There was a point where Alexis passes Pogba the ball and he makes a run a way from it after the ball is already in motion towards him, stops, throws his arms up and stares at Alexis.
He ain't right, not gonna get right either in the WC if he comes back to Mou. Wonderful.

Mou seemed lost in how to crack open a turtling Chelsea after they scored.

The fact that they went wide to attempt crosses, only to see that the Chelsea players tower United's attackers was hilarious.

You gotta take risks to make it in this world.
Not going to argue with that analysis of Pogba. But I’m just going to say again, that Wijnaldum is - based on actual footballing evidence over the past two seasons - a better central midfielder currently.
Pogba might fulfill his massive potential. Might have an amazing season next year. But based on actual performances isn’t as effective.
Good move for Hoffenheim getting Meyer. Follow a few Arsenal accounts and they all thought he was a given to join them.

Wijnaldum is a decent CM and benefiting from playing a good team.

Pogba will be good at the World cup.
Then come back to United and flop.

The elusive, probably personal, definition of "effective" here is doing a staggering amount of heavy lifting.

And temporary form is extremely presumptuous given you’re basically saying his entire United 2.0 career is yet to properly begin.
By Laboured Go To PostThe elusive, probably personal, definition of "effective" here is doing a staggering amount of heavy lifting.Maintain a rhythm of the game, keep possession, create opportunities for attackers and of course score goals (which Pogba definitely excels at). If you don’t do the first two you can’t really be buzzing about the latter two, and Wiji is far better at them than Pogba.
On current temporary evidence.

I get it, I agree that this season Wijnaldum has been a better central midfielder than Pogba. It's not about potential, because Pogba has that in spades or ability, which no one with the right mind will say that Wij is better.
But considering Wijnaldum has been consistent, and most importantly performed better from the start of a match is the difference.
Not to say Pogba hasn't had some good games. He has, plenty. Still you have to give Wij the nod ahead simply because he has been consistent.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostPogba is 25. For how much longer will we be talking about him under the lens of “potential”?27-28.
There is no problem with Pogba, the fault is 100% with Mou and his style of play.

Whatever, they had plenty of ref decisions in finals and important games that were false and helped Bayern massively, so it's great to see them getting fucked.
They had their league celebration in the city today, which was hilarious. It's always rather quiet, but this year the players were so damn pissed.
Hummels didn't even want to attend.
God, I still remember the interview from him and Lewa, were they both said they wanted to get into a CL final again and yet, they only gotten into a final with Dortmund.
What a time.

Exactly, that isn’t want Pogba is about.
You don’t spend 100 million on a player and then expect him to do a job he has never done before.
Reading that Liew article made me laugh. Glad he said about Walcott being a Hold r2 and run in a straight line fifa player because that is what I have been saying for years.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostEvery available metric measuring performance disagrees.Or you could use your brain and examine Pogba's pass accuracy versus Wijnaldum's?
(To save you precious energy, 84% versus 89% in the league this season - and that's kinder to Pogba because a number isn't nearly as embarrassing as the actual passes Pogba seems to miss)
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostThere is no problem with Pogba, the fault is 100% with Mou and his style of play.

This I agree with.
The fault isn't really with Pogba. He just isn't a strict central midfielder. He's great at playing slightly further forward and in a role with less responsibility to run the tempo of the game.
And it also doesn't help that Pogba played central midfield for United's youth sides.

Pass percentage is not a good way to look at Pogba. He is a player who is meant to try and create magic. Those passes don’t always pay off.
Even Messi is down at 82

That's not what he's great at. But he's being played as a central midfielder under Mourinho and my entire view of him as a United player is in this role (which is fair), so in that respect pass percentage is a hugely important factor for me to judge him.
And in the context of who I was replying to it was about Pogba as a central midfielder.
I don't for a second think Wijnaldum is a better attacking player than Pogba. Key passes, assists and goals are Pogba's bread and butter. He just needs a proper midfield behind him.
By FlutterPuffs Go To Post27-28.Sounds reasonable enough.
Anyway, I agree with what Shanks said. The last two seasons has stalled Pogba’s career and the fault is entirely with Mourinho. Would take him over Wijnaldum 100% of the time if I was building a squad.

He really does need good midfield next to him. A holding mid and box to box playing around him would do wonders. Plus, Pogba works great with attacking fullbacks.

Fortunately I don't think we're actually in for Talisca, given the sources and the way the Portuguese press usually play these things (i.e. Gaitan-ing). This is about upping the bids of the clubs that are actually in for him.
