A lot happened in that episode.
Who is the girl?
Yeah I need to watch the episode again. Dolores lost her Teddy lol

Good on Teddy, I had a feeling he wasn’t gonna kill to dude.
This recap video might be one to avoid this week.
It heavily mentions the original trailer for the season, so some might not like to see the direction things are going.
It shows what might be a pretty huge spoiler.

That was actually a pretty fantastic episode. Probably the best of the 4 so far. Primarily because the stuff with Peter Mullan as Jim Delos and the Elsie with Bernard/Arnold scenes explained a lot of what was going on.
I loved that episode.
William/Bernard are my two favourite characters characters, so an episode just on them is golden.
I was expecting her to be his daughter. Gonna be interesting to see what her goal is. Maybe to burn him to the ground.

Same. Dolores is still too one dimensional. I love that this whole thing is just one rich man's goal to live forever.

My thoughts (curious what you all think. Keep in mind I have no watched any of these "explained" vids).
- Father Delos wants eternal life. They're getting closer but when a human realizes they're not actually their original selves they start to malfunction similar to hosts realizing their place in season 1 (Abernathy and Barnard).
- Delos Corp wants Abernathy / the package because they think it will help achieve this. Ford may have been more successful in making hosts human than Delos has been using human consciousness in engineered bodies.
- We've seen two brain capsules. White and red. The red ones used for father Delos. Seems like they may be using a simple color coding for host brains vs actual stored human consciousness?
- (old) William's daughter has a large roll in all this. She (IMO) has to have weird feeling about the park considering her father and mother.
- Bernard did some shit at Ford's bidding.
- The first time any of the Hosts have started following (old) William is when he finally had a moment of altruism. Ford speaks to (old) William again through the girl regarding the single good deed thing, but I think the point still stands. When (old) William tried to gain accomplices through force they all killed themselves. They had to willingly join his side.

The episode was fine in the end but I got real fed up during the whole song and dance with the confederado man.
So so overwrought and self-indulgent

I think William was using it as eternal life for himself, but maybe the death of his wife has changed him. Now he doesn't care about living forever.
I think the daughter is trying to put an end to the plan anyway. It seems she hates him from what William has said, so maybe it repulses her the idea of her dad(and grandpa) having eternal life.
I now have a feeling Ford achieved it. Seems he told Bernard to fuck up William's lab, which William was always gonna discover if the ending of season 1 didn't happen. We know Bernard had a part to play in the creation of a second person. Maybe Ford achieved it, destroyed the lab, then had his old self go out in a blaze of glory(if that even was the original).

Ok so we're on similar trains of thought here. I could definitely see the angle that William also wanted eternal life. Father Delos would be his path too.
I do think Ford has it figured out. It's the only thing that makes sense regarding the package.
We're on the same path with his daughter too. I suspect she also wants the park gone. In an episode or two (seems like they rotate between Dolores and Bernards arcs) they'll talk and we can hopefully find out more. I think there's the possibility of some fuckery here. She is the heir to Westworld / the fortune after all.
Hmmmm ... I wonder if Ford's game for William always involved his daughter ...

Yeah, we are on the same line of thought lol
I am pretty excited for William and his daughter's conversation.
One thing I am not sure about though, why haven't the Delos corporation come looking for William?
Are there factors at play right now that we don't know about?

They may be looking for him? Regarding the timeline Fuckery, we’ve only seen a teeny bit of what’s going on 2 weeks in advance. We’re probably 2-3 days into the imidiate post ford death arc. The first crew they showed up got doloreses foot up their ass. It does seem like the package is priority number 1 though. Which may imply father Delos goal of life eternal is higher on the food chain than William.

