The new Supra is an abomination, I had a 94 TT, and seeing that piece of garbage in person is just heartbreaking.

Mazda 3. VW Golf. Kia Forte.
Honda Civic is an honorable mention, but it's ugly as sin. Don't buy anything Nissan, it's all old and outdated trash.
Also, what's your budget?
I kinda wish I went with a Mazda 3 instead of my Hyundai years ago, but the extra interior room was important to me at the time.
Speaking of the new Mazda3s:
Although if you want a Mazda3, I would highly advise to wait until the next generation SkyActiv-X is in these cars. However, that'll come with a premium price bump.
The 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback is quite simply one of the best cars I've ever driven. During my week with one, specifically a range-topping Premium package version for $31,335, I struggled to come up with bad things to say apart from elements like rear visibility and back seat headroom that are directly related to its distinctive, avant garde design. That's an acceptable tradeoff in my book.
So many of the new 3's elements can serve as a measuring stick for other cars. Not just its specific compact hatchback/sedan class, but all other cars, period. I had the Mercedes CLS 450 at the exact time, a car I deeply appreciate and that cost $69,000 more, and yet it was a struggle to decide which I wanted to drive.
As it is, the 3's standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder produces 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, which is substantially better than virtually every other base engine in the segment. Its throttle response should be copied by everyone, as should the steering. OK, maybe not Porsche, which I keep finding myself drawing comparisons to whenever experiencing a new Mazda. Take that as the compliment it seems to be.https://www.autoblog.com/2019/08/12/2019-mazda3-signature-hatchback-review/

Oh, you're going used with a $10k budget? That's good to know. A Civic will be a good bet then especially if you're seeking reliability.
98%.
Which is a fucking shame coz that looks pretty good, especially for an Acura.
Also can someone talk me out of a 2014 335i(40k miles) or a 2016 428i(69k miles)? Both come with a manual, but also due to some "perks", pricing will also lean in my favor.
The only thing stopping me right now is that I have grand vacation plans at the end of the year so I gotta get my priorities straight. :\

I miss my BMW ;_;
soon I will return
Working next to a BMW dealer definitely makes me want one too. T__T
By Kibner Go To PostI would probably wait and go enjoy your vacation first.
Yeah that's pretty much the plan.
Tbh, I'm also quite interested in a Golf R. They're gonna stop selling it next year as VW will introduce the next-generation Golf next year so they're going to shut down production of the MK7 Golf to retool it for the new gen. :(
I'd rather get the Golf R, personally.
Also, planning a trip to London for next month, lads. Any recommendations?

Car related or just in general?
That's the same heft quoted in a leaked document Mustang6g posted a year ago, but few enthusiasts wanted to believe that leak because of spelling errors and, uh, 4,225 pounds. These 700HP American cars are stupid 😂
The weight makes the GT500 about 335 pounds heavier than the 650-horsepower Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, or about 225 pounds lighter than the 797-hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Inside the Ford family, the new GT500 is around 350 pounds more than the previous 662-hp GT500, and roughly 420 pounds more than the current Shelby GT350. The 56:44 weight distribution front-to-rear will put the GT500's 16.5-inch two-piece front brake rotors on prison labor detail when the going gets fast and twisty.
4000-4500lbs, 56:44 weight distribution? Wtf
Man, after hearing about and learning more and more about various cars, it really does seem down to either the Mazda MX-5 or the Cayman, for my tastes and preferences.

Gotta say, this loaner Macan the dealership hooked me up with is pretty damn rad, even in base form. Has to be easily the best handling SUV I've ever driven, better even than most cars. It also gets obviously better gas mileage than the Mercedes.
Granted, it's pretty damn loaded. Just missing a tow hitch and some of the more absurd high end interior package bits. My only complaint so far is just that the center console bin is LOL small. Doesn't even fit my iPhone XR

More proof Infiniti is stupid:

How about you give us a car that people LIKE first...and THEN give us a coupey-sporty version of it later.

