good thing the new anti-tanking rules are in place after this years draft.
ppl throwing quite the bitchfit about fultz not answering the shoulder questions. embarrassing from the media.
By Kibner Go To PostBoth ideas here are basically the same thing and ways to throw Wiggins and Towns under the bus. Thibs and the veterans have been doing it all year, laying the losses and the bad defense at the feet of the young guys. It's not hyperbole to say the locker room is really divided between people loyal to Thibs and the young guys. The public just hasn't seen it a ton because they were mostly winning ballgames before.
If they miss the playoffs (Denver needs to get it together), you'll get the anonymously sourced Woj hit piece from Thibs about well, actually, Wiggins doesn't work very hard and if only he did then...

mkg is fultz scared of the 3 ball
looked @ ball's shooting numbers after a long time
lmao, this is 2011 gilbert arenas bad.
to his credit he's good at defense but he's on a train to 20 mpg backup.

By Red Blaster Go To Postlooked @ ball's shooting numbers after a long timeHe is a rookie with a glaring weakness that should be possible to improve, but there haven't really been any rookies to shoot this poorly and end up good at it and there haven't been that many players who have successfully re-worked that bad of a shot form.

One thing also about Ball is that while he shot well in college, he shot like 30% from the field in HS which is one of the reasons why he wasn't considered a top 10 pick out of high school despite being up there with LeBron, Jokic, and Anthony Davis for high BBIQ prospect in the last 15 years.
He's streaky from 3 and his FT is so broken he looks like he doesn't want to go inside because he can't make a damn FT. Dude needs to make granny style a thing again. Only BBB can do it.
At this point I think him shooting well in college was an anomaly. His vision and instincts are amazing, but if he can't even shoot at league average by year 3 he has no future in the NBA. I'm really encouraged by his defense though, he gets into passing lanes well and is showing instincts that weren't on display in college.
Is Luke Kennard starting to come around? He seems to be playing better recently.

wings with his size get their forms reworked every year. reworks for guys 6'5 and up isn't even unusual really (granted lonzo's shot is jank as fuck)
Hence my "that bad of a shot form" comment. And a large improvement in shooting numbers comes from guys learning the spots they can be successful at and mainly just taking those shots (and getting those shots off quicker). You can look at a shot chart for someone's career year-by-year, and 95% of them get more focused over time. The typical outliers are superstars.
By Doomsayer Go To PostIs Luke Kennard starting to come around? He seems to be playing better recently.I haven't really watched him ever, so I can't offer an informed opinion on it. I will say that numbers at the end of a season often don't carry over to the next due to all kinds of end-of-season fuckery. You need to watch how he played at the beginning, middle, and end and see how he has grown to really have a good idea of if the improvement is sustainable.

Shooting form is something else entirely and its something people only typically notice in bigs ironically. im jus saying... if brook lopez can go from never looking at a three to being arguably the best shooter on an NBA team in his 8th year in the league, its not that huge of a hurdle. lonzo doesn't even need to be an average shooter in the league to have a very good and long career. he just needs to be better than MCW

Hypothetical:
If a poor FT shooting player is fouled in a pivotal game 7, with seconds left. He can ice the game with 1 free-throw, or better still...break a tie with less than 1 second left. Should he underhand the free-throw?
Obviously he should shoot with whatever form he's most accurate with. Most players haven't practiced underhanded free throws and would be bad at them if they tried without practice (as practice is almost everything).

C. Fake an injury.
By DY_nasty Go To Postshot selection and general conditioning/strength comes from just being in the NBA for a couple of years imo.Yeah, I'm just saying that big improvements (shooting % wise) such as Lonzo will need don't actually happen that often. Shooting forms change and get better for basically every player, just not to the level of success that he needs. If that kind of improvement was common, over half the league would be shooting 45% from 3.

Pretty unique company: http://bkref.com/tiny/QUrME
Yeah, Lonzo is terrible..
His first step is terrible, and he can't shoot.
If he's to come back from his rookie year and be even a league average point guard he's got a long fucking way to go.
He should be afraid though, now that Earl Watson isn't coaching, he may come for his job.

I don't think Lonzo is terrible at all, if he just goes back to hitting open jumpshots he can be a league average point guard. Ok he needs to be a half decent FT shooter too.
easily the best rookie point by a big margin
notice how people forgot to check for dennis smith after november

By reilo Go To PostBetter than Simmons? lolsimmons is as much of a PG as diaw tbh
and he's not 1st year guy
and he'd be nothing without embiid either. that's like the one guy you absolutely never want to compare lonzo's shot against lol. simmons had a full year with NBA trainers and doesn't even know what hand to shoot with

Mitchell plays 64% of his minutes at SG. They only play him at PG at the end of the 2nd and 3rd quarters (when Exum was out) and at the end of some games to get him experience at PG.

hey you can always ask knux
he only trips out when embiid goes down and when fultz looks shook. simmons kinda whatever lol. pg simmons doesn't happen without all those shooters + embiid being godlike. on most other teams in the league he never gets a chance to entertain this pg bullshit
