The first game blew my fucking mind, but I hadn't watched the show yet so I don't know what kind of impact it would have. The games largely follow the same formula as the show.
Haven’t played them but I believe walking dead games and the borderlands one are considered their best.

Honestly the game medium seems more entertaining. The show is basically a plot rerun each season with a fresh coat of paint.

It's a pretty nice little narrative and lead character they've put together.

Season 1 is pretty great, 400 Days is worth trying out if you get it alongside the main game, but otherwise it's not that special. Season 2 pales in comparison to the first one, but is still a good time on its own. Michonne was boring for me, I would recommend to get it only if you end up liking the other seasons and even then wait for a discount. Haven't played the New Frontier yet.

The Wolf Among Us might be the best. The way they portray that story and that whole world is outstanding from beginning to end, and way better than I was expecting going in.
Walking Dead Season 2 was kinda so-so. Haven't played 3.
