PostAspas is better. Maybe not at corners, otherwise, better.Didn't realize he was 30 -- would not have guessed that. He really has been fantastic for them and it's well deserved. The other Spanish fella who was at Liverpool then has come quite good since leaving as well.
Europa League is there for the taking for English clubs. Decent way into CL with the strength of the top 6, and it's a good cup to win, get some cup winning momentum for your side. Not saying that's why they signed Emery but I think it should be prioritized.

Arteta has literally zero first team coaching exp on any level. Comparing him to Emery is like comparing Dean to Brad Pitt.

Would Fady take back Mou. Got us to 2nd this season and won 3 cups for United last year.
Well one is a plate, but it matters when it was against the best club in the EPL of the previous season.

Vieira to Nice is reportedly done. Interesting to see how he gets on. They’re losing Balotelli and Seri, at minimum.

By NinjaFridge Go To PostIf the football was that good you never would've went with the figure skating.Well, figure skating is simply better than football. That's just a fact that comes with living in the cosmos.
Also, our owner is a prick who set the club up to fail. 🤷🏻♀️
Apparently Mou will be going with 3(!) assistant coaches next season. McKenna, Carrick and Spaletti will all three organise and run first team training. Probably in different aspects of play.
Sounds interesting, but the problem remains that Mou isn't exactly having the best of relationships with a lot of the players. Maybe they'll patch things up during the summer.
Well the best is a meltdown and we get a new manager before the season starts, but the chances of that happening are unfortunately low, when Woodward loves Mou.

It's not my fault italians love to end surnames with a -tti
By Plasma Go To PostHappy enough with Emery the only thing that worries me is that he isn't fluent in english.
It's ok, he still speaks the beautiful language of football.
Whilst Emery has a decent track record, it seems a bit like the worst of both worlds for Arsenal since there were still gettable managers that had both a decent record and potential to exceed expectations. Even if top managers like Allegri or Jardim turned down Arsenal, you would still think a Howe or a Rodgers would be a better pick than Emery
No I'm not having that we can't be giving Vieira's/Fabregas'/Mertesacker's number to a squad player.
On Darmian, I hate him when he plays for United but he looks good in the NT. Maybe it's LVG / Mou's fault, or maybe that little fucker only tries when it's for Italians.
Please take him. Just have a chef ready to boil his eggs when he requests it.

Regarding Conte vs Sarri
Its hard to say. Nobody other than Juve is winning serie A for another 2 seasons, so its hard and unfair to blame Sarri there. Conte is a "proven" winner but im sure Sarri would be too with a better squad or if he wasn't in Serie A. Its safer to keep Conte but I'd prefer Sarri over him, especially considering that Chelsea players are putting emojis over him to cover him up in photos lol.
My main concern would be, he has been brilliant at Napoli but that is his love. Who knows how he would do in some London football club.

To be honest I dont see any manager doing good for Chelsea until they clear up the problem players. Conte is culpable for the meltdown this season but they are full of big name divas that it will be hard for a manager to hold their trust for long.
By n8 dogg Go To PostWhy is Jardim love weird? Has a track record in a way that should appeal to a lot of what arsenal want.
By rvy Go To Postthis is now peak brexitMy point is not that Jardim isn’t a good manager. My point is that him being many people’s first choice with coaches like Conte and even Emery openly available implies something slightly cultish happening.
Nobody mentioned those other managers but jump on Jardim whenever there’s a vacancy. It’s not clear why.
Wasn't Conte's main gripe with the Chelsea board over (hard to get) transfer targets?
I don't see how a £50m transfer budget would convince him Arsenal was his next step.

I am curious about Lewandowski and this summer. I feel like his star has faded since he really shit the bed when it counted for Bayern this season, but he still scored an absolute ton of goals. He'll be 30 at the start of next season and if he moves somewhere this will be his last big contract.
Emery going from signing Neymar and Mbappe last summer to working within Arsenal's budget. Not easy.
The Conte situation is not the same though I understand why you would draw parallels.

I assume Lewandowski would be open to the move given that it’s been put into the public sphere. Interesting.

Flabber, where is Neapel's figure skating club heading, top of the crop or are they being screwed by the judges?
By inky Go To PostWasn't Conte's main gripe with the Chelsea board over (hard to get) transfer targets?Yes. But if you follow and get your opinions from Twitter accounts with names like @Conteholic you believe that all it takes is money to convince both a player to join and a club to sell. Also, spending £250m on new players isn't support.

Supporters just don't want to face facts that some times new players don't work out. Just easier to play the, well if ______ would have been signed game.

I know it's on the SBNation thing but most lads involved in it are local. The podcast was recorded today in Sunderland. Dunno if it's the full hour, I'm only 15 mins in.
Emery is a fine choice for the job. Allegri would be the dream, but that looks like it's fallen through.
That is the collective screening; there is also a private showing. When he was at Valencia, Emery gave each player his own pen drive with images and information on the men they would be facing. He suspected that one player was not bothering to do his “homework” – he will not say who it was but it was not Joaquín – so one week he gave him a blank pen drive. “‘Did you see it?’ ‘Yes, don’t worry boss’. And it was empty.” These days at Sevilla the individualised analyses, videos that are three or four minutes long, are done with the players in the final hour before the game.https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/27/sevilla-manager-europa-league-final-unai-emery
