But, I have a (probably dumb) question: is the kid the one moving the ironman arm?Depends on the technology used, but there are some prosthetics that have sensors that monitor muscle activity on the limb stump as well as nerve activity and use that to interpret what the person wanted to do.
In my experience, the tech behind prosthetic legs is really impressive. The knee joints in these artificial limbs make tons of calculations to give the person just the right amount of joint movement for them to have a proper walking gait.
Really cool stuff and full props to the college kid behind building those limbs and then to RDJ for participating.
