The Pep news has given me a stunning, prolonged erection.
Also, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry regarding France’s strength. They’re in Australia’s group alongside Peru and Denmark at the WC. Mainly tears really. The mere fact Laporte can’t get a shirt when he would be Australia’s out and out best player is horrifying. I can’t articulate how fucking shit Australia will be. We couldn’t even beat fucking Iraq in qualifying. Iraq.

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostHang on what's the difference between Mahrez and Lemar as forwards.Mahrez is a regular goalscorer. Lemar had a good season in 16/17 but otherwise his career high is 5 goals and this year he only managed 3. If you can't score goals regularly, you're not going to play as a forward for City. The competition is too fierce. He might be able to slot in as an attacking mid, but he'd come into the team at around 5th in that position's pecking order. City will try and sign another goal scoring forward (not necessarily a striker) and then a proper CM. Pep has repeatedly said 1-2 players this summer. I would be surprised if that's accurate, but I would bet my house that Lemar wouldn't be one of them. No need and no place for him.

By FootbalIFan Go To PostPoor MartialShould have tried to leave last season when he had the chance. Utd are undoubtedly thrilled at this. This is saving them a shitload of money! 3 caps in the last 2 years -- almost certain that he won't get to the 25 threshold (he's at 18) that was going to trigger a €10m add-on before they finally sell him.

we make that during a woodward wank
By Pennywise Go To PostAnd yet, a good performance could have brought more clubs to the table. If they want to sell Martial, they will find countless suitors regardless of him being at the WC or not. They'll make a profit off him just because the transfer market has continued to increase so much since they bought him.
This kid must be something special.
By n8 dogg Go To Postlike we give a shit about ten millionI think you'll try and shift him and saving £8.7m is a decent chunk of change. Gives more freedom when selling and/or replacing him. Money is sort of no issue to Utd, but these guys are still pragmatic even if they're operating at a different level.

If we sell Martial we better be throwing £300,000 at (Ouzo) Dembele. I've done the math this is realistic.

Yep, but only because we’re desperate. He’s 38 years old.
By Mangoverboard Go To PostTim Cahill still playing? Scored the best goal at the last WCHe was at Melbourne City but wasn't getting regular minutes this season so they let him leave. He moved to Milwall and it looks like he scored 0 goals for them. I imagine they hope he can win a header or two.. probably not a lot of competition at CF for Australia.
Just looked up Melbourne City and I didn't realize they lost Ross McCormack for the last few months of the season. He was banging them in which was why Cahill left. Guess he was on loan and returned to Villa.

No Gomes, Semedo, Nani, Renato and Eder. Coentrao said he wasn't good enough anymore, lol.
Lots of experience but not sure they have the talent to make a good run. If their backline comes through with a special tournament performance then they may just knick something but I doubt it.

That is an appalling idea if true.
Pls be true

Gomes is in awful run of form, Renato has been injured most of the season and he was shit when he played, Nani is old and there was no room for him with Bernardo Silva, Gelson, Gonçalo Guedes and Quaresma all having great seasons.
It's true that Éder scored the winning goal in the Euro but he has 4 goals in 33 caps, André Silva scored 9 in 10 in the qualification.
Our CBs are the weaker part, our midfield and attack has a good mix of experience and younger talent.
I think Bruno Fernandes will surprise some people.

whatever m8s, Arsenal are now a club where there will be managers in and out the door in very quick succession. So I'm just gonna enjoy the ride for the next few years.

I see Buffon has apologised to Michael Oliver. Jolly good. Let’s pretend that never happened then and remember him for the legend he is.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostI'd be amazed if we made a profit on Martial. You don't get to brag about revenue and sponsors and then act concerned about £10-20m in either direction for players transactions. Who really gives a shit at a certain point?

I don't care. I'm just saying I don't see us making a profit - he's a player that we want to sell and that wants to move. And though he's talented...for now that's all he is. Don't see teams piling in with huge bids. He can go free for all I care.

Buffon only apoligised in that he shouldn’t have gone on the way he did after the game.
Buffon still thinks Oliver fucked him over though in the game. So Buffon has learnt nothing at all.
