What a legendary tank.
By Mariosalic Go To PostYou're gonna win that AC bet IWMTB19.
Surprised it hasn't leaked yet.
I feel a little bad because I saw some inside info and leaks randomly (before they were deleted) so this is a little like insider trading... Except for avatar bets, lol.

grizz should have their picks cancelled
magic tanking the proper way by playing your best guys but instead calling plays for biyombo on offense

By Red Blaster Go To Postgrizz should have their picks cancelledWe are going to somehow end up with Mo Bomba out of karma.

college "elite" defenders that are considered elite because they can block 3+ shots a game since they can camp out in the paint are prone to being busts. Especially when they are not elite athletes and have limited offensive game. That probably has the highest bust rate of all prospects.

By Mariosalic Go To PostGreeceAhh. Makes sense as a sequel to Origins..
its harder than ever to judge defense on 1 year guys, especially bigs
ayton could easily be godlike out of nowhere

Bamba is nowhere near as strong or athletic or smart or tough as current Rudy Gobert, but then again, neither was rookie Rudy Gobert and Bamba's body could possibly develop into being similar to Gobert's.
By Sho_Nuff82 Go To PostParsons only played 36 games this year? WhewThat's...more than I thought. I don't remember reading a single word about him actually playing this season.
By Red Blaster Go To Postgrizz should have their picks cancelledI want the Magic to spend the rest of their tank just grinding XP for Biyombo. Unlock everything in that skill tree. Shooting, passing, hacking, healing spells, whatever's in there.

One thing that amuses me is that Kyle Anderson is a significantly better defender than Andrew Wiggins when Anderson was picked 30th because people thought he couldn't defend a chair while Wiggins got tons of hype for his defense in college.
If you're tall and smart and care, you'll become a good NBA defender (also see: Lonzo Ball, which I called when no one else did).
Though dominant athleticism obviously helps players become good or elite defenders.

giving a fuck in san antonio is the key
By Mariosalic Go To PostWho even cares about RoTY?
It's a team sport, people should stop caring so much about individual awards.
By blackace Go To PostNaw… he a rookie.I just don't see a guy who's already received a year of NBA coaching, film room, training staff, money, and general acclimation, as a rookie anymore.
I will be very shocked if Lonzo Ball lasts in the league longer than whatever contract he's currently signed to at the most mismanaged front office ever.
But at least we got Kuzma and Hart though, so we're officially rebuilding finally.

By diehard Go To PostThe opinions on Lonzo are all over the board and its pretty interesting. It's because nobody knows if he'll ever really learn to shoot. Nobody's ever made anything of themselves after shooting this bad for this long, but it would seem to defy the odds that somebody that good at that many other things doesn't improve. If he doesn't, you can't keep starting him in this NBA unless you play him as like the 5th man utility wing on a team like OKC.
The one weird thing in his favour is that the Lakers said they weren't going to tinker with his jumper during the season which makes no sense to me, but it might mean he improves in the summer.

Like you just got finished saying you weren't on drugs, though.
im not that worried about lonzo getting it together. maybe i should be...
i dont think he'll top 20 ppg or really light up the scoreboard but i never thought that.
i dont think he'll top 20 ppg or really light up the scoreboard but i never thought that.
I'm honestly more worried about Lonzo staying healthy.
Same here. I think he can get his average to like 13-15 PPG on like 40% from the floor and like 35% from 3...
I just hope he fixes his free throws.

By Jeff-DSA Go To PostBecause the NBA is set up so that only 3-4 teams ever realistically have a shot at winning, so individual awards are really the most some fanbases can hope for. But since they have the voting determined by writers, there's a massive bias towards large markets for those awards anyway.Karl Malone won the MVP twice... The Nets have never had an MVP and NY hasn't had a MVP in almost 50 years... I kinda not seeing your big market bias...
the RotY the last couples was a Buck, Twolf, Twolf, 6er, Blazer, Cav
Mitchell is beasting but so is Ben... Ben is a 7ft pg putting up almost identical numbers to a rookie Magic Johnson... hard not to hype that
Yeah i don't really care about the awards but Simmons is definitely deserving, small market or not.
Small markets really matter if the team isn't winning. People still pay attention to the big markets when they are losing, but small markets will get attention if they win.

The bar is being lowered for Lonzo "Next Magic Johnson, No. 2 overall pick" Ball.
I think Ayton will be an ok defender. Has all the tools. Much like KAT. KAT's defense has come a long a lot.
The scarier thing is, as jasper said, picking guys with out skills on athletic talent. That's scary as fk (Hi Chriss you fat POS). It's why I preferred Tatum after Fultz. Though Jackson has at least shown a lot of promise with his extended playing time late in the season.

lonzo is headed to backup town unless he really commits to defense going forward
i actually see him becoming a small ball wing who can run offense and switch on the perimeter. in 2018 nba having a pg who can't create off the dribble or shoot 3s is impossible

Lonzo's career will live or die by the work the Lakers put into his shot this offseason.
He's sunk if he comes into the 2018 preaseason with the same busted mechanics.

what i meant is he needs to realize he's probably never going to be a lead guard and instead become a 6'6 pat beverly
