hope this prevents other hopefuls on the left from trying the "i kissed another girl once, i totally understand what it means to be a lesbian in america" gambit
It's whatever, she's always shown terrible political instincts so her 2020 campaign never taking off is perfectly fine by me.

Have they? That would be kind of sad. I hope it isn't so. I like Warren. I will always rock with her. She messed up, yeah, but she's still a progressive, and would vote in the right place. She might get knocked down a peg or two by other progressives, but she'll still be on my pedestal and still be my homegirl and always will be. I got genuine love for her, and I always remember all the comrades.

Did you see the onion tweet I posted? Shits spot on here
Warren is one of those people I side with her most so I'd prefer she be trying to draft legislation anyways. EOs come and go.
When people fall into this kinda shit two years out, I'm just more determined to prepare myself for 4 more years

I haven't followed much of this at all. But if asked for my thoughts, I think it was a mistake to give into Donald Trump's idiocy and take a DNA test, sure. But as near as I can tell, the results of it are consistent with all she ever said, in that she has an ancestor on her mother's side who was a native american. That was her family history passed down through the generations, no other person would even be questioned for having the same story in his or her own family, but because Donald Trump is a fucking moron and the Republican media are his fucking puppets, now we're here playing the game by their rules. Fuck it all.
well if she allowed herself to be pushed into a DNA test that really served no purpose but to hurt her... and we aren't even campaigning yet she ain't built for this
Look if the choice is between her and "very fine people on both sides" I think the choice is pretty clear. But no, I would be very against her being the dem choice for president. And so far it looks like she's finding it difficult to land a constituency.
Just a small tidbit of information, Khashoggi was reportedly chopped into pieces - while still alive. The medical examiner and his team supposedly listened to music while undergoing the 7 minute procedure (only sedating him once he was already on the brink of death).
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

But it will never be.

Fuck it all. That's not how you claim tribal affiliation anywhere in the world lol. It's not just insensitive or tone deaf, it's ignorant as hell.
Tons of people got Cherokee or other Native American blood - that doesn't mean you claim them nor does it mean they claim you. Also, these tribes and groups have been clawing up hill for centuries and one of the constant hindrances they always face is someone trying to claim benefits, rights, or hard earned privileges that they've had to struggle for. And for what in this instance?A cheap co-sign that probably couldve been straight up bought with a cool donation/speech combo.
Another mark on the "could yal just stop?" board.
Not only should a professor know better, but no serious political candidate should be baited into it - and certainly not by Trump lol.

I really hope it isnāt true that it happened while he was alive. When they first said they dismembered him I thought it was once he was dead and to get rid of the body.
Lindsey Graham has weighed in on Elizabeth Warren's DNA test by stating he would probably end up Iranian and "that'd be, like, terrible".

my friend sent me this an hour ago... don't know the source
might be the NYT tho
It took seven minutes for Jamal Khashoggi to die, a Turkish source who has listened in full to an audio recording of the Saudi journalist's last moments told Middle East Eye.
Khashoggi was dragged from the Consul Generalās office at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and onto the table of his study next door, the Turkish source said.
Horrendous screams were then heard by a witness downstairs, the source said.
"The consul himself was taken out of the room. There was no attempt to interrogate him. They had come to kill him,ā the source told MEE.
The screaming stopped when Khashoggi - who was last seen entering the Saudi consulate on 2 October - was injected with an as yet unknown substance.
Salah Muhammad al-Tubaigy, who has been identified as the head of forensic evidence in the Saudi general security department, was one of the 15-member squad who arrived in Ankara earlier that day on a private jet.
Tubaigy began to cut Khashoggiās body up on a table in the study while he was still alive, the Turkish source said.
The killing took seven minutes, the source said.
As he started to dismember the body, Tubaigy put on earphones and listened to music. He advised other members of the squad to do the same.
āWhen I do this job, I listen to music. You should do [that] too,ā Tubaigy was recorded as saying, the source told MEE.
A three-minute version of the audio tape has been given to Turkish newspaper Sabah, but they have yet to release it.
A Turkish source told the New York Times that Tubaigy was equipped with a bone saw.

