I don't care if the Wolves make the playoffs. I'd prefer they didn't because it would lead to Thibs being fired sooner. A four game ass beating at the hands of the Rockets isn't an achievement, it's not some great moment of progression for this team, unlike what tools like Zach Harper want people to think.
A playoff berth is more harmful to the future of the franchise. It means Thibs gets to go back to Glen and say, I need more of my guys and I'll take you further. He'll pin the entire sweep on guys he didn't bring in (Tyus, Wiggins, Dieng) and get rid of productive players for tough guys and get another go at this thing for no reason. He's the ultimate snake oil salesman. He can't teach NBA defense anymore, which is the one thing he supposedly knows. They have two good players, one of which he didn't bring in. He manipulates media types into believing his hype and parroting his garbage about the Wolves being soft and not wanting it enough when the truth is he doesn't put them in positions to succeed with his archaic schemes.
Whatever. Who cares.
By Omzz Go To PostI haven't been paying attention so I missed the Knicks introducing Fat Joe as their new GM, but I like the move. Really, he can't be worse than Phil or the 3rd ranked guy from the Kings.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostSo, is this the year the Raptors beat the Cavs.Where would you put money if you had to bet? I would still put it on Cleveland, but wouldn't be shocked to see Toronto come through.

I want to believe in the Raptors since they have Wright and Poeltl and their regular season stats were really good, but... it hasn't gone well in the past.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostI have no idea.If they use their bench and limit Lowry to 28-32 minutes in the playoffs they have a good shot.

If Casey goes 8 man bench and Lowry plays 36-40 a night Cavs in 4.
By s y Go To PostMaybe he could put that energy into defense for once
Pressure season. Booker about to take the QO and bounce.
I’m listening to Zach Lowe’s podcast and he says the Rockets sent out a Chandler Parsons themed Monopoly game one year when he was up for MIP or something.
I didn’t think anything could top Alan Turing Monopoly, but there it is.

Listening to the same podcast, it's crazy to me how finely they split hairs in the process of doing these awards. I think Lowe must be an outlier. There's no way other writers are often putting in that much care and worry to these awards. Most of them are voting on the predominant current narrative.

Casey, Snyder, and Stevens seem to be the only real options, but I wouldn't yell at anybody giving honorable mentions to Gentry. There are so many guys. Those are the three main ones, but Spo, Pops & Nate McMillan have squads of nobodies in playoff spots. Brett Brown has maxed out his guys (considering age/injury) and has people talking about them in the finals. Hornacek hasn’t run out of the city screaming.
I think Stevens is going to win because of the story line surrounding his team this year. They lost their marquee free agent pick up 5 minutes into the season and still coached them to the #2 seed.
I think Casey and Snyder deserve it more, but the NBA loves a good story line.

Stevens will win CotY
Simmons will win RotY
Gobert will win DPotY
Harden will win MVP
Oladipo will win MIP
And I don't know who will win 6th man.

Gobert should win DPotY, but I think others will hold his games missed against him.
Don't know who you'd vote in his place though.

Joel has the same minutes/games played issue that Rudy does, and the Pels weren't an elite defensive team.

Lou will get 6th man... it's between him and Gordon. Gordon started 30 games, missed some games, and won last year.
By reilo Go To Postwins?
Jazz reporters have been pretty blatant in saying they think Gobert is a lock for DPotY and Simmons a lock for RotY based on what they've heard around the league.
Also, I'm gonna be really pissed when Jrue doesn't get first team all-defense.
....Though not really because he won't, but he does deserve it.

I'm curious if he will make an all defensive team? He seems like the type that would also get snubbed.
