Sen. Ted Cruz had a different response, arguing that people were rushing to judgment on the case and that O’Rourke and other Democrats were “quick to always blame the police officer.”https://www.google.co.jp/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/identities/2018/9/18/17874868/ted-cruz-beto-orourke-botham-jean-shooting-dallas
“It may well be that two lives were destroyed that night,” Cruz said. “That obviously the individual that was at home in his apartment and found himself murdered — that is horrific and a nightmare.”
He added, “She may have been in the wrong and if a jury of her peers believes that she behaved wrongly then she’ll face the consequences. But I don’t think we should jump to conclusions.”
All that's missing from here is she feared for her life and what about black on black crime?
On my part, it's time for some devastating reflection: I know way too many Latinos and other immigrants... that are Republicans... and, like, proudly.
I know a whole Vietnamese family that proudly voted for Trump. VIETNAMESE. In places like Fairfax, Northern Virginia, I've personally witnessed "Chinese Republicans" hosting a cookout/picnic at a community park. They were intentionally dressed up exactly like some JC Penney manikins, throwing baseballs around and playing catch with baseball gloves on, and other stuff that white people do.
I used to think it was a bad thing that eligible voters stayed home all the time. But if the Latinos and other immigrants that I'm becoming aware of hadn't thought that they have better things to do with their time, well then damn, Trump probably would had just might have gotten the popular vote as well, and that's... horrifying.
Man, the whole entire Western hemisphere is pretty much and might as well be a free-for-all, I'm now convinced. There are no rules. There never were. It's all been a charade. I've been "red-pilled".
I'm now at the point where I wonder if I should no longer be mystified as to how Trump won, but rather, I should be more mystified as to how Obama ever won, and won twice at that. It was all a lie. We were living a lie. A catastrophic charade.

By Flutter Go To PostI'm surprised some people are just figuring out that plenty of non-whites are conservative.
I'm just surprised that "plenty" is an understatement.
Even within the minorities, Democrats are a minority.
How the fuck did Democrats ever win anything?
Independents all think this is a joke?
The whole world is conservative. Some places fool you into thinking they’re progressive but it’s only because they’re 99% white.
Reminds me of when Switzerland denied the muslim couple permanent residence status and reading people agreeing because they were in a way, sexist.

By Flutter Go To PostI'm surprised some people are just figuring out that plenty of non-whites are conservative. If it wasn't for racism the Republican party would be a big tent party.
Most people will fall back on antiquiated bigoted beliefs because... reasons.
I do believe that people are willing to grow into better people, but only after the legal/societal frameworks that hold up bigoted views are broken down. There's too many people willing to challenge the circles they've been born into though... Just look at the lack of outrage from catholics from the all the pedo scandals.

Flabber has it right, and I've been thinking about what he said once here before.
People are too caught up with attitudinal racism when more pressure has to be given to institutionalised racism.

I’m sure everyone wants to run against Trump, should be easy winning if you’re not an idiot like Hillary and fuck it up
US President Donald Trump has said he does not "have an attorney general" in his fiercest attack yet on Jeff Sessions.
In an interview with Hill.TV, Mr Trump renewed criticism of Mr Sessions' decision to step aside from the inquiry into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
He also said he was unhappy with Mr Sessions' response to immigration.

Idk about all that.
From what I can tell, only Michael Bloomberg really wants that smoke. 5'8" brehs got that Napoleon complex working in their favor sometimes.
Anybody else running against him would have to either kowtow to the far-right (and then we're back at square one), or pull some Borgia shit with the superdelegates in order to be the new Democrat Pope.

The deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, suggested last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and he discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.
Mr. Rosenstein made these suggestions in the spring of 2017 when Mr. Trump’s firing of James B. Comey as F.B.I. director plunged the White House into turmoil. Over the ensuing days, the president divulged classified intelligence to Russians in the Oval Office, and revelations emerged that Mr. Trump had asked Mr. Comey to pledge loyalty and end an investigation into a senior aide.
Mr. Rosenstein was just two weeks into his job. He had begun overseeing the Russia investigation and played a key role in the president’s dismissal of Mr. Comey by writing a memo critical of his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. But Mr. Rosenstein was caught off guard when Mr. Trump cited the memo in the firing, and he began telling people that he feared he had been used.
Mr. Rosenstein made the remarks about secretly recording Mr. Trump and about the 25th Amendment in meetings and conversations with other Justice Department and F.B.I. officials. Several people described the episodes, insisting on anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. The people were briefed either on the events themselves or on memos written by F.B.I. officials, including Andrew G. McCabe, then the acting bureau director, that documented Mr. Rosenstein’s actions and comments.
[...]
Mr. Rosenstein disputed this account.
“The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” he said in a statement. “I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”
A Justice Department spokeswoman also provided a statement from a person who was present when Mr. Rosenstein proposed wearing a wire. The person, who would not be named, acknowledged the remark but said Mr. Rosenstein made it sarcastically.
But according to the others who described his comments, Mr. Rosenstein not only confirmed that he was serious about the idea but also followed up by suggesting that other F.B.I. officials who were interviewing to be the bureau’s director could also secretly record Mr. Trump.
Mr. McCabe, who was later fired from the F.B.I., declined to comment. His memos have been turned over to the special counsel investigating whether Trump associates conspired with Russia’s election interference, Robert S. Mueller III, according to a lawyer for Mr. McCabe. “A set of those memos remained at the F.B.I. at the time of his departure in late January 2018,” the lawyer, Michael R. Bromwich, said of his client. “He has no knowledge of how any member of the media obtained those memos.”
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostThis is why we have to stop paying attention to NYT articles even when they're bad for Trump.
ABC already has another story sourced from someone in the actual room who said Rosenstein's comments were sarcastic and a response to something Wray had said.
The NYT story smells like a trump plant. Wray is denying the leak. Nobody in the room leaked it. Could be documents Nunes is privy to. Either way it looks like a story designed for political cover to fire Rosenstein.
Unfortunately for Trump, I think this is way past the point of no return. Mueller splitting off portions of the case to the SDNY ensure that portions continue even without him. In the meantime manafort and cohen are squawking (including Cohen to the state AG for NY).
