I know the GT2 RS is the top dog of the 911 line and that will always be a thing to be respected and feared but the GT3 cars have always been favorites of mine. And even though the 911 turbo cars still sound good there really is no comparison to how the GT3 cars sound. My last visit to the Porsche Experience Center I got to hear a 911 turbo and a GT3 RS going around the track at the same time and that really cemented my everlasting love for the GT3. It's just visceral and it's sound has physical presence and power while emitting an incredible tone. I really can't explain it very well except to say that I understand why people pay big money to be able to have that sound on tap (and the rest of the car with it).
Well, I put a a thousand miles on the new GT3 and am selling a GT2RS Weissach to the same friend in 5 months so I'll do a real life comparison after some seat time.
Hmmm, maybe I should rent a Porsche while I'm in LA instead of a GTI...
Yeah, 2NE1 was great. Check out BlackPink, they're basically the sequel to 2NE1... same talent agency, same producers, same genre of music... I personally don't like em as much as I used to but they might fit your bill.
By matmanx1 Go To PostMissed most of the KPop conversation this weekend but I discovered 2NE1 earlier this year and was immediately saddened that they are no longer together. "I am the Best" is a fantastic song!

Yay, picked up the Z today.
Booo, it rained as I was there so I couldn't really inspect very well. I inspected it and only found 2-3 small things that they will take care off whenever I bring it back. One was some extra minor-ish orange peel on the side of the front bumper, 2 was a weird little blemishy...something on the rear deck (only I'd notice it too), and 3 was a little pinhole dimple on the spoiler (again, shit only I'd notice). And the last 2 things I only noticed in my garage when inspecting it.
I can't wash the car for at least 10 days, which sucks, because there's oily residue splattered on the car that I'm dying to get off. But also, it has swirl marks from all the polishing and compounding and I can't wait to get the car fully detailed and glass coated. It is looking terrific finally.
Pics to come tomorrow.

By reilo Go To PostOh wow, the S5 Sportback is STUNNING in person. Like I am legit taken aback by how much I like it.
Neighbors a few houses down have an A5 sportback, pictures don't really do the b9 platform justice. Even the coupe looks way better in person.
I see the B8 every so often and it's still fucking gorgeous and pinnacle of Audi design, but the new S5 is growing on me. Wouldn't be a bad daily.
I really like the whole "5" lineup from Audi. They had an RS5 in the show room when I went to pick up the TTRS and it really is great to see in person. A5, S5, RS5 are all pretty good as far as I am concerned.
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the way the S5 Sportback looks as well. For a single car for a small family it'd be a killer choice I think. Pretty damn quick, decent gas mileage.
Man, didn't realize how price competitive the S5 and RS5 have gotten. Not too many options, either and kinda tops out at $80k for the RS5.
Yeah, an RS5 Coupe or Sportback in Sonoma Green is probably my current realistic dream car right now.
Speaking of Audi, that TT-RS is too damn slow, and you need an ECU tune, matman 😂

And it's back!
Front bumper needs some minor wetsanding in 2 spots, and I found some other really minor things (that only I would notice, tbh). But the shop actually encouraged me to inspect the car and bring it back next week, because there will always be little things missed and they offer a 5 year warranty on their work too (excluding bumper damage, obviously).
Anyway, the car looks terrific overall. I'm very happy it finally looks clean.
In RS guise and non-bland colors, it's a good looking car. Headlights are pretty boring though.

Test drove the Accord and CX-5 today. I liked the CX-5 but it kind of paled in comparison to the Accord. The Honda's interior and display we're way better. The interior/tech of the Mazda felt like a much older car even though they had identitical years and mileage. The only negative for the Accord is that there wasn't a digital speedometer, which was surprising.

You know what to do here.
By Christberg Go To PostSpeaking of Audi, that TT-RS is too damn slow, and you need an ECU tune, matman 😂I'm still brand new to a car with this much power and I'm not yet used to how quickly this thing gets up to (illegal) speed so I really can't conceive of adding more. It will pull just over 1g on launch completely stock and is already borderline violent from about 3500rpm up if you stomp on it. Those ECU tunes are for the real thrill-seekers and I'm not that brave yet. =)

Speaking of leaving glue all over the floor, Singer continues to kill it with these restomod Porsches. I mean, look at that gearbox

Clean 370z there, Alpha. Definitely looks way better now.

The Accord has been the best vehicle in its class for like 15 years now, and rightly so, provided you think the base motor has good enough acceleration.

By Christberg Go To PostClean 370z there, Alpha. Definitely looks way better now.
Thanks, folks. I'm really happy it looks this nice too now. I left a few minor things, like a tiny paint chip on the rear 1/4 panel (I'll just fill it in) and a small ding on the other rear 1/4 panel. Imperceptible stuff to 99.9%. I don't want to always fret about having a perfect car anymore.
Next week the car is getting sound insulation done in the rear wheel wells and rear trunk. I want it to be easier on the ears with the road noise. And then I'll add to the exhaust + tune it. Tuning on 370Zs has come a long way since I've had mine (you can tune exhaust noise now which makes me very giddy) - I'm going to try to achieve 375HP at the crank.
After that, new tires and probably wheels. The stock wheels are curbed and paint has gone bad in certain spots.
Looking good, Alpha.
Still debating whether to fix my bumpers now or later...
Front got scratched last year and the rear got tapped a couple years ago...

I've been doing a lot of looking into leases, how they are calculated and such and figured I would share with y'all the most useful things I found.
- Lease Value Calculator: gives you a rough idea of if a lease is a good deal for a particular make and model. The parent site also has some good information
- Calculate your own lease payment: a guide by Edmunds
- Lease Payment Calculator: a spreadsheet-based calculator I created using the Edmunds guide above. Clicking it will make you a copy of the sheet so that you can change the values in the top box to match your situation.
- Sales Tax By Zip: useful if you forget the sales tax in your zip code
Decent condition E30s for a reasonable price are, to no surprise, a lot harder to come by nowadays. Might be a struggle for me to find one in good condition for a reasonable price ($5-10k) that I can daily.
Bah I really want a nice little project that I can deal with. Might just end my friendship with Alpha and buy a E36 M3 Coupe... they are so much more available and accessible.
So one of our very own Slaent brethren has ordered a new 2019 Porsche through me!
Anyone care to guess who the lucky individual is and what they've got? :D

i love the 6 series GC. Probably my favorite and most wanted (obtainable) car. I actually love the coupe sedan look in general. 8 series sort of makes it (6 series)look dated, but i made this 4 series GC and it's basically perfect for me

I don't really see the appeal of the coupe sedan look. Is there really much of a difference between the 4 series GC and a 3 series? Is it just a slightly different rear end design? I would personally get the 3 series over the 4 series GC.
edit: oh, I didn't know its actually a hatchback, which is kinda cool, but even then I'd get a 3 series wagon if I wanted more room.
The roofline and rear of the car is far sexier in the 4-series GC. The regular 3-series has a bulkier roofline that makes it look stubby towards the back.

This. The lines are completely different, and it's a hatch like you mentioned. I'm surprised they don't have a M version of it tbh. I think the exterior and interior color (BMW Individual option) combo on my build looks really good. White might be a bitch to maintain, but that's why I'd have my Accord for certain days.
Came out to 65k.
Congrats Kibner.
Welcome to SLAENT-Gold.
