just a guess, but the more obvious nature of global warming in 30 years probably won't be healthy for stocks :X

By Pac-12 Go To PostShould have. Should invest tomorrow, too.Had to spend money on life necessities, I've been keeping on eye on stocks though I need to do some more learning and reaearch on what to look for, and what to understand.
Joe Biden serious about being the "most qualified" to become president? Pretty sure there are ppl older than him.

As a Canadian who is also terrified of China, Iâm glad Trumpâs tarrifs seem to be working in the short term. Now if he could only get the EU et al to buy in vs China.

Lock her up!
Do it
I just want us to reflect on this. The UK Conservative goverment done for contempt, lost 3 votes and now releasing full legal advice on Brexit which shows it has been less than truthful about its deal and... Labour want to spend PMQs talking about universal credit and poverty...
By Facism Go To PostBoth garbage political entities tbh
Honestly they all can't be stupid. They say stupid things, do stupid things, but no doubt they're making fucking bank behind the scenes.
Don't think it's stupid, but cowardly.
Nobody wants to be the guy to break the 'will of the people' illusion, or the guy that plunged Britain into a third world country.

...is important. They should do another referendum. The people voted for this bonehead move, they should vote to fix it.

They're following the NC playbook, our state legislature tried the same shit after losing the governorship in 2016. Not all of it survived the courts, which is I'm sure the same path that Wisconsin is on.
So how Republicans have always operated, conveniently letting them blame Democrats for economic issues bc this country is full of absolute morons that think on Election Day, whoever got voted in has all their campaign promises become law immediately
By Rob Go To PostSo how Republicans have always operated,It's definitely how they've operated since the 80's. If people think McConnell coming out in favor of Medicare and SS cuts isn't part of the overall strat they're morons.
This last tax cut / debt explosion is incredibly irresponsible for multiple. Save when things are good and spend when things are bad. By blowing up the debt / deficits right now, it makes it harder to react when an actual recession comes (and they will come). We sped up an economy by injecting cash into the wrong places and it's still resulting in interest rate increases. Speaking of wrong places. Some infrastructure would have been nice instead of an injection of money into the donor class.

I think you can usefully combine these takes, and describe Bush nostalgia as a longing for something America used to have and doesnât really any more â a ruling class that was widely (not universally, but more widely than today) deemed legitimate, and that inspired various kinds of trust (intergenerational, institutional) conspicuously absent in our society today.
Put simply, Americans miss Bush because we miss the WASPs â because we feel, at some level, that their more meritocratic and diverse and secular successors rule us neither as wisely nor as well.
The whole thing is really something else

the contrast between the elder Bushâs foreign policy successes and the failures of his son
Presidents following SR
- Clinton (WASP)
- JR (WASP)
- Obama (Black Protestant)
- Trump (Supposed Born Again WASP).
We're still ruled by fucking WASPS! Unless his whole article was just a shitty attempt at crapping on Obama.
Like what in the actual fuck is he even talking about?

So if some of the elder Bushâs mourners wish we still had a WASP establishment, their desire probably reflects a belated realization that certain of the old establishmentâs vices were inherent to any elite, that meritocracy creates its own forms of exclusion â and that the WASPs had virtues that their successors have failed to inherit or revive.
Like what in the actual fuck is he even talking about?
