dr.stone looks interesting
By DY_nasty Go To Posti trust psy on animation im sryIt's okay, we all have off years.
By data Go To PostHiei being Japan's most popular YYH character says a lot about the trash tier taste of JapanPretty sure Hiei is the most popular everywhere.

Hiei stinks.
Kurama's by far the best character.
Hiei and Kurama are basically Yamcha tier. What the fuck did they do? They were meant to be bad arses, but they were pretty pathetic. Kuwabara was the GOAT. Even most likely be fucking Hiei's sister at the end.

Just watched.
Like I said previously, I was surprised by how little MHA merchendise I saw. Even at the Jump Store it was pretty pathetic. Maybe it just isn't as popular in Japan as it is in the west.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To Post*Samurai Pizza Cats*The eighties were an amazing time for some of the most off beat anime to come to American soil.
WTF?
Keep in mind TMNT was huge then so you threw anything with fast food together.

Seemed like one of the jokes in the song was aimed at TMHT.
Is that an actual thing in Japan? I guess I never saw any OPM shit either lol.
Catching up to Attack on Titan Season 3, it's much faster than I thought... The debut episode has covered 3 chapters of the manga so far...
EDIT: Holy shit it's massively different... O_O
EDIT: Holy shit it's massively different... O_O
the whole sequence where Kenney and his men appeared doesn't happen in the manga... like WTF happened to my socioeconomical and geopolitical battle like in the manga?
wait, when?
kenny got a bit of shine in an OVA but there's been nothing he's missing from really. the chase happens and if anything its just better in the anime than the manga. historia's mom. the trost merchants. i can't think of anything significant he's been gone from

of I wouldn't know about the OVA, i know there is a side story that covers Levi's life before the scouts but I didn't read it at all. I don't know if that scene happens in the manga, but it DEFINITELY didn't happen there...
See Chapter 53-54 https://ww5.readsnk.com/chapter/shingeki-no-kyojin-chapter-053/ - No mass attack led by a serial killer there, Hell the King and the proxy shouldn't even be around yet.
EDIT: I also didn't like just how much they skipped over/just cut out in the anime. Why go so fast? Season 1 lasted like forever, Season 2 was ridiculously fast. There is a legit amount of stuff they could do from the manga to make Season 3 last like 26-30 episodes. Maybe they'll introduce them later but damn, those where legit story elements that set up points of foreshadowing.

At the rate this is going. I wouldn't be surprised if they wrapped up the whole series by the end of season 2. Hell, the manga definitely seems like it's about to end too. I"m liking the pace.
Edit: I could see them finishing the season and wrapping the series up with a movie a la End of Evangelion

going by the previous two seasons, its kinda clear the anime is gonna continue taking liberties with the flashback placement in order to drive and redirect tension for better moments in the show. nothing new really. they've been doing it all over the place since season one.
and its going faster because no one is trying to see 12 episodes on politics that never come up again. if they're going all the way up to beast titan rematch/marley revelation then this is definitely the part you chop up a bit. and they've been better with putting the foreshadowing/brooding to a single, clear point than the manga has as well. just the last minute of the episode with armin wondering "so where did eren get his powers from?" takes full chapters of juelzing out and gets to a showing > telling flow

... b-but I like Attack on Politics
They were literally going to have a referendum about the situation in Trost and the scouts where going to have a Town Hall meeting with the Merchant Guild to hammer out a trade agreement that would be beneficial not only for the Survey Teams, but it would profit then district AND the Merchant Guild. You don't see that type of bipartisanship anywhere in the country, much less a city surrounded by giant fake humans. Even moreso, the situation in the Walls was going to have a destabilizing effect on the economy with middle and lower class outrage building due to the distribution of labor. Eventually it could've led to a coup if the King and "others" didn't have their ace in the hole (no comment). I mean, we haven't even covered the geopolitical landscape yet (how many of the wealthy class subscribe to The Church of The Walls/titan worshipers) or what the dominant party is.
yeah i get that but it sucks and it never comes up again. it was only really significant in the manga back then because it was the point where everyone began to realize he wasn't winging it as a writer. It had no relevance outside of that arc and at this point in the manga its even more useless.
they summed up the entire trost/survey corps/propaganda shit in less than a dozen scenes. im actually glad that they understand that tv doesn't equal literature. too many shows try to force it and too many suffer for it. no one is trying to spend weeks going over the economic ramifications of a merchant sector collapse.
"there might a civil war if the walls get breached. remember what happened last time. there wont even be humans left for titans to eat. you know this" *gasp* done
"damn how did eren get his powers in the first place?" *cliffhanger* done
"reiss had goons? for what?" *transition*
"i would've tried a rebellion too lolz" *shock* *perspective*
"we have merchant friends now. yay" *whatever*
there's nothing bad about any of this imho.

I hope the movie is super awesome because this latest season of MHA has been pretty lacking on dope animation outside of a few scenes and my God they are dragging this provisional license shit out.
Hopefully the schedule allowed for some greatness for the finale.

By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostJust when things look like picking up in this License arc they throw in a filler episode next week. It's dumb.
The MHA S3 OP is really good. I normally skip 90% of OPs after hearing it once but I always let this one play through
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostHas anyone checked out Steins Gate 0?is it over? I was going to check it out after it finished
Is it worthwhile?

also, that's by FAR my favorite depiction of Joan of Arc in any medium

All Might is just Johnny Bravo without the dating fix...
I mean how was the creator of the manga not questioned about this before?
