PSY, bruh.... please!
Ant man both of those Iron Man movies are sooooooooooo booooooooring.
At least MoS has that Smallville scene.

By Laboured Go To PostMoS has scenes? Its all it has. Cool scenes. Or moments?Or scenes? Idk
BatmanvSuperman is trash and I dont have any desire to really rewatch anything from kt but MoS? I'll watch the Smallville fight on YouTube, then end up watching the oil rig scene, then the bar scene etc.
Any idea what this needs to gross to make a profit? $300m budget + marketing + theatres cut.
All the DCCU films have been trash.

I'll slightly give you the Smallville fight. Can't be on board about the oil rig and bar scene because I don't even remember those, and can't watch the video currently to jog my memory. I will say that the Birdy the Mighty homage that Snyder went with for the end of that movie isn't good. Because if you're being totally honest the most memorable thing of Man of Steel is the neck snapping and the subsequent scream in anguish over his actions.
I cant remember any scene from like, the last 5 marvel movies tbh.
Oh wait, spiderman showing up in civil war was cool.

This is 100%
By reilo Go To PostCaptain America 1 was trash. The second half of that movie is filth.Did enough with a very old 1930s story to flesh the basics out and get his origin pretty well (with token WWII buddies etc.). The 2nd half of it was pure tie-in for the Avengers, which really was a shame because they wasted the Red Skull as a villain.

Cap 1 is good.
MoS is better than WW.
IM2 had abl great Sam Rockwell performance so can't really hate it.
Apart from Thor 2 all Marvel movies are better than the DCEU movies.

Movie is pretty decent. My second favorite DC movie behind Wonder Woman. I'm actually kind of excited to see where DCEU goes from here provided they get Snyer the fuck out and hire some competent directors/writers. Really hope the Cyborg and Flash solo movies happen now.

He's directing The Last Photograph soon. I think he's done with big films for awhile.
I just think they need better writers that have broader script authority. How does David S. Goyer still get writing credits?
Makes me laugh that people think the problem is that these characters didn't have solo movies. Like no one ever made a fucken ensemble film before Avengers
By LFMartins86 Go To PostUnder 100M$ US OW, under 300M$ WW. Heads will roll on WB tomorrow morning, this is a poor result.

Tsujihara is the guy who's originally from marketing, right? He's not even a movie guy. Shouldn't be there.

It's even worse. He spent most of his career running or working in the theme parks division of WB.
I'm split on this. For all of the problems that Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman had, they shared one commonality: Snyder's vision on a current American populace coming to grips with a deity, and said deity understanding his own humanity. Execution aside, I found Snyder's almost nihilistic exploration of religion to be heavy handed with the Christian (Catholic) imagery, and a mirror of current America, to be interesting. Personally, I don't care that he didn't stick with how the characters usually navigate their day to day and I don't care that they weren't always filled with sunshine and hope in the face of adversity. So far we got two parts of a trilogy and then Justice League. My question is, where did all of the setup go...? America was on full display for two films and then we get one view of a Trumpian America in the beginning and a ridiculous comic book troop of goons for Wonder Woman to dispatch and that's it. All of the personality of the prior two films felt missing: as if stripped out for something way more formulaic. If you wanted the typical super hero film, that Marvel has made popular, well...you got it.
I don't know whose call it was, when it came to how Wonder Woman was treated. Whoever it was, fucked up. We just got her first film, which treated her with all of the respect in the world, and here the camera was more interested in focusing on her ass (in the most creatively lacking of ways), and making her the punchline of overly juvenile gags and out of place jokes. I don't know if this was Sucker Punch Snyder or Avengers Whedon, but it was bad either way. Shit managed to take me out of the movie whenever it happened. Oh, and on top of that, Martha and Lois were wasted here. Why the fuck didn't we get more Mera? She was a boss for the few seconds she was on screen.
Once you're familiar with his work, Snyder's eye for visuals is something that you can pick out among a sea of these films. So, when I was watching I tried not let my knowledge of the reshoots and production issues color my perspective: didn't take. It felt like a couple of people, who weren't on the same page, shot this. Visually, it didn't feel cohesive. Hell, in terms of narrative, it didn't either.
With all of that said, I still had my fun. I haven't seen the new Thor movie yet, but as far as I'm concerned, Snyder is unmatched when it comes to having super heroes do their thing. Everyone feels powerful in their own way (Wonder Woman needs something aside from her shockwave). When Flash wasn't forcing jokes every two seconds, he was charming. Bruce and Diana's interactions were cool. Cyborg wasn't a total eye-roll inducing bore (I still don't particularly care for his backstory). While basic af, Steppenwolf was there to get shit done instead of making wise cracks and messing about. He felt like an actual threat. The war scene is the coolest shit next to Faora putting the beats on Clark. Slightly agitated and snarky af Superman is fantastic. He got one of the coolest shots in the movie. It's way more formulaic now, at the cost of being interesting, but by the end it's closer to what "everyone" wanted.
Oh yea...where the fuck was Darkseid? We have a movie about the mother boxes and Steppenwolf and we only got ONE (singular) name drop of the Omega Ray using force of nature? No mention of Apokolips or his goon squad? Instead of a teaser with them, we get whatever bs that was after the credits? SCUST.

All the Wonder Woman shit was Whedon. You can tell by the framing. The actors were upset with him about it too.
Anyways, Snyder never really shoots people in an exploitive way. Even in Sucker Punch. There’s no close ups on T & A. He does a good job of not being too gazy. Whedon can’t help himself.

I thought as much, but wasn't 100% sure. Whedon is doing Batgirl next? FFS, after Avengers and this, I'm not looking forward that at all.
You can tell what’s a Whedon shot in a sequence that Snyder shot by the close ups and lighting. Snyder rarely shoots as close as Whedon likes to do.
I didn't like this movie at all. There are some good moments here and there, but I'm just.... I was so ready for this movie to end.
Steppenwolf is the L Master. The original plan was to have him take the L then his headless body gets taken back to Darkseid. Wonder Woman kills him.
What? That's much better than what we got. Hell, that's like something she would have done in the animated films.
That’s something Wonder Woman would do in the comics. She just doesn’t kill regular humans but soldiers, gods, and powerful aliens are fair game
