Nainggolan won’t be called up for Belgium.
RIP.
Or rather, he’s not featured in the preliminary squad which will be presented officially tomorrow.
I can’t wait for Martínez to include the likes of Axel Witsel.

You know I wasn't sure about Arsenal appointing Arteta but now Gallas has come out and said he doesn't think he would be a good appointment I'm completely on board with it.

I hope that's still at least good 6-7 years away
Mourinho ideally wants to bring in five new players this summer but knows the truncated transfer window, which is compounded by the month long World Cup finals in Russia, will reduce the time to complete deals and make acquiring such numbers increasingly difficult. They include two full backs, a centre-half, a midfielder and a winger.
The United manager will also be under pressure to offload peripheral players, such as Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind, to accommodate space on the wage bill and avoid a bloated squad.
If Marouane Fellaini fails to agree a new contract, Mourinho would be left needing two midfielders following the retirement of Michael Carrick, a scenario which could impact on plans to strengthen elsewhere.

United are working on a deal for Fred, Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazil midfielder, whom City tried to sign in January. City are thought to have now turned their sights to Jorginho, the Napoli and Italy midfielder, which could assist United’s pursuit of Fred although Shakhtar want £52.5 million.
United have also been linked with left-backs Alex Sandro, of Juventus, and Tottenham’s Danny Rose, as well as Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld, Chelsea winger Willian and Real Madrid centre-half Raphael Varane. Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri has been offered to all the Premier League’s top six.
However, Mourinho’s chequered record in the transfer market since taking over at Old Trafford does not inspire confidence and the manager must address a series of issues within his existing squad.
Victor Lindelof has endured an unconvincing debut season since his £30.7 million move from Benfica last summer and was omitted from the FA Cup final squad altogether.
Another centre-half, Eric Bailly, a £30.4 million recruit from Villarreal in 2016, has been strangely frozen out since returning from a long injury lay-off and has made just five starts since February, despite being widely regarded as the best defender at the club. Team-mates have been left bemused by Bailly’s persistent omissions and Mourinho’s claims that he was giving more playing time to those defenders who had a chance of going to the World Cup failed to convince some.
Left back Luke Shaw has never won Mourinho’s trust and his future is shrouded in uncertainty with his career at a crossroads.
Paul Pogba’s form has plummeted since the turn of the year and it cannot be discounted that Mourinho would consider cashing in on the France midfielder if Paris St-Germain made a huge offer this summer.
Anthony Martial’s relationship with Mourinho is also strained and Juventus head a queue of clubs, including Spurs, who are interested in signing the France forward. Martial’s omission from the France squad for the World Cup may force him to consider his options with the player – a substitute in the Cup final – not getting regular starts.
[…]
Other changes are also expected behind the scenes with Mourinho due to hire Italian fitness coach Stefano Rapetti from Sampdoria in the wake of Rui Faria’s departure as assistant manager. Rapetti worked with Mourinho at Inter Milan. Kieran McKenna, United’s Under-18 coach, could also be promoted to the first team set up.

Jamie Jackson says Mou could be looking at replacing Martial with... Justin Kluivert.
On a more positive note, he’d like to replace both Valencia and Young.
Smalling might end up being sold as well.

does jamie jackson actually, truly, honestly believe that mourinho, now that the pressure is as high as it has ever been, could be looking at replacing martial with... a 19 year old eredivisie player who's played maybe five decent games in total.

Might as well buy Willian, Terry and other Mou capable 30+ year-olds.

It's irresponsible for any club that needs a manager not to consider Sarri.
I have no doubt, for example, that he could make Arsenal interesting and competitive again.

Can we get rid of Mou, get a new manager in who knows how to utilise these attacking players and not have to consider getting rid of our more talented players.

well... the kid is a raiola client.
but still, that's ridiculous. depay was better when he joined united, and he still flopped.

Justin Kluivert has been rumored to be for United since well, early on this season. It's something that has come up over and over again.
edit: Anyway, looks like he's just a potential for now. Nothing about Mou really wanting him for the position in that article.

The future of Anthony Martial remains in doubt, as his 13-minute cameo as a replacement against Chelsea underlined, so the manager is also targeting a new attacker. Ajax’s Justin Kluivert is one potential replacement. While 10 goals in 30 league games for a 19-year-old wide-forward is impressive, he lacks the experience Matic cites.

Lukaku probably was torn on giving his all in this FA cup final, and face the risk of aggravating his injury just before the World Cup.

Matić said he didn't speak with any of the players following the final whistle, but went straight home.
Apparently the upper hierarchy had planned some kinda shindig to "celebrate" the end of the season and he was a no-show there too. Gone on holiday.
I don't really blame him... though it's a bit ominous.

We need a director to have a hand in player turnover and to hire or sack managers based on an attacking philosophy. Woodward has done his job from a spending perspective, but United are a 100% back the manager club so managers could cause useful players or useless players to stay/leave.
I blame Woodward for being reactive and too safe with managers.

Ominous is good.
And yeah, for all the good United has done regarding its management the fact that we still dont hire a director of football in 2018 is fucking stupid.
Will that aggravate some managers? Probably, but they need to fucking get with the times. They are now in an environment where the shelf life of a manager is at most 3, 4 years.
