By Lunatic Go To PostUsed to do a lot of home improvement and yard work on the weekends plus you need one if you want to launch your ski or boat. Probably going to need one by the time I am 40.
Iβm getting a boat when the big bonus hits. Hopefully April.
By Smokey Go To PostLet me catch a all black or dark gray ford raptor
I really like them, but it feels overkill for the amount and type of off-roading I do. Plus Iβm not trying to wreck my 75k truck lol. See too many dudes break shit in the desert
I've always appreciated jeeps from afar, but have never ridden in one. They also scare the hell out of me when I think about potentially getting into an accident with one.
They look cool as fuck, though.

I like Jeeps too, but if I'm going for the boxy off roader, I'm going with a classic.
I don't like lowered trucks much but that ford is pretty nice
Older Jeep Wranglers are horrible to drive on the road. Ever since the mid 2000's redesign they got better, but still not great.
Not bad
By reilo Go To PostBetter than the initial leaks but that interior is worse than a CamarosI want to like American cars but fuck me the fit and finish of the interior is always garbage.
By reilo Go To PostBetter than the initial leaks but that interior is worse than a Camaros
maybe it looks better in person!
By reilo Go To PostBetter than the initial leaks but that interior is worse than a CamarosYeah I saw the pic, commented, clicked the article, scrolled down and was like ehhhhh lol.
I really like the exterior though. Still feels like a vette even with the massive change
By reilo Go To PostMaybe you've been an old white man all along if you think that
Lol π
I was driving in downtown earlier and two cars up was a dually F-250 and it doesn't even fit the goddamn lanes. Both the outer rear tires were literally on top of the line markers. π€¦ββοΈ
The best part? Not only did it look like it never even saw a piece of dirt in its lifetime, I also saw it turn into some gated apartments downtown, so I assume the driver lives there. If that's the case, I don't have enough facepalms for that... like why drive a dually if you live in some fancy ass apartment downtown instead of a ranch in the middle of nowhere? I'd actually understand why you'd need a dually if you lived in the middle of nowhere and tow cargo but downtown? It's a total waste imo lol.
And that new Corvette is nice I guess. I see shades of Lambo, new NSX, and Camaro(especially the rear).
Oh apparently this starts at $60k? Bruh, that sounds like a fucking bargain if true.

I was guessing more like 70k, which I've seen mentioned in a few articles.
The current base Vette starts at 56k. There's no way the C8 with the body, mid engine, etc is only 4k more....
260 less HP (with perf exhaust) than outgoing ZR1 , and yet still sub 3 secs?

The new C8 will have a 0-60 mph time of less than 3 seconds. Chevrolet isn't quoting an exact time yet, but considering the outgoing ZR1 needed 755 hp to clock in at 2.8 seconds, that's mighty impressive.
We'll start with the obvious: the engine itself. Welcome to the new LT2. It's still a 6.2-liter V8 and, at least in this initial flavor, it eschews forced induction. Where the base C7 made 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, however, this new one does 495 hp and 470 lb-ft -- or it will with the optional performance exhaust, at least. Without said exhaust, output numbers drop to 490 and 465

Smokey learning about mechanical grip.
The 911 been a sub-3.0 car for a while now despite never cracking the 600HP club.

By Smokey Go To PostIsn't the current 911 lineup all turbo tho?No. Just the 718 Cayman/Boxster (minus the GTR).
e: I'm actually wrong about this... the 911's on Porsche's website all show as twin turbo charged 6s
Put myself on the reserve list at the dealership up the street. π
Pricing should be available Aug 19

All 911s (save for the GT3) been turbo for 3 years now.
Also 0-60 don't mean shit. That just measures traction. If you want a feel or understanding of power, you look at 1/4 mile trap speed. Anything over 120MPH is supercar territory. I full well expect the Corvette be in the 11s doing something like 120-121MPH.
No manual transmission though. Sad.

For Smokey's reference (and future gloating), my 718 Cayman does a 1/4 mile right at or slightly under 13 seconds with a trap speed of ~110 mph. At least, according to my brief googling.

Alpha san, thanks
I remember the fear of the c7 z06 killing people because of the power, and I guess they did fuk that up to where it could've happened, but that was before the HP wars really got started , and where they are today.
Dealership called back quick af. He stated they won't start building until Dec and first units not expected until Feb/March 2020.
I'm telling ya, once you drive a mid-engine, it's hard to want to drive anything else. If your thing is about stability and control, anyway.
By reilo Go To PostDon't forget to own a V8 at some point. That's what trucks are for! :v
The taillights...I really hate them. And the exhaust tips look like they're from Autozone.
The rest of the car is a 7, maybe an 8. But the rear brings it down to a 6.
Edit: I also hate the way the spoiler looks.

Honestly will reserve judgement until I see it in person but from the pics the rear is a bit frumpy.
The rear end gives me similar aesthetic vibes to the current Civic's rear. I don't know how I feel about it but I don't think it will age well.
The entire interior is trash.
The infotainment screen looks like it was forgotten during the design phase and they went "oh shit we need a touchscreen!" so they added it in the worst possible place that's obstructed by the steering wheel and cramped in that center console.
The row of buttons to the right of the touchscreen? What the fuck.
The steering wheel? Hideous.
And the user interface is straight out of a Jitterbug smh

You can configure this car without that cheap spoiler. It actually looks much nicer. Now...to fix the interior. Why they chose such a weirdly shaped wheel is weird. Fighter planes inspiration and all be damned.
Not opposed to a row of buttons. Porsche does it. However, it's on the driver's side. No idea why they put them on the side of the passenger. By habit, there's a good chance the passenger will grip that area and press who knows what. That bothers me more than the screen. As long as the UI is functional, I don't really care too much about that.
I'm looking forward to see the used market for this 4-5 years down the line. You can buy a '14 base C7 for like under $40K right now... I wonder if the market will remain the same at that point... I'd probably get one if so lol.
Where the hell did you find this picture? My god it's terrible I can't help but laugh and gag lmao.

The Corvette has the most inconsistent cycle of new generations of any car I can think of. The shortest living Vette was the C2 with 5 years. The longest was the C3 with 15 years. Insane. Yet the C7 lasted "only" 6 years.
I just watched the newest Comedians in Cars with Eddie Murphy as the guest. Along with Larry David, this may have been the best episode of the show. But also one of the best talk show interviews I've seen. Eddie still has his timing and he is still, very clearly, one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) comedians of all time.
Netflix is talking about offering him $80M for a few stand up specials. I'd love to see it become reality. But the interview does talk about throwing money at comedy and complicating things. Very interesting.
And damn, the shit he says about Bill Cosby trying to...idk...whiten (?) Eddie up is so fucking degrading. Cosby had such a fucked up complex about how black entertainers should act it's shocking.
