By LFMartins86 Go To PostSo, how fucking awful is it?
Sonic Forces is an unfinished mixture of Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 06 and Sonic Generations into one poisonous soup, despite brilliant music I cannot recommend the game. I wouldn't be surprised if we have Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain level of development lost here, due to the game relying on an awful Furry character design gimmick instead of focusing on their franchise strengths.
The game throws away franchise staples (lives, intriguing environments and fast-paced level design) for shorter levels with hardly any structure, rhythm or ideas, I literally finished the entire game in 4 hours on hard. Sonic Team rehash junks of assets in previous instalments without blending them into a frankly laughable story, Generations did a better job in the remade classic levels. I will have more thoughts over the next couple hours.
Any questions?
By joefu Go To PostSonic 06 bad? I can't image another game being that bad lol. Are the load times and stuff horrible?
I would say it's more disappointing and unfinished than Sonic 06, outside a fantastic music selection the quality is similar. The load times are decent on the Nintendo Switch
I was planning to buy this Day 1 because I loved Generations, but man, does it look bad. I'd rather wait a few months and grab it on Steam sale for ~10 euros. It's like everything wrong about Sonic rolled into one game.

I definitely recommend skipping the game, because it will just depress you further with the baffling design ideas and lame story.
Sonic Forces review by Polygon http://bit.ly/2zlNzrx
Sonic Forces creators' good intentions and interesting ideas don't amount to much in a game so clumsy and limited in design. It certainly doesn't help that Forces follows right on the heels of Sonic Mania, a game that not only demonstrated a more focused design sensibility but also did a far better job of realizing its creators' ambitions. Forces may have had a larger budget than Mania, but it feels like the poorer creation all around. Unless your dearest dream has always been to play a Sonic game as your own original fan art character, Sonic Forces doesn't have much to offer.
Bond I tried to save a friend some money and told him your impressions.
I think Sonic fans have Stockholm syndrome because he said he wanted to get it anyways because it's Sonic

It's funny because Sonic is not even in the game for a majority, literally replaced with generic avatars that add nothing. Fans are the only things keeping a once great franchise alive. and the bad thing is SEGA know this, but still puts no effort into the blur.
