I've gotten three seperate emails from different departments in university. They are on damage control.
In the wake of the survivor impact statements and the immediate aftermath in the MSU community, we are feeling a wide range of emotions. As we stand together in support of those who spoke out and those whose stories remain untold, there is a tremendous amount of grief and pain that we feel for the survivors and their families. Their courage and strength gives us the inspiration and resolve to begin anew and rebuild the trust that will foster a commitment to listen, to hold one another accountable, and to create a more just and responsive community.
While the pain we feel can never approach that being endured by the survivors, I know that many of you are not only grieving as human beings, but also because you have come to MSU specifically to pursue a profession that is dedicated to healing and to protecting others from harm. I want to assure all of you that now and in the future the Graduate School will listen to you, will support you, and will advocate on behalf of your well-being, learning and research.
I am profoundly saddened and heart-broken by the harm and suffering inflicted on the survivors by the despicable actions of Larry Nassar. I can only imagine the pain that the survivors and their families have endured and continue to experience. I admire and am grateful for their courage in bringing this tragedy to light.
We all feel the shock, disbelief, shame, and sorrow in coming to grips with the fact that something this horrendous and of this scope happened within our MSU community. Now is the time to take strength and inspiration from the survivors and honor their bravery by working together to mend our community, rebuild trust, and learn from our failures.
My priority in the coming weeks is to work collaboratively within the college and with the other deans to begin anew and rebuild the trust that will foster a commitment to listen, to hold one another accountable, and to create a more just and responsive community.
As we continue to listen to the stories of the survivors, we need to attend to the well-being of all members of our community. Please check in with each other regularly, support each other, and take advantage of on-campus counseling services and resources that are available to you. I am also here to listen.
We as a university have entered a period of transition and change. We share the anguish so many of you have expressed that anyone associated with MSU could do so much harm. We are truly sorry for the abuse Larry Nassar inflicted on young people entrusted to our care. The survivor impact statements and community that grew between them as they found their voices are models for us.
The MSU community is grieving in many ways, and MSU itself is in the midst of a leadership transition that will change our culture. We draw inspiration from your leadership as students and from the courageous words of the survivors who stood up and spoke to seek justice. We must draw on their strength and your leadership as we undertake the difficult work ahead together.
As we listen to one another in the days and weeks to come, know that there are resources on campus for support. We have included links to some below. But the best resources we have are our relationships with one another, and our commitment to help each other find the support we need.
During this important time of change, we join the voices of the survivors, and your voices, so we can act together to build a culture of responsibility, safety, and respect.
Just being spammed bullshit.

Got another e-mail, this time from the chair of the board:
Certainly a different message from a week ago:
But this is just the beginning. We acknowledge that there have been failures at MSU, not only in our processes and operations, but in our culture, and we are united in our determination to take all necessary steps to begin a new day and to change the environment at the university. The Board has initiated action to bring in an independent third-party to perform a top-to-bottom review of all our processes relating to health and safety, in every area of the university, and to provide recommendations that we will implement to change the culture of MSU on this important issue.
Certainly a different message from a week ago:
The Board hired external legal counsel to assist MSU in responding to the Nassar allegations and specifically instructed them that if they find any evidence during their ongoing engagement that anyone at MSU other than Nassar knew of Nassar's criminal behavior and did anything to conceal or facilitate it, then that evidence of criminal conduct will be reported immediately to appropriate law enforcement authorities and the Board will be informed.
In a recent letter to the Michigan State Attorney General, MSU's external counsel, including former U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, underscored those clear instructions from the Board and stated that, ". . . the evidence will show that no MSU official believed that Nassar committed sexual abuse prior to newspaper reports in the summer of 2016."

The number of known sexual abuse victims of former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar has grown to 265, a Michigan judge has said.
And that's just ones identified by name.

