#1 is Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
Can't complain with most of the list, especially with the top album of the year. Not happy with the new Jens and Ariel Pink missing out. Any other glaring omissions.

No Anathema. :(
However, I didn't know that Sampha had released and album so I've added that to my Google Play library for future listening.

By Adam Go To Post… Yet again a list dominated by pop and hip hop fluff.exactly
There are some pretty massive indie darlings like The National and Dirty Projectors missing as well. Not happy with Lorde and Vince Staples (the new album was weak) being in the list at all, but it's a decent one in my opinion. I do feel like most album lists are becoming too pop oriented.
For me Relatives in Descent by Protomartyr is probably AOTY. Other than that I also quite liked Grizzly Bear, The National, LCD Soundsystem, IDLES and Kendrick.
Meh, most of those albums aren't even all that. For an amazing year we had in music, its sad to see these music website be all myopic about their music recommendations. The likes of Zola Jesus, Girl Pool and even St Vincent all had a disappointing outings compared to their previous.
Good to see Laural Halo, Jay Som and Kelly Lee Owens at least on the list.

Jay Som is in my top 5, but it’s safe to say Pitchfork’s pool of music they’re pulling from is miles wider and leagues deeper than mine.
The War on Drugs, LCD Soundsystem, Big Thief, Jay Som, Jlin is my “off the top of my head” top 5. Loved all those albums. If I can have a 6th it’d be Kelela’s Tear Me Apart.
I generally don’t listen to too much pop or hip-hop, but Kendrick is still our lord and savior in my book. Lorde I could take or leave, I probably don’t give her enough credit.

I always use this list to find new music so Im glad it's out.
But Big Fish Theory is in no way a top 10 album. What a disappointment that was.
Edit: Flower Boy top 10 too? Eeeewww
Edit: SZA at #2 wtf

Pitchfork got the TDE bag.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostWow the right Future album made it onto the list.HNDRXX was underrated, maybe a byproduct of releasing two albums at the same time.
I'm SHOCKED
That Vince Staples album is rightfully getting torn apart. It's not terrible just mediocre as hell.
