By bud Go To Posti think kermit is the only poster in this thread who is consistently rude and condescending towards others. he did the same thing in the gaf thread.
I only chip back at people who have a go at me. I never initiate personal sparring matches with posters, it’s just that a few posters here hold a grudge from my GAF days (which was 6/7 years ago) and haven’t moved on. If people got beyond that we’d have no issue.

this is a guy who out of nowhere called arnie a midget several times. for no reason. and i also remember him mocking arnie by posting his picture here. a picture that he had found on google/facebook/whatever. weird.

Set for the year
MP games are too stressful to play consistently. Work 9 to 6:30 and my days are a sprint most of the time so competitive MP super isn’t attractive unless it’s groundbreakingly good.
I finished Nier: Automata the other day. It's pretty good. Graphics are poor on PS4 though, or maybe I've just been spoiled by GoW.
I started Persona 3 Portable a few months ago and haven't gotten around to finishing it. Tartarus sucks.
Can't remember the last time I played a competitive MP game. Think it might've been Destiny 2 when it came out.

This is not the case. Whilst with this specific post people are clearly piling on you specifically, a) there have been a few cases where you've taken aim at others without provocation (like with Arnie, a poster who has clearly ignored you yet you continue to attack) and b) most of the time people are just making jokes at Man City's expense which you seem to take as a personal attack. Time and again someone will poke fun at Guardiola, or Abu Dhabi or "Emptihad" or something else silly and you'll steam in throwing jabs left and right.
There are largely two types of football conversation here. The tribal rivalry, people taking the piss out of other clubs for whatever reason. But that's largely what it is, taking the piss. The average fan takes it on the chin and moves on. Maybe they throw back, but they can feel comfortable doing that because everyone here knows each other and are comfortable making fun without getting too personal. You've not earned that kind of trust because you escalate far too quickly and just don't have the respect of other posters.
The other kind of discussion is serious talk about the merits of a player, tactical discussion or similar. And if it's a serious discussion, why the fuxk would you want someone coming in insulting people and unable to take criticism?
I don't particularly care about situations like a), because some people just don't get on and in any case mods will take care of the worst excesses. But your inability to read the fucking mood is what leads to half the forum bad mouthing you.
There are certain conversations which are neither light hearted 'banter' nor sincere discussion. The worst of tribal mud slinging and pointless bickering. I think everyone knows what kind of events bring this out. You seem stuck permanently in this mode. You are el classico, the poster.

Oh but it is. When Arnie told me about this place, I came back after having no engagement with the community for 5 years or so and was met with instant hostility and scorn. There’s people here who I don’t engage because I don’t know who they are, yet they spit fire. There’s people here who don’t even remember my posting on GAF but pile on anyway. My issue is that I never fit in ‘with the lads’, never wanted to see pics of N8s cornhole and always rejected the circle-jerk.
And while some will argue I had it coming after my antogonistic posting history, that argument crumbles when you consider that DC and Meier are consistently mocked and talked down to, almost never bite back, but are treated poorly anyway.
And then you have heroes like GQ dreaming up situations of me being raped and you can kind of see why I don’t take the scorn lying down.
But your inability to read the fucking mood is what leads to half the forum bad mouthing you.
I admit, you’re probably right here. I can be overly sensitive regarding City. Too passionate. Makes it hard to take the cheap shots.

@Zabo, why do you think it's unlikely that Can is going to you?
He's fucking lucky to be signed by a club of your stature to be frank, he's still not quite good enough to be solidly in our first 11 and our deep midfield options are pretty average.
Sounds bitter and partially is, but his only run of truly great form was at the same time as Origi's brief flirtation with looking like a genuinely top class striker in the making. Maybe Serie A will suit him better though, and we'll always have that Watford goal.
edit: gotta be a cunt to beat a cunt innit

He’s getting better terms soon, when Firmino extended his contract the press were briefed that Salah and Mane would both get improved terms as well.
By etc Go To Post@Zabo, why do you think it's unlikely that Can is going to you?I'm just paraculing, I think it's very likely he's as good as signed already. We know our way around quality "parametro 0" players, as free agents are called in Italy. We usually start courting them long before anyone else and give them favourable terms as far as contracts go. Even if there's no ink on paper, it's pretty much assumed that we'll let them go when & where they choose to, at little to no cost. I can see us wanting to cover our asses in Emre Can's case though, seeing how he's still very young, unlike Pirlo, Khedira, Tevez, etc. Hence the rumoured release clause.