I'm of the pretty brutal opinion anyone who sheltered or abetted this dude in anyway should be chucked into a bottomless pit. At the end of the day it's not just the predatory asshole at fault. It's all these enablers. There's bound to be many more Nassars because of it. Just takes one sick fuck and then dozens around him to allow this shit to continue. In some ways I find the enablers more fucked up than the predatory asshole, just kept sending kids into the wolves den because money and pure selfishness. When someone shows their priorities are that fucking out of line, they don't deserve to be involved in any decision making, ever again.

Lamison is among nine women — eight African Americans and one Asian American — who have told The Washington Post that Cirrincione made unwanted sexual advances toward them over a period of two decades. Several said they viewed Cirrincione, who is white, as an important gatekeeper for black actresses in an industry notoriously difficult to break into — one whose path is even more narrow for minorities. They said he took advantage of that dynamic to prey upon young women of color seeking an entry into Hollywood.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/bill-ted-star-alex-winter-says-he-was-sexually-abused-as-a-child-star-1081204
lex Winter, the star of '80s hit Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure opposite Keanu Reeves, has admitted that he was sexually abused as a child star in the 1970s, and says he didn’t talk about it because he thought it was a “potentially dangerous secret.”
Speaking to Adrian Chiles on BBC 5 Live, Winter said that the impact on him a young boy was “hellish” and that he suffered from a “massive form of something, which turned out to be post-traumatic stress disorder.”
“That was evident to me while I was still in my teens,” he said. “And so I began to do work on it. But it really took time, and it really wasn’t in my case, I would say, ’til well into my 30s, that I was really able to do heavy lifting on this stuff.”
Winter didn’t go public at the time, he says, because “there is a power dynamic that does put you in a position where you’re afraid for your own safety. So there’s that, on top of the taboo nature of being public.”
Winter explained that the “lightbulb” moment in terms of talking about what had happened came over the last year, since the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke, saying he never thought he’d ever discuss it with the media.
Uma Thurman finally told her story.
It's a must read article and she reveals that Tarantino knew about Weinstein's behaviour and talks about an accident during the filming of Kill Bill where she was forced by Tarantino to drive a car she felt it had been messed with after being tipped off by a crew member and that it ended up in a crash.
Tarantino finally gave her the footage of the accident after she had been asking him for it for 15 years.
Fuck Weinstein and fuck Tarantino.
Yes, Uma Thurman is mad.
She has been raped. She has been sexually assaulted. She has been mangled in hot steel. She has been betrayed and gaslighted by those she trusted.
And we’re not talking about her role as the blood-spattered bride in “Kill Bill.” We’re talking about a world that is just as cutthroat, amoral, vindictive and misogynistic as any Quentin Tarantino hellscape.
We’re talking about Hollywood, where even an avenging angel has a hard time getting respect, much less bloody satisfaction.
“I am one of the reasons that a young girl would walk into his room alone, the way I did. Quentin used Harvey as the executive producer of ‘Kill Bill,’ a movie that symbolizes female empowerment. And all these lambs walked into slaughter because they were convinced nobody rises to such a position who would do something illegal to you, but they do.”
Thurman stresses that Creative Artists Agency, her former agency, was connected to Weinstein’s predatory behavior. It has since issued a public apology. “I stand as both a person who was subjected to it and a person who was then also part of the cloud cover, so that’s a super weird split to have,” she says.
The first “attack,” she says, came not long after in Weinstein’s suite at the Savoy Hotel in London. “It was such a bat to the head. He pushed me down. He tried to shove himself on me. He tried to expose himself. He did all kinds of unpleasant things. But he didn’t actually put his back into it and force me. You’re like an animal wriggling away, like a lizard. I was doing anything I could to get the train back on the track. My track. Not his track.”

Fuck Weinstein and fuck Tarantino.
I've only seen the car chase part of Death Proof. After seeing Uma's footage, he must have been inspired to have that extended sequence with a stunt performer.
Had a feeling Tarantino was a real piece of shit before any of this. Confirmed as even bigger piece of shit than I initially thought. Fuck him.
Just watched the vid, dude and Harvey definitely wanted her to wind up eating a tree. I don't buy the "just careless" angle one bit obviously.

