By FermentedFungi Go To PostThat's fucking disgusting, it literally took me 5 mins to go in and out of my polling place here in CA. Shaun King shared a video where a polling place didn't even have fucking power cables for their machines… I don't understand why paper ballots aren't used. There's so much shady shit that can happen with electronic machines. There's a bunch of shit wrong with voting. What's really unconscionable is how much voter suppression hasn't been tackled by Dems. And yes I'm draggin dems, its their own damn demographics they're letting get fucked over time and again. Not even self-interest motivates them to do right by a bunch of voters, christ.

Damn, Spiro Agnew was getting to the money, in MD. His fuckery was the blueprint for this state. Damn near explains everything.
The press should have learned from what happened when they were dealing with him. Repubs are using a knockoff version of the same damn playbook. Look at time repeat.

I fully expect to wake up to some regressive fuckery.
Good luck, Murica, I hope you dig yourself out of the shame hole you've put yourself in and may God have mercy on your soul.

Gillum ahead of DeSantis by 0.4 percent (49.6 to 49.2) with 82 percent of the votes in. This race is looking very close, like seemingly every one I can remember in Florida.

Yeah, if you're prone to drinking bleach (Hasphats, looking at you), don't look at the real time.

Sigh.

Sigh.
As the clock winds down on the midterms, there are scattered reports of people across the country still having trouble voting. In some places, judges are being asked to extend voting times to make up for trouble earlier in the day.
Here are some of the voter issues and irregularities that CNN has found so far this Election Day, from power outages to excessive humidity.

The people who want to enforce everyone living exactly how they want to will have more of a desire to impose their will, it's what makes people sitting out so detrimental.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostYeah, 538's real time prediction is whacked. Now it's up to 60 again.

"You may have noticed that our real-time forecast has moved toward Republicans in the House. It’s being too aggressive, in my opinion. The model sees that a bunch of “likely Republican” districts (particularly in Florida) are now 100 percent likely to go red. But there hasn’t been the chance for Democrats

Blue wave looking like fart bubbles, need to get my passport renewed, Trump is definitely going back to back in 2020.
the constitutional amendment that was strongly backed by Democratic activists to restore voting rights to felons in Florida has been adopted, according to CNN.
Think Pelosi deciding to announce a house win at a talk show was fucking stupid tbh.
Why would you do that? Say that the dems are against the ropes and need every vote that they can get, or something.

Overwhelming victory. And yet, somehow, Gillum and Nelson are losing.
Just a quick note on the world of polling accuracy: If Republicans win the Florida Senate and gubernatorial contests, that’ll be a surprise to anyone who saw today’s final NBC/Marist poll. It had the Democrats winning each race by 5 points, although the polling averages were a bit closer. But while pollsters can argue about margins of error and such, if a variety of other races break for Republicans, expect these Florida elections to be held up as more proof that the polls are missing out on undercover Republican voters.- 538
By Random Ass Username Go To PostAll I can gleam from any of this and past shit really is rural still got too much representation.Pretty much. Our representation is out of whack with the populace and total vote split.
It's a fucking joke, the polls keep expecting women to vote against Trump and Republicans in droves and women keep voting Trump. Same with certain minorities, it boggles my mind.

The Democratic Party needs to shift away from the center, the Republicans have only gained more power the farther right they go.

Heitkamp was also seen as less favorable among voters. Only forty-three percent of voters had a favorable opinion and her vote against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation could have hurt her. Forty-seven percent of voters said Heitkamp’s vote against Kavanaugh was a key factor in their vote. Meanwhile, Cramer had a 53 percent favorable rating, although 40 percent of voters said he’s “too conservative.”50 state strategy though

House is addressable with sensibly drawn districts. But the Senate is constitutionally fucked.
By reilo Go To Post50 state strategy though
Heitkamp also got fucked in North Dakota by the state legislature drafting new voting laws that hits Native Americans hard, a demographic that supported Heitkamp by a large margin.
The "little spots of blue" you just know has the highest concentration of people but sure give them one rep.

I'm looking at some ballot measures for other states, whoops, I don't want to get absolutely shitfaced tonight.

If it works out that way, even if it's a smaller margin than what may have been hoped, then the night's a win, given that expectations were that Democrats weren't going to take the Senate. The Florida races would be a kick in a teeth (if they hold), but taking a chamber of Congress is a win and puts some checks on Trump, would give Democrats subpoena power, etc. Would still rather have the Senate (which, in theory, would let Democrats block appointments, though we know how that often works out), but whatever.
I think people got their hopes up. Even if a bunch of people did vote it was probably in already pretty blue areas. I'm willing to bet much of the youngsters voting are people who already fled their fucked up hometown region.
