Get the brooms out. Yankees swept in Tampa.
Related note, if I don't wake up tomorrow and read that Chasen Shreve has been DFA'd, me and Brian Cashman are going to have some words. It would be nice to move Sonny Gray, too.

Is today yesterday's tomorrow? Chasen Shreve is still in NY. :(
This dude is terrible. ERA almost 10 in May. over 7 in June. 1.65 WHIP. Awful.
Dude came in on Saturday, only needed to get 1 out to get out of the inning. He got that 1 out, but not before giving up a walk, single, and another walk. The only reason he didn't give up a run is the last batter he faced was more desperate than he was, apparently, because he struck out on balls that were well off the plate. Didn't you see what had just happened before? Hold your swing and take your base.
Then yesterday. Yankees and Rays were tied in extras, Yankees bullpen had gone 8 innings of no-hit baseball, and then it was down to either Shreve to come in for a hold, or if the Yankees could get the lead in the top half, Chapman to come in for the save. Yankees didn't take the lead, so in came Shreve, and you knew the game would be over. He's not getting 3 outs before giving up damage.
Dude didn't even make to a second pitch.
First pitch, straight down broadway, over the wall, game over.
When he comes into the game, just know, Yankees are trying to lose. They have other things to do and time is getting away.
....
Also, Gary Sanchez hurt himself trying to run out a ground ball, might be going to the DL. He hasn't been hitting anyway (.190 for the season, .121 (!!!!) in June), so that's almost whatever.

Yankees are in firm control in the opener of a series with Boston, leading 8-1 in the top of the ninth and...
FUUUUCKK
Chasen Shreve is coming in to pitch
FUUUUCKK
Fucking Sonny Gray, man.
1st inning, gets first two out.
Single
Walk
Single
Grand slam.
Yankees have Severino, the corpse of CC, and that's it, for starting pitching.

Gray lasts 2.1 innings. 6 runs, 2 on as he exits the game.
Bro should be DFA'd by the time they get back from commercial.

Irrelevant to the outcome here, but Chasen Shreve came in to work the ninth and of course gave up a run before getting anyone out. :/
Now the Yankees reverse roles on Boston. Severino for the Yankees, not-Chris-Sale for the Sox.
4-0 NYY after 1.

It took a few years of limited plate appearances, but Kyle Higashioka got his first major league hit.
He was 0-21.
He was 0-21.
Aaron Judge just sent a ball 115 MPH about 6 inches from the pitcher's face.
If I'm pitching to Judge, I want one of those BP screens.

By RATHasReturned Go To PostThis Yankees series starting tonight will be rough and interesting.
Yankees will be looking for more payback for the Braves winning the first 2 games in 96.
By Pac-12 Go To PostYankees are really going to blow a 6-0 lead.nah we got this.
6-5 now, top of the 7th
So Stanton plows into the wall trying to stop that homer that made it 6-5. They check him out, stays in the game. Next batter sends him right back to that damn wall.
Made the catch, though.
Betances + Chapman, I hope.
An insurance run or three would be nice.

Might be on the red eye to have some words with Aaron Boone.
Warren is working the eighth despite giving up that homer in the seventh. Let a man on, and who is warming up in the bullpen? Chasen Shreve.

Been hard living with my parents while we sell our house. Been without dodgers for a little over 3 weeks now.
Fucking Sonny Gray
This fuck
Again, joker loads the bases in the first after getting the first two out. Got out of it!
5 runs in the second. :/
So far.

*When Sonny Gray isn't pitching.
**Tomorrow with Germán is TBD
Fucking CC Sabathia.
He's decent enough early in games, but you can't leave him in too long. Sure enough, Boone trots him back out for the sixth when he already had around 90 pitches, and he puts the first two on and then gives up the homer to the third batter.
Yankees drop game 1 to the fucking Orioles.

By blackace Go To PostSeems like an Aaron Boone problem
I'm not disagreeing. Not at all.
Damn rookies.
