Who the hell in Maserati approved the Levante?
I thought nobody could top the Type-R in worst looking car in recent history but jfc Maserati knocked it out of the park.
I literally gagged when I saw it in my rear view mirror.

Yep, Levante is gross, alright. Top 5 ugliest cars currently in production probably. Also, the less said about the CTR the better. Which is strange, because the normal Civics all look just fine, but hey, it's sporty so we have to whack that SOB with the ugly puffy stick.
Anybody seen Evo X around? I'm gonna need his help with a possible car found in Chicago. I think some of you have him on Xbox Live?
Seriously. Couple lower octane + heat with a high compression motor. They don't like that.
By reilo Go To PostWorst part about Cali is the max of 91.

By AlphaSnacks Go To PostFunny, because my neighbor was saying the same thing about his M2 after we took our cars through some twisties.I might change my mind when the time comes to actually sign on the dotted line but for now I am looking for something that is fun, capable, fast AND an excellent road trip car for my wife and I while not being too large or heavy. The M2 is an excellent size, looks great, sounds good and has plenty of performance for the street. The stiff suspension that is not adaptable (Mustangs and Camaro's are coming with magnetic shocks these days and BMW can't provide them for the M2?) was already a pretty serious mark against it in my book but that tiny gas tank just might take it out of the running altogether.
I imagine it's a packaging thing. The car is pretty small. Looks like 235s have the same thing.
If I can talk my wife into replacing her aging Altima sometime in the next year or so with a car that could do comfortable road trips then I might buy something that is just a sports car but getting her to part with a car that she likes and is still running well is like trying to take money from Ebeneezer Scrooge.
Well, in defense of your wife, those old Altimas drove good, were reliable and were pretty damn nice on the inside too. I actually miss the way a lot of those old cars drove.
You should look at an M240i. Way more common, softer suspension but not so much that it doesn't still drive good. Of course, if it were me I'd be looking at a 330xi or an S4 instead so I could get 4 doors.
My girlfriend is still on an old 99-00 Rav4 6MT that I'm slowly working onto the chopping block. That thing is surprisingly fun to drive but the broken window and sunroof motors and rotted window seals are kind of a deal breaker for me. The rest of it is still holding together just fine mechanically though, especially the engine. Damn Toyota 4 bangers are something else, figure that SOB probably has another 100K miles in it or maybe more.

The S4 is worth a look as is the RS3 and maybe a few other Audi products. And as long as my wife is happy and the car is running well then I really cant complain about her situation either.

I'd still rock an M2. It's not a deal breaker to me about having to fill it up 2 days earlier than normal.
I have a Texaco across the street. Sometimes texaco has 95 but mine just has the 91 piss. Motor seems fine with it but the factory calls for higher. Oh well it's a toyota. Should live.
I don't remember if we've talked about this review series or not but it has gotten to be one of my favorite. The reviews are on the long side but they are so in-depth and so well produced that it makes it worth the time investment. Also check out his review on the Mustang GT-350 sometime. He touches on some things that not a lot of other reviews touch on including putting the cars up on a lift and looking very critically at the suspension and mechanical bits.

Shame the Alpine A110 isn’t coming stateside. Such a fun looking car.

Yeah, Portlanders are kinda weird about that stuff. I get it, but come on, it's like the only place left in the country where this is the case. In their defense, when I moved out here from CO I discovered that having somebody pump your gas while you piss 'n get road beers really adds up right quick on travel time.
Drove a '15 GLK350 with the AMG package on it today. Decided to buy it, was basically new and really damn cheap. Thing drives really awesome for an SUV, has a sick interior and with the appearance package and headlights it really takes the thing out of chic cute-ute and butches it up a ton. Will take some pictures after they deliver it tomorrow.

By the way, folks. I feel like I'm hitting a dead end everywhere I search for a car. It's getting pretty annoying. I found what seems like a very clean car in NY, it has 100K flat on it. Has all of its maintenance done. Clean CarFax. It's a 2002 6MT, but has the LED tails already. Body is clean too, has all 3 keys, all books, and all service records.
If I had any concerns, it's that it's a 4 owner car - which is perhaps not a big deal for a 16 year old car? And the 100K mileage. I know it's just a number, but it's engrained in my head a little and I need to get over it. I can't afford a 30K mile car.