I like it mostly in person. The color isn't great. I also imagine the 4-series will be the looker (especially the GranCoupe) and moreso the M3/M4.
I don't think it looks that bad. The rear end is still VERY much a Lexus/Japanese hybrid. The headlights look pretty aggressive. I do like the dark blue. But all brightwork needs to be blacked out. :)
No idea how I'd feel engaging with the UX of it, but that looks like a nice calming place to be in. Unlike the Model S monstrosity of an interior.
That looks very usable. I like the media controls being closer to the passenger. Fits Porsche's ethos about drivers driving.
Really dig that interior but I'd still rather have physical volume knob and HVAC controls. Final version is really damn close to the concept too, definitely a good thing.
By Kidjr Go To PostWhat Porsche is that?Their electric car, the Taycan.
Oh they're really revealing it on the 4th?
That's interesting... I've heard from certain people that the 911 will hit dealers on the 6th. And apparently the new 911s are already stateside, just that Porsche is holding them at their ports of entry.
I sometimes wonder if the Taycan will cannibalize 911 sales, but according to those certain people, the impact isn't that big enough that Porsche would consider killing off the 911.
Also, the Taycan will supposedly hit CARB states in November/December while the non-CARB states will get them in January/February next year, or was it the other way around? Either way, some people in the USA will get them sooner due to emissions testing or something along those lines.
Anyway, so I spent like 4 days with the Alfa Romeo Giulia and it's a fantastic car.
My biggest complaints are the lack of Carplay, that auto/stop start is the most annoying thing ever(thankfully there's a button to turn it off), and the media player always turned on repeat on my iPhone so I had to turn off repeat everytime I wanted to listen to my music through the car.
The positives are that it's pretty damn fast even if its only got 280hp or whatever, and despite the lack of Carplay, that interior is quite classy. Lastly, that red is stunning, and combined with the Alfa badge... I was getting a lot of stares lmao. The only other time I got that many stares was when I had the chance to drive around a Range Rover in matte black paint a few weeks ago lol.
Honestly, if Alfa could fix their reliability issues, I'd be at an Alfa dealer at the end of the year... and if for some reason Alfa decides to bring the manual tranny along even for the base model, I'd put myself on the waitlist and put a deposit. Thankfully(or not), the chances of this happening are slimmer than a slim jim lol.

I'm actually considering leasing the Guilia, but I want to try the new 1 series and see the new A3 and 2 series GC. I know that they are not the same class of cars, but those 4 are the options for now.
Z is officially for sale, gang.
Posted it to the Florida Z club first 2 days ago. A lot of compliments on it and today somebody reached out, said he was checking if it's still for sale. It is. He's been searching, but isn't sure if he wants to go for a newer Z or save some money on a car like mine. He reached out again a few hours later and wants to drive out about 70 miles to see it. Who knows.
On the other hand, if a private sale does not work out in a few days, Carvana has offered $17K for it...which is amazing for a dealership, and then I benefit from the extra tax savings! And I've found something at Carvana that's really tickling me: a 2013 (and 2014) Audi S6. This is the 4.0L TT motor that makes 420-450HP. The shop that sponsors my events here in town has Audi techs and is owned by a former Audi service manager. So huge help there. But I'd be getting it with the Carvana extended warranty, as well. And one of my friends is the foreman at the local Audi dealer too and gave me a breakdown on these cars.
So there's 2 routes here. I found 2 M3s. One is a 2009 that needs some love, but the price is good and it has mods that I'd remove asap and make some money off them. The other M3 is a 2012 priced 4K more, but from a not-so-great dealership...but my friend works there and tells me to inspect it thoroughly, it could be good. Carfax is clean on it. Both have similar mileage. The 2013 would be more reliable. But my shop ALSO has a new tech who was the shop foreman at BMW of Tampa. And he was also an M-specialist.
Route 2, remove the mods off the car on Wednesday (have an apt already) trade it to Carvana and take the Audi S6 with warranty. And sell the mods (about $1500 worth). I'm a bit torn, tbh.

Is the M3 a coupe and a manual combo? If so that's quite the stark contrast in style of car between those two.
By reilo Go To PostIs the M3 a coupe and a manual combo? If so that's quite the stark contrast in style of car between those two.
No the M3s are DCT, I'd like for my wife to put some mileage on the car too. One of the M3s needs lovin...previous owner put carbon fiber bullshit on it, including headlight eyelids and a poorly double sided spoiler. And the awful mirror covers and interior. Yuck. And it also has (what sounds like) a full Fabspeed exhaust and I believe intakes. I'd take all of that shit off and sell it for $3K+ easily. Just the Fabspeed muffler is $1500. Insane. I was able to trace down the previous owner by Googling the VIN. Local, young kid, traded it in for a track ready Porsche 911S formerly owned by the head of the local Porsche chapter here.
But that M3 would need a thorough look through, wheels are a bit curbed, paint would need to be immediately detailed (which won't cost me a thing) and some other stuff. The more expensive 2013 M3 I haven't seen. It's new inventory for the dealer.

Yep. The only issue I see watching the lap is the top speed is very clearly governed at 160 MPH, which appears to be about the only thing stopping it from keeping up with the M5 comps/Panamera Turbos/Giulia QVs of the world. It clearly has a boatload of torque and handles great. Add another 20MPH in the back straight and voila.