That is just horrendous.
Sad thing is that nothing will come from this. Saudi Arabia will throw a few people under the bus and that will be good for most major players.
Bloody hell, sounds like something straight out of a movie. The 80s fiction movies i grew up with really is happening in front of my eyes;
imbecile presidents, corruption, lies and torture out of this world.
I just wanna go back to play Super Mario Bros 3. Someone please hold me.

Democrats are unlikely to pursue major climate change legislation if they win the House majority, despite a growing body of evidence suggesting time is running out to address the issue.
This represents a shift in strategy from when House Democrats last controlled the chamber. In 2009, they passed cap-and-trade legislation, which subsequently died in the Democratic-controlled Senate. The game plan for next year, House Democrats say, is more incremental steps and hearings.
With President Trump in the White House and Republicans favored to keep the Senate next year, climate legislation would face stiff headwinds, and pushing it could spark backlash from the right ā both now and after the Nov. 6 midterm elections.
[ā¦]
Not all Democrats share that view. Faced with more data on a warming planet ā and the role of human activity in exacerbating the trend ā some lawmakers want the party to use its would-be majority to push a bold, sweeping package to hike the cost of carbon emissions.
Their urgency has been fueled by a new report from the United Nationsā Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which forecasts impacts like massive coral reef die-offs, increased drought and sea-level rise by 2040 if emissions are not significantly cut by 2030. The reportās authors said current climate policies and the 2015 Paris agreement ā which Trump promised to exit ā are not nearly enough to avoid disaster.
[ā¦]
Progressive groups, a vocal part of Democratsā base, are certain to push for such an aggressive approach ā as will many Democrats who launch 2020 presidential bids. Still, those lawmakers anticipating sweeping climate legislation appear to be in the minority, as more Democrats see a political environment thatās simply too hostile to move a major climate bill.
[ā¦]
Instead, Democrats are eyeing relatively small-ball measures that push energy efficiency, modernize the electric grid to handle more renewable energy, increase incentives for power sources like wind and solar and provide more infrastructure for electric vehicles.
[ā¦]
The failure in 2010 of the Democratsā cap-and-trade bill is still fresh in House Democratsā minds. Republicans won 63 seats and the House majority in 2010, campaigning against Democrats on climate change and ObamaCare.
Polling continually shows that voters rank climate far down on their list of priorities. And although energy prices are lower than they were a decade or so ago, few lawmakers want to be responsible for significant increases in consumersā costs or job losses that could accompany new policies.
Democrats, who are now favored to seize the House, have crafted their campaign message around issues like increasing working-class wages and lowering the cost of prescription drugs. They think the kitchen-table agenda will resonate more effectively, particularly in conservative-leaning districts where voters tend to be wary of the economic impact of climate legislation.
Sensationalist headline aside itās a fairly reported article. The only way climate legislation makes it through the White House is to get rid of the person currently living in it
How's that work when your platform shifts to the people who don't prioritize that issue?

Being that I've largely tapped out on Twitter, and I haven't listened to political podcasts in months, I have no idea how the run up to the midterms is going. On one hand it would be super depressing if the Democrats didn't take back at least one chamber (and if I had my choice, it would be the Senate), but on the other, my expectations several months ago weren't super high anyway due to the uphill battle in each chamber.
Of course, that's only when I don't let my general nihilism win out. None of this fucking matters in the grand scheme.
Iāve just been reading on the place that shall not be named and this take is astounding
So, you like having freedom of speech? Not a big fan of slavery? Don't want to be killed for being a Muslim? Would prefer Trump was kept to only two terms in office? All of that could very well go away.

House likely. Iām personally glad I may get to vote Rorbacher out.
Senate looked plausible but now not likely. Iām betting GOP picks up one. Claire looks toast. Bredesen looks unlikely. Beto rolling in record breaking cash and burning it in flames as heās a long shot. Arizona is slipping but still up. Nevada loves Trump.
GOP got a bump around Kav. Dems screaming in joy McConnel just went on record wanting to cut Medicare though.
