Videos of new features (cut him some slack, he's trying his best):
Very interested in the underlap instruction. Position marking is also a godsend. Fuck having to micro-manage that shit for every opponent formation change.
By FlutterPuffs Go To Postfucks sake why did you remind me the beta's not out yet.Soon. I'm hoping to do enough work this week so that I won't have to do anything this weekend for the first time in months.
Now I'm depressed.
By inky Go To PostVery interested in the underlap instruction.Yeah, add that with 'close down less', 'short passing' 'play deeper' 'pass into space' and it's the best imitation of Mou's tactic with United.

By noal Go To PostShall a make a thread for FM 2009?
CM 03/04 or bust.
I know 01/02 was even more favoured, but I was LTTP.
01/02 was my first. Would have been earlier but my step-dad didn't believe that PC's were for gaming "That's why you have a playstation". Played the shit out of LMA manager.

I'll take it that's a negative then...
First CM game was the first one on the Amiga I think but I played loads on my Spectrum in the mid 80's. Including one called Football Manager..
Thought you would enjoy the shot with Coventry in mate. 😙
How would I enjoy a pictorial representation of our fall from grace? Now Villa losing to Manfield, that makes my pussy wet.
How's everyone doing? I'm liking it tbh. Lots of QOL improvements, like specific player instructions, indirect free kick assignments, in depth space analysis, more surfaced information about players and pre-match meetings & future opposition scouting/trends. I hate that they change the positional ability/morale icons every single time. but I'l get used to it.
Already uninstalled FM17

Something interesting I found, Pogba has a recurring hamstring problem and at a high risk injury if he is given too much training + matches. Kinda fits what is going on tbh.
So why the mixed rating in Steam? They forgot to put in the chinese translation again or is it a mixed bag?
By Patitoloco Go To PostSo why the mixed rating in Steam? They forgot to put in the chinese translation again or is it a mixed bag?The beta is sluggish with a hell lot of bugs.
Feel it's harder now though. Trying to manage United as a manager with no prior experience and it really makes you feel like a newbie.
'The positive atmosphere in the locker room disappeared as you walked in'
fuck
The only thing I really do not like so far, is the tactics screen during matches. Feels way harder to get a good overview over things. But I am liking it so far. HSV are going to win the league.

fuck
But I appreciate that it's harder, I was already breezing past my rivals in FM 2017.

I was shit at FM2017. I really really struggle with the tactical side of things; amount of instructions for team and players always seems to lead to disjointed shit. pls help
Need to really get stuck in, been rushing things atm because its all a little overwhelming. Gonna take my time and really work hard on it. Will download all kits and faces and shit first, that usually helps me immerse better.
By Patitoloco Go To PostSo why the mixed rating in Steam? They forgot to put in the chinese translation again or is it a mixed bag?Steam reviews for FM are almost always negative. People feel like the game doesn't move forward much with each new instalment.
I played a few more hours last night but only went as far as finishing pre-season. Then the game crashed when I went to sell Ashley Young. It does feel harder to manage and motivate players, but it also felt a bit easier to influence play with drastic formation changes. I know it was a marketing point, but defending AI does feel slightly improved too. I need a full season to confirm a anyway.

I cannot let you do that Inky
And Vincenti has won it…
By n8 dogg Go To PostI am so fucking shit at this game. My tactics NEVER work.
Do it like Moyes; as many crosses as humanly possible.
HSV was a good way to get to know the new features. But now the real FM dream has started.
I am going to make a team full of borderline animals. Such a shame Costa left.

Harambe looks miles better than my attempt at Shepard :(
I can't find the image I used to make Geralt in FM17. It was pretty sick.

Think I just had my favourite game ever over the ten games I've been playing. There's been more fun games or better results - beating Chelsea 8-0 at the Bridge, winning 6-5 at the Etihad with Middlesbrough - but it's always been with someone else's tactics and I've done very little in the match. I just won this and really feel like it was my win.
Set up my tactics - 4-3-3 (De Gea; Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Blind; Matic, Herrera, Pogba; Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Rashford) with Herrera man-marking Modric and hitting them on the break. Low pass completion rate but Pogba kept finding Rashford in the channels and he eventually crossed it in for Lukaku. Then Pogba thundercunt.
About the hour mark, I was under severe pressure. Switched to a 3-4-3 and improvised my tactics on the fly, brought on Lingard and Darmian. Had Darmian and Valencia at WB man-marking the strikers (Ronaldo and Benzema at this point when Madrid shifted into a 4-4-2), Lingard and Rashford wide man-marking Isco and Asensio and restricted Madrid to just long range shots.
It really feels like I had a real impact on the result. Mad scenes.