I am looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. Hopefully it all pays off.
I know you don't like those explanation videos, but this next when is gonna be amazing.
It's not that I don't like the videos, I just want to avoid spoilers. If there was no risk of spoilery shit I would totally get into them.
I felt like that episode was mostly just awesomeness that showed us Maeve's transforming abilities. We did get to see Dolores reprogram Teddy. Poor Teddy. You'll likely be a monster when we next meet. lol
I'll have the recap stuff up later on. It wasn't my most favorite episode, like it seems to be for a lot of other people. I do appreciate that they respected a world influenced by Japanese history. Nearly all the dialog was in Japanese, A recreation of the siege in Sweetwater and even though Sizemore says he cribbed the script for Shogun world form the Sweetwater story ark, the desire to protect an associate of yours is universal.
Good casting for the actors that fill Shogun world too!

Shogun world was awesome, some of the plot stuff other than Maeve’s powers seemed minor but good character development and a fun story. Dolores makes me want to stab my eyes out in bordom at this point.

Dolores wasn't one of the bodies in the water where we do see Teddy early on.
I've been speculating that Ford is trying to get William to view the Hosts as more than just robots. That's his final game. It's why the circle of banditos killed themselves when William tried to take them by force. Its why the people riding with ford now are only doing so because he did an altruistic act. I think it's also why the girl said you keep looking to the future when you should be looking to the past.
Part of me is speculating that William will have to make amends to Dolores. Almost curious if William replaces Teddy as the man she needs.
By Fenderputty Go To PostDolores wasn't one of the bodies in the water where we do see Teddy early on.I feel like William will have to choose between Delores and Maeve given his connection to both of their stories. Not from a charactor standpoint cause he prolly doesnt even know who Maeve is but more of an ideology standpoint of who he agrees with more for the future of hosts.

Two theories in there, including one new one that I haven't heard before. So maybe skip it if you are not interested in them.
Show is trying to do way too much right now, too many storylines that are disconnected and trying too hard to make everything some crazy mystery. Dolores and her crew are unbearable anytime they are on, MIB is pretty much doing the same shit as last season although the actor is so good I still welcome his scenes, Maeve is interesting because at least it's different, and Bernard I don't even know what the fuck is going on or if it's something current or that already happened.
HOPKINSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
So Ford has tried to bring Arnold back to life, and has uploaded himself too.
Dolores knew she fucked up with the Teddy.

This has become a bit shit hasn’t it
I don’t feel attached to any of the characters, even the human ones.
And everything that happens feels inconsequential as it’s all within the confines of the park(s).
Also seems like they have a rough outline of what they want, but are making an awful lot of it up as they go along and aren’t doing a good job of filling in the gaps

Same. This season just feels like it lost its edge that drew me in, and instead is trying to become edgy, if that makes sense.

My feelings about S2 mirror the lad Bungie's.
I'd definitely put ep 03 and 07 above the rest, but yeah, a far cry from S1.

This is the first episode where I really enjoyed Dolores's arc. Blowing up the backups releasing themselves from the "shackles" of being able to be rebooted was pretty rad. The look on Charlotte's face when she saw that Dolores knew everything too was ace. So all the hosts and guests are basically mortal now.
William is obviously alive. Though I still question his motives.
Maeve will be helped by the story writer character and go to the Indian tribe for her daughter. The Indian tribe clearly has some sort of a roll here. One thing I'm confused about is what happened to felix and them. I know Maeve left them there to go to the house on her own, but I thought Felix said he was gonna help when he finally heard shots. I wonder if Felix and them show up just in time to save William who's clearly not gonna die even though he was shot 6 times.
Ford's God complex is huge. He's no longer hidden in the cradle and is in Bernard. He can clearly take what "free will" the hosts have learned back.

Now that was a good episode. They finally let a story develop for once instead of the mushed up multi timeline bullshit. Fantastic acting and when I realized who the dialogue was with at the end it made it even better. Kudos to HBO for the casting and confidence in their actors to do heavily Japanese episode, and now one 90% in Lakota
I've liked this season just fine, this episode however jumps ahead of the Jim Delos episode. The material Zahn McClarnon had to work with was top notch. It was an emotional journey about life, death, and your placement in a world (clearly not yours). That's devastating stuff.
Yeah it was an amazing episode. How long has he not been dead? It was 10 years when they thought they were uploading a new version.
