Really good seventh.
When there's two walks in an inning, that's kind of crumby for a pitcher. When the same player walks twice in an inning, though....
Yankees batted around, scored 6. (Aaron Hicks walked twice.)

3 hits tonight for Gary Sanchez, including a homer (broke the scoreless tie in the 6th). Please, baseball jebus, let this be the start of something.
Greg Bird is 0-3, though. But this is where I'll be fair and say he at least drew a couple of walks, so his OBP is .400 tonight.

Yankees are shit.
I'll have to find out why Aaron Boone decided to start Sonny Gray, and then when Sonny Gray Sonny Grayed it, ask why Boone then left Loaisiga in there after he loaded the bases, then walked in a run, all with nobody out, and then only took him out after another hit for a run.
Oh, wait! I know why he initially left him in there! It's because as soon as he replaced him with Kahnle, Kahnle gave up the grand slam. :/

On the one hand, it's not his fault about injuries, but holy hell do I question some of his managing decisions.
Well, look at that. Greg Bird's no hitting ass broke up the no hitter with an RBI double in the 8th. (Luke Voit walked just before.)
Yankees trail 3-1 to the Twins because they have no interest in hosting the play-in game in a few weeks.

Yet another L. Yankees' lead over Oakland is down to 1 game.
Since July 1, they've been quite mediocre. Pitching, hitting, managing.

David Wright (shoulder) will be activated on September 25 for the Mets' final homestand of the year.So unfortunate... consummate team guy , early on a career that looked like he was destined for the Hall of Fame.
Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon made that announcement at a press conference Thursday afternoon at Citi Field. Wright will be available off the bench for a three-game set against the Braves and is slated for a start at third base on September 29 against the Marlins, the second-to-last day of the regular season. Wright hasn't played in a major league game since May 27, 2016 due to serious neck, shoulder, and back injuries. He is expected to retire this winter.

Good first inning for New York against Toronto, where in the hell was that on the road trip.
5-0 after 1.
5-0 after 1.
Yankees have now left the bases loaded twice, going 0-4 with 4 Ks.
Incidentally, they trail 5-1 in the 7th.

Toying with my emotions. Grounder into a force at home, strike out....
And then a broken bat bloop single to score 2. 7-1 Toronto, 2 on, 2 out. Pitcher change.

So apparently it's a given that I have 2 cups of coffee, immediately doze off, and the Yankees load them up and actually get a grand slam in the seventh.
^ And there's the KOD.
Smokey's pal and confidant Ken Giles slams the door on the comeback with a 4 out save.

Fucking Yankees lost again. McCutchen starts the game with a homer, Stanton was up second, walked and eventually scored, and that was it for the offense for the rest of the game.

I agree! He shut down the Yankees two days in a row!
All rise. Aaron Judge will start tonight. (He played a couple of innings last week in the outfield, but wasn't cleared to bat.)
Good win last night. Stopped watching after we went up 6. Hopefully we can come closer to sealing the division with a couple more wins.
Going to the Astros v Mariners game tonight brehs. Got tickets from work. Right behind home plate. Hyped

It's crazy seeing this many people here on a weekday. I remember a few years ago the Astros getting a 0.0 rating on TV lol

Yankees tried their damnedest to melt down in the ninth, with two errors, but they weren't able to do it and ended up winning the game anyway, 3 to 2.
By Koko Go To PostMeh…..just postponing the inevitable.
Looked up at the Dodgers and Rockies just in time to call and then see Chris Taylor hit a walk-off in the bottom of the 10th. I've got that midas touch.
Except when the Yankees are playing.

Theoretically, an east coast sleep schedule would preclude such a thing.
But I know I'm awake dern near all night.

Why do you do this to yourself?
At least it won't be the Yankees or the Astros. Though my brother in law will be insufferable this post season.
A walk-off RBI double on one leg for Aaron Hicks in the 11th clinches a play-in spot for the Yankees.