I'm not a big fan of Emre. However, seeing how we need to shed years off our midfield and hopefully get rid of dead wood like Sturaro in the process, at 0€ he's more than welcome to join Juve. It'll be all for naught if we don't sign an additional technical / quality midfielder as well tho. Marry por favor.

I basically made one post and ducked out but for manager of the year, I think Dyche is honestly the man who deserves the award the most. Late season achievements tend to stick out in the memory for obvious reasons, but Burnley have been excellent all year, with a mediocre team on a small budget, and do it without being overly negative. It’s a very straightforward hard-working team that is playing better than the sum of its parts.
Which is the key thing for me... I mentioned Hodgson and it’s a fair point that they were underperforming so badly that simply playing around the level they should be isn’t really worth special recognition. Fair enough.
But Klopp, Benitez, Poch and Dyche all have their teams playing above and beyond what you’d expect based purely on their players. And Guardiola may be the best manager among them all, but the way they went out meekly to Liverpool is a serious dent in his season as much as it is an achievement for Klopp and Liverpool.
On Klopp, being able to maintain a top 4 challenge while making it to the CL final is a combination of achievements that really shouldn’t go under appreciated. When was the last time an English team managed to do both? It’s a rare feat in the PL, in which even lower table teams will push you to the limit with their physicality.
As for Benitez, not only have Newcastle survived well with an absolutely garbage squad, they did it playing with an obvious and unconditional trust in the manager’s gameplan. He’s been fantastic for them this year.
Guardiola will win it and be a worthy winner for it but I don’t think it’s such a simple call as people are making it out to be.

I just don't know how you can really say Klopp got more out of this group than expected. Liverpool have the 5th highest wage and will most likely get fourth. That is exactly what you would be expecting from them. Liverpool's players are good and Klopp has pretty much delivered what you expect from those players.
For me Klopp just isn't that impressive, he is gonna deliver less points than last year with slightly more goals scored and a few less conceded. Nothing screams huge improvements. One minute Liverpool look like the best team on the planet, and five minutes later in the same game(let alone week to week) they look poor. I was expecting a bit more consistency from Liverpool this year and they just don't have that yet with Klopp.
Seems unfair to bring up CL participation being so hard, when Liverpool had pathetic cup runs and both Spurs and United are gonna be playing in a final themselves in a couple weeks. Di Francesco, one of my favourite coaches, has pretty much done the exact same job as Klopp this yearbook, and I think it is one of his weakest so far in Serie A. His side are far too inconsistet and he pretty much did about on par what you expect from Roma these days.

I honestly can’t tell when you’re being serious Shanks. Using Roma as a comparison... the way we absolutely mulched them should give you some reference on how Roma compare to Liverpool.
BTW FF, how will this season stack up in compared to some of the great Barcas campaigns?
Crazy that Barca are gonna go unbeaten, but it seems not many people are talking about it.

Did I talk about the quality of the two teams being the same? In their respective leagues they both have pretty much achieved the same things. Going deep in Europe and looking far too inconsistent on their way to a top four position.
By Oddinho Go To PostRight but they aren’t equal achievements. That’s a gross oversimplification
Why are they not the same? Both squads are good, but not great. Both did far better than anyone would have expected in the CL. However, both sides just are far too inconsistent.
I think it is fair to bring up because you are talking about how Klopp deserves extra praise in the league because he did so while getting Liverpool to a final. EDF secured CL football next year in the exact same circumstances with Roma facing a threat from Lazio and Inter all season.
I just don't think what EDF did was impressive. He did the minimum in the league that I would expect from Roma, same as Klopp did this year. Liverpool have only bveen marginally better than last season, but you are talking like Klopp has transformed this team.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostI thought the list was in relation to the PL. And i don't consider this Liverpool campaign any more impressive than last years. Still far too inconsistent and have relied heavily on a better than expected season fromn Sarah, which I doin't know how much can be put down to Klopp.
Doing well in six games(games that you don't even actually need to win to get to the final) is a bit different to the 38 played over a season.
Well even saying that, pundits and rival fans didn't even have Liverpool to be fighting for 4th place. People were having Tottenham, Chelsea or Arsenal ahead of us. We were suppose to be finishing 5th or 6th.
