If anyone wants a look at something different, check out "Land of the Lustrous". It has a relatively unique art style and setting. Protags are a centuries(?) old human monk and a bunch of anthropomorphic gemstones who work together to keep themselves from being kidnapped by these weird human abomination things that live on the moon.
The story mainly focuses around one particular gemstone who is searching for a purpose because she doesn't have the hardness to help out in a fight against the moon people.

By s y Go To PostBoruto 65 might the best animated episode of the last 2 years.Fuck it. This is an industry event, a collaboration between Japanese vets, young Chinese star, young web gen animators and foreign animators as well. Might be the best animated fight/episode/anything of the 5+ years. Twitter is going crazy.

Edit: the director and one of the key animators, Chengxi Huang put 500+ hours into this episode alone.

This was the first time that Chengxi Haung directed an episode. What a debut.
By domino Go To PostWhy did they decide to put this much effort into a random boruto episode.bruh
so much good animation going to shit shows
By domino Go To PostWhy did they decide to put this much effort into a random boruto episode. It's the climax of an arc, and those episodes get a boost in budget of course.
Also it's fairly low risk, since it's a popular show.

This story sets up everything that happens to Boruto afterwards. Something happened to him at the end there but you won't find out about it until later. We have seen a glimpse of it in the flash forward that opened the anime and manga.
By DY_nasty Go To Postbut boruto is still gonna be trash

If it ain't on Hulu I'm not giving it time tbh. It has to be accessible. Also probably can't get to it until weekend when I can ensure everybody is gone.

Sword Art Online is awful. Popular, yes, but characters are terrible, premise has a bunch of obvious flaws (to an mmo veteran like me, at least), and just not good story telling in any sense, form, or fashion.
Imma have to check what is on Hulu, but Yu Yu Hakusho is amazing. At least up through the Dark World Tournament arc. Which is a significant portion of the series. It's old but also has some of the most memorable English dub voices.

Just scrolling through an article about different shows on Hulu. Can recommend the following:
Soul Eater (can watch it with your kid, I believe)
Cowboy Bebop (fits your love of space related things, incredible music, memorable characters, awesome English dub, possibly something the wife may dig as it's watchable by adults)
One Punch Man (short, amazing animation, great action, funny)

By DY_nasty Go To Postwatch kuroko you fucking cowardKuroko is a good basketball anime. I also like Slam Dunk, though it isn't nearly as cool.
Slam Dunk is a classic. Don't think I've ever watched the anime in it's entirety, but the manga is awesome.

THE POWER OF INTERNATIONAL INTERGENERATIONAL ANIME – BORUTO #65

Now that would be an impressive accomplishment on its own, but Huang had a goal in mind: becoming a director. Achieving that dream on the week of his birthday, in the franchise that he loves so dearly, under the supervision of his mentor, and being able to put together one of the all-time highs for the entire series makes this whole ordeal as sweet as it could possibly be. But that happy conclusion worthy of a movie wasn’t reached following an equally pleasant path.
For all of its qualitative goodness, Boruto #65 is supported by quantitative absurdity. Enough to force Huang to work 500 hours over the last month alone (don’t do the basic math unless you want your soul to shatter). Perhaps hearing that it was composed of 510 cuts of animation doesn’t tell you much, but once you realize that episodes generally fluctuate around 250~300, and that only one of a kind productions like Violet Evergarden peak that high, you’ll begin understanding the ridiculous amount of work it took – especially since this episode is functionally a full-length sakuga action compilation, densely packed with spectacle and with little to no downtime
By rerixo Go To Postdid anyone expect boruto 65's run to be this short
Does the rest of the episode look like that?
