By Hitch Go To Post@HottestVapes, is that the Bandit icon from Rainbow Six in your avatar?Yes, fam.
Black screens just happened again. This time I was watching a video. Audio still played from the video, but screens were black. Went on for a while until I manually powered off/on. Checked bluescreenviewer and again, no dmp generated. At this point I'm wondering if it's the way I have my monitors connected. I'm using DVI (in 2018) to one for 120hz, and HDMI to the other, card only has one DVI port. I have the HDMI cable running to a 3 port HDMI switch that houses it, or any of the consoles when I decide to move them to the office. Curious if something in that chain is causing this to happen.
Thanks for the recommendations ill check out some reviews of the ones posted
Will likely choose one soon

By HottestVapes Go To PostIn the market for an m.2 drive, not necessarily an NVMe (all I do is play games, fams). I just want to consolidate my two current 2.5inch drives into a smaller package. Preferably 1Tb or larger in size.
What's good? The Crucial MX500 1Tb is around £200 which seems good to me, but I don't know shit about SSDs.
Anybody?
I'm fiending to take my PC to it's end game here, and I need to ditch my 2.5inch drives to make it happen.
By HottestVapes Go To PostAnybody?I think the Samsung Evo line is generally considered the best bang for buck at that semi-high-end level.

Crucial MX500 is 200ish quid (1Tb), the Samsung 860 Evo is about £20 more, might consider it.
Also considering an Adata 500Gb NVMe and 500Gb Cruicial SATA M.2. Works out £210, but Adata have always seemed sketchy to me.

Smokey next time your video goes out hit Win+Ctrl+Shift+B and see if that does anything (if its not just a wonky cable)
This British summer is not kind to SFF PCs.
End game plan for this DAN case is a 1Tb M.2 drive, an Asetek 545lc (92mm AIO), custom length cables. Gonna hold out with the R5 1600 until the 3000 series comes out and hope it's a big improvement, otherwise fingers crossed for Intel on 10nm.

Ordered the Crucial MX500 1Tb m.2. £181 on Amazon, but it's out of stock for 1-4 months. Can't complain at that price though, so cheap I might order a 256Gb-500Gb NVMe just for the sake of it now.

Bargainissimo. #10centspergigfuture
I've no idea what to do with the 640GB HDD it replaced tho. The idea of setting it up as the occasional external backup drive doesn't appeal to me.

Five year warranty tho, fam. I'll never take advantage of it like, but it gives me peace of mind. Speaking of second hand, I should really sell some of the parts I've got laying around here.

By NinjaFridge Go To PostTake it apart and use the platters as coastersAlways wanted to destroy a HDD. Much as I don't care for spinning disks tho, this one doesn't deserve it. Served me like a champ for 8 years. I'll see if somebody I know wants it (doubtful), otherwise I guess I'll put it up for sale, semi-gift it.
By FootbalIFan Go To PostYou made the right choice Vapes, i bought all my things new too.
I just hate dealing with eBay and the like, but especially eBay. Too many bad experiences have left me salty.
By The Frankman Go To PostWTF is this RGB shit again
I'm gonna take a pic of my rig. Not an RGB part in the whole thing.

Motherboard, mouse and keyboard for me. Backlit keyboard is a must for me. Quite like having my motherboard on white to match my GPU and just because it adds some interior lighting to my case.
By The Frankman Go To PostWTF is this RGB shit againI hate the red light on my GPU. Wish I got a different one

Fortunately you can turn every RGB off for an all dark setup if youd like :)
RGB isn't going anywhere lol
That RGB SSD that came out a while ago would actually look great in some cases. The RGBinfused components are a big step forward in aesthetics over RGB LED strips.

All PC interiors look bad. No matter how colorful they are, how tidy, how minimalistic, how gaudy. All bad.

No. Noctua heatsinks are beautiful crafts of Renaissance tier art.