Larry Nassar boasted that people called him "the body whisperer" because of his close connections with his patients, according to a 2014 police report.
"Most of the time my eyes are closed ... Use the force, you feel it," Nassar told a detective investigating him after a young woman said he sexually abused her. "It is a conceptual thing. It is you, the patient, and the spirit."
Nassar's comment came as part of a Michigan State University Police report looking into Amanda Thomashow's claim that he sexually assaulted her in March 2014.

Nassar said this was a normal procedure that he performed on everyone, whether 10 years old or 84 years old, according to the police report. He brought his computer to the police interview and showed the detective videos in which he performs the procedure, which he claimed could fix any number of physical injuries.
"I can fix their rib by touching their bottom," he claimed, according to the police report.
In Michigan State University's Title IX investigation, Nassar said that he had a PowerPoint presentation dedicated to the procedure. One of the slides contained "Star Trek" images and was entitled, "Pelvic floor: Where no man has gone before," according to the Title IX report.

In that incident Miller took pictures of a 12-year-old girl in a dressing room, WBTV reported.Dude like this should just be insta-prison for a long ass time. What do people think this type of shitbird is going to do, not escalate?
He was only charged with a misdemeanor and didn’t serve jail time for the 2012 offense.

Barstool CEO Erika Nardini has repeatedly and recently stressed that the company—which recently asked a potential employee to sign away their right to be offended by certain things—has a “zero tolerance policy” for harassment in the workplace. I asked her if a boss filming his employee naked and posting it on the internet would qualify as harassment. She hasn’t answered. I put the same question to Mike Kerns, head of digital for the Chernin Group, which owns Barstool and recently invested another $15 million in the company. He hasn’t answered.
And Portnoy's response is... more harassment, this time to the Deadspin article author:

I don't understand how that website got fresh $15mil in funding. The website sucks. The content is awful. Who's consuming this shit? I should've gone full scumbag long ago, smh, at least I'd be rich.
I hope that guy whom they filmed nude in the shower without his consent sues the shit out of them and has help. It's a completely clear case of workplace sexual harassment (id go so far as to call it assault I really don't play this shit) and should land these guys on their ass out in the cold.
Barstool is popping. ESPN was trying to be friends w/ them.
I've never checked out any of their sports content but their Instagram pages are nice (Barstool Smokeshows and then a bunch of random school specific Barstool accounts)

A California state assemblywoman who rose to national prominence as a campaigner against sexual assault is now herself accused of misconduct.
The state legislature is investigating Democrat Cristina Garcia, who featured in a Time magazine profile of #MeToo victims last year.
Ms Garcia denies groping another lawmaker's male aide and attempting to fondle a lobbyist.
She said she would take a leave of absence during the inquiry.

According to the suit, “White sent sexually explicit and graphic images to Zawaideh of engorged and erect penises, forced her to watch sexually disturbing videos, including videos sexualizing human fecal matter, and made vulgar sexual remarks to her such as, ‘Don’t forget to suck his balls!’ when commenting on her boyfriend. At one point, White stuck his hands down his pants, approached Zawaideh, and stuck his hands in her face trying to make her smell them.” The offending texts sent by White also included arguably racist, explicit images of black men. The complaint further alleged that an intoxicated White attempted to kiss Zawaideh at a Halloween party in October 2010; “Another time, White put his buttocks directly in Zawaideh’s face. Still another time, White grabbed Zawaideh’s buttocks shortly after leaving practice for the day.”what a fine gentleman...
The filing additionally stated that, “As the financier of Bad Things, White used his role to imposed a strict regime over Zawaideh, going so far as to demand that she cut her hair, wear sexually revealing clothes and underwear, and refrain from wearing red lipstick—her own personal signature.”
