By Oddinho Go To PostReads like a hit piece by Abramovich to put the blame squarely on Conte. I just can’t believe that he would continue freezing out star players without any contingency plan. Article tries to blame him for losing Costa when he had been angling for a transfer long before the fabled text message story came out, and fails to mention the lack of quality signings from the board over the Summer. Morata never sounded like a good idea, especially for the price demanded, and Chelsea otherwise hasn’t brought in anyone deserving of a first team spot since Kante.
It certainly is. For the... idk how many times this is now... the Chelsea players are completely absolved of blame for dropping standards massively after one good season. Nice work if you can get it.
Who are they going to sell to boost that as well? Maybe they get 20 for Elneny or something? Who else is extraneous?
By Zabojnik Go To PostYou only say this because you fear losing him. You thought he'd become a true GOAT at Barca. Secretly, you still do.Nope. He has had 50 good minutes this season.
Just admit it, FF. This is a safe environment.
Hey, FF, want a good laugh?
That idiotic cunt Auriemma is suggesting that we'll send Hamsik to China and replace him with Andre Gomes.

Hamsik had a massive dip in form when he got really close to the goals record(surely got to his head), but he is miles better than gomes and plays completely differently. Not sure how that idea would even come up haha.

m8, stop talking about foortball and go to the Marx thread.
By Plasma Go To PostRamsey and Bellerin are the two that keep getting talked about that we're open to selling.I'd take Bellendrin if we sell Hysaj this summer. Sarri would revive his career, just like Allegri will revive Darmian's.

I've been holding out hope we'd get another contributor or two before responding, but the thread could certainly use a bump.
Part of me can't believe that any top manager would be willing to go into the Arsenal job when only given £50m to play with.
By Arnie Go To PostConte piece should be gold.
Nonsense on the above Odd. We are Champions League finalists with one of the most impressive sides in the world, and not just the attack (Van Dijk is a huge part of our overall team). And on wages it’s not like Dembele is demanding £200k per week (which we do pay to our top earners), he’s still young and would no doubt come in at a far lower deal.
Dembele is a talent but he’s not the finished article. He’s not Alexis Sanchez, where I agree our wage structure would prevent us from signing.
Look at the people we’ve brought in. We don’t attract guys from places like Barca or Real, we get them from clubs one rung or more below us and sell ourselves as the stage to put their potential to use. Dembele maybe a special case given how young he is, but I just don’t see this happening.
Not saying we can’t or won’t get good players. We will I suspect, Michael Edwards and Klopp have been a great team as director and manager, with Klopp trusting his judgment on players like Salah, and Edwards going the extra mile to bring in the ones Klopp sets as first priority like Van Dijk.
Honestly Dembele is attitude city, I’m not even sure he’d do well at a club that demands of its players what we do

By Freewheelin Go To PostI still don't believe the budget is £50m
But Ornstein said "we are told" it must be fact.
The guy is a hack.
One minute he is writing about the owners wanting to show ambition and get success and the next he is talking about 50 million. A sum that has been pulled out of most journalists' arses for a decade.
I think the 50m transfer kitty does make sense considering the huge contract renewal for Ozil, and paying for Mkhi and Auba's transfers.
By ATTICUS H Go To PostArsenal should get a bunch of bosmans, innitWilshere.
who is available?
Considering how Chelsea has been managed Arsenal should try and get either Kurt Zouma or Luiz done.
It's only fair.

Seriously, they need to replace Kos and they need to replace him this summer.

Not even Ornstein is sacred any longer (when the news is bad).
By GQman2121 Go To PostWe do love a good £50m deal…Yeah, and with the Achilles injury that's probably the most important position to fill.

Could see City selling Denayer to Arsenal at a budget price if Arteta gets the job though. Seems like they are parting on good terms.
Carvalhal has "left" Swansea.
While on the subject of managers, Pellegrini is now the leading candidate for West Ham.

Would love Dembele. Think adding attacking additions in the summer might be even more important than defence/DM.

I hope nobody goes for Dembele so that Greasemen stays at Atletico.
25m in rumoured new wages, brand new stadium, off the heals of a European cup, one of the best coaches, bound to entice new talent coming in while offloading the likes of Torres and Co. and have a great chance to win more titles. I know Greasemen wants the CL trophy, he's said so himself that it's his main target but it's not like Atletico don't have a good chance at it. Quite the pickle really.

Some sources have also stated the Emirates hierarchy are conscious of supporter doubt about appointing a man - albeit a former player - whose only coaching experience is two years as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City, so want to be able to announce what can be billed as a high-quality coaching team.
The Independent reported on Tuesday that there is likely to be a role for current midfielder Santi Cazorla, who Arteta knows well, and the same sources are now stating that there may even be a place for Thierry Henry.