Body is clean too, has all 3 keys, all books, and all service records. On a car that old maintenance and proper service becomes a lot more important than actual mileage. Yeah it would be nice to find a low miles example but those will be far more rare and more expensive and still might need a lot of refreshing. At least on a 100k+ car that is up to date on its service you know you can jump in and drive right away and can probably have a pretty clear idea of what it will need in terms of replacement parts. Long story short, I would rather have an older 100k mile car that was clean and had great service records than a 30k mile car of the same year that had had very little done to it or missing/ incomplete records.

100K mileage on a 16 year old car is actually better than 30K in my book. One of those is what you'd expect on a second toy car at 6500ish miles a year. If it has full service records showing that the car has been properly maintained that's an ideal find. The other one almost certainly means the thing was crated for several years. I don't think I need to explain how potentially bad that is.
TLDR the Oregon thing - I'm sure there are a bunch of folks who have never pumped their gas before, but we're also talking about a law that only affects rural stations. Which if you'd actually seen one of these things you wouldn't want to stop there for gas if you could avoid it, anyway. We're talking gas pumps from the 80s with no credit card on them that only need an attendant 2 days a week. You know, Texas Chainsaw Massacre style joints. Last time I stopped at one of these there were a bunch of loose chickens running around and some dumbass dudebro fucking with them. I still regret not hanging out long enough to watch him get his ass kicked by a farm animal.

Tesla Inc delivered 1,550 of its new Model 3 electric cars in the fourth quarter, missing Wall Street expectations as it tries to overcome production issues that have hampered the roll out of its most affordable sedan.
Shares of the Palo Alto, California-based company fell 1.7 percent to $312 in after-market trading.
The electric-car maker on Wednesday pushed back for the second time its target of producing 5,000 Model 3 sedans per week to the end of the second quarter.
Analysts had expected Tesla to deliver 4,100 Model 3 sedans in the fourth quarter, according to financial data and analytics firm FactSet.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The estimates for Model 3 deliveries by different brokerages varied widely. While Evercore analysts estimated 5,800 deliveries, Cowen analysts expected just 2,250.
Yep, not at all surprised. Portland is a frequent whipping boy of right wing losers with way too much time on their hands. Give it another week and we'll either get a story about Antifa "burning the town down" or about homeless people crawling out of the gutters like cockroaches and encroaching on nice folks just trying to make a living. You'd think the place was a third world war zone from outside sources but actually it's just a very friendly, very granola, hipster ridden town. With a bunch of great dive bars and breakfast joints.

Are the Type-R wheels even worth anything?
They don't even look anything special to me... in fact if I had a CTR I'd probably swap them out for some RPF1's or TE37's.
Speaking of wheels, what do Germans usually use? Lol.
I'm leaning towards gold/bronze RPF1's since I've always wanted them but I'm open to anything really. It just needs to be a light(under 20lbs) and something with thin spokes... the pizza spokes are too damn hard to maintain.

I'm starting to crave a 2008-2010 Cayenne GTS Manual, or a 2nd gen V6 Manual to do Overland treatment on. Would be my daily, but more importantly a winter beater that could still haul a smallish bumper pull horse trailer.

I like those wheels, and I'm typically not too huge on 5 spokes.
*edit*
Almost fell down because I had to get out of my car to pump gas and the ground is a sheet of ice here in Sunriver, OR. I don't know how I'll manage.

Yeah, the 5 spoke wheels, premium headlight package and running boards fix most of the chick-ness that it has in base trim, I think. Looks a lot more truck-ish like this.
Those headlights are PHENOMENAL too. They've got some kind of automatic leveling and range control that really kills it.

Dont you still have to get out to pay? Am I missing something here?

Ok so the front end isn't beautiful but the rest of it isn't bad and those things are built crazy tough. When I was shopping for my current 4x4 I test drove an S that had just over 100k miles on it (I think it was an 04 or 05) and it didn't squeak, rattle or exhibit any looseness or flex anywhere. It just felt tank-like in its solidity (very similar to my Lexus GX in that regard) albeit with more Porsche like steering.
Even in S guise it was not fast though. The 1st Gen Cayenne was very heavy so even with the V8 it was more like quick than fast.

But, no, you used to sit in your warm or cool car while someone took your card and then pumped your gas.

We'll see if I can convince the wife to sell the horse trailer for a bumper pull so we can also finally sell our Tundra. Would make a Cayenne + bumper pull pretty achievable.
Definitely don't need it to be speedy, but the extra towing power from the GTS would be nice.
