SLAENT PLAYSTATION TROPHY THREAD | WE SHALL ALL BE FOUND AN ASS.
“Who knows' himself a braggart, let him fear this, for it will come to pass that every braggart shall be found an ass.”
― William Shakespeare, The Complete Works
A simple thread for those of us that strive for more in our games than our fellow plebeians. A place for those that want to die 100 times in a game for a lousy bronze. A place where we can change the date on our systems to unlock a trophy and not feel guilty about it. A place of brother and sisterhood, all with the common goal of getting that elusive plat or 100% through any means necessary.
Post what you're working on. Let us know if you need help. Post the trophies you're most proud of. Post your shame. Tape measure/ruler is not provided. If you feel the need to belittle anyone, stop, think about why you feel that way, and if you don't change your mind, leave.

Still working on Friday the 13th: The Game. I must get the platinum trophy for it. I'm proud of earning the Platinum in Hotline Miami 1-2 and Geometry Wars 3. Tough games to get all the trophies. I try to not let trophies sway me towards playing a game longer than I normally would, but alas I fail 90% of the time. They're addicting.
Lost my groove months back and dropped FFXII:ZA despite only needing the trials trophy left.
Destiny 2 was platinumed without even trying, that was truly underwhelming considering I've yet to plat D1 after thousand hrs (Flawless raider b damned).
Looking to rekindle the trophy addict in me with AC:Origins and Evil Within 2 hopefully.

By Hassou Tobi Go To PostLost my groove months back and dropped FFXII:ZA despite only needing the trials trophy left.I'll be going for Zodiac Age once I finish my blind playthrough. I never played back on PS2 and didn't want to spoil anything by looking at trophies.

So, how do you gals/guys usually tackle these things? First playthrough blind or straight to a guide? For me it really depends on the game. If it's a remaster or remake and I've already played the game I'll use a guide, if it's new to me I'll play once blind and then, if I like the game enough, I'll go back through and try for the 100%.
Is it blasphemous to say that ever since achievements went to the larger pictures, I have enjoyed trophies more? It seems once achievements became background pictures, the people in charge of making those images got lazy.
My last Platinum was Titanfall 2. I played through once and enjoyed it enough to want to go for Platinum, and then I looked at a guide. I hardly look first.

I hardly look first.I need to go back and play it on the hardest difficulty. It's a really good game but that training area speed run, I think I tried maybe 50 times before giving up. Too hard for me.

Shyts tough. And they made it only worth bronze trophy . I was hot.
By s y Go To PostI've platinum'd KH2FM+, Horizon and Racthet and Clank. I might go for the Bloodborne platinum.Oh you should definitely go for the Bloodborne plat. You might get a sweet theme out of it also. I got the theme a good year after I got the plat but I don't know if they're still giving those out.
Was tryin to plat Wolfenstein before the sequel arrived but it’s been hard to force myself through the collectables. Everything else is done so it’s not the difficulty, it’s just really time consuming and right now I’d rather be on my switch when that time is available. But I’ll get it eventually, and it will be my 19th plat. Maybe W2 will be my 20th.
I used to be in a trophy level competition with a friend that made me feel more motivated, but they got PSVR which dumped a ton of easy trophies in their lap, so I gave up trying to keep up lol.

I remember a time when I used to boost trophies/achievements with random people. I mean I still like hunting for trophies and all but I guess I don't care enough anymore for collectibles and mp trophies these days.
I got one plat and am 1-2 troohies away from another 2 or 3. Trophies are great though. I do end up getting some replay value out of them, but it's never enough for me to fully commit lol
By truck jewelry Go To Postyou got 50 plats? damn i have 3 and one of them took me about a year and a half (fallout 3)Yeah a lot of them i enjoyed the game so I just went for it. I am ashamed I have a couple which i grinded but didnt have fun with, and of course I rented Terminator Salvation back in the day lol.
Here are the platinums I have. There are a few cases where I've 'earned' the platinum for a cross-platform game like sound shapes

This community is godsent. I've never been a trophy hunter but I've been increasingly conscious of the amount that I have. It's a bit embarrassing now to see that I don't even make an effort in some games and I feel like I definitely need to do a better job now so thanks for this OP

Nice collection. We share a couple in common. Here's mine. I was pretty active on the PSNProfiles forums and competed in a "get as many trophies as you can in one day" event which is why I have those top 4 all from the same day, but I have no shame:

If I like a game enough I'll probably replay it anyway but going for certain goals I wouldn't normally do is a pretty good incentive for me.
By s y Go To PostI might go for the Bloodborne platinum. If you decide to go for this, after the deluge of Holiday titles coming out, hit me up. This has come and gone and come and gone again on my "List of Things to Do." I only need the following trophies and have made some progress through the Labyrinth ( I can't remember how far but past Rom).
Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen
Hunter's Essence
Oh, and since it's the cool thing to do in this thread, here's my Gamer Card.

Souls and Skyrim platinums. very nice.
Too much time investment for me to ever pursue those lol
By Bishop89 Go To PostNice selection. What on earth is my name is Mayo lol.oh you don't know about the mayo? oh boy. Worst "game" ever. 99 cents to tap on a jar of mayo for about an hour. the sad part is I've done it twice. Once on PS4 and again on Vita. So much shame.

I'm playing through Amnesia: The Dark Descent for the second time tonight to try and get all of the notes and tinderboxes. Even knowing when shit is going to go down this game is scary has hell. It's good though. I'll play Justine and War of the Machine Pigs or whatever it's called next week or so.

I was just watching my gauntlet run video and reminiscing how good the game was. It must've took me 500 tries before succeeding. My only advice is to watch different people vids, try to adopt and mimic what they did in parts rather than the whole thing. It can be impossible trying to replicate someone else's successful run, and you gotta focus on your strength.
This was mine.
By Mole Go To PostReading this thread has me damn ashamed lol, i only have two plats which are Horizon and Witcher 3.
Witcher 3 plat is impressive though. More than any of mine at least.

this actually got me to finally finish Dark Souls 3 and i somehow got the most complicated ending
the platinum is Tekken 7 which is piss easy to do

Just got a Collar x Mallice plat and now working on Danganronpa 3 which shouldn’t be too hard to get if it’s anything like the previous two. I’ve been on a VN binge lately.
angelgrievous, was just peeking at your trophy/game list.
God I thought I had played a lot of games. You eclipse me lol.

This is what I did. Eventually you get a rhythm and it's like how the hell am I doing this. I think it took me a whole day or a significant amount of time.
Woke up a bit earlier than I expected this morning so I knocked out the last two missions I needed in Chaos Theory for the Platinum.
Game is broken as shit on Expert.
Here's everything I've played over the last year and a half....
Got rid of the PS4 a year ago to focus on the backlog and because I planned on getting a Pro at some point.

I'm stuck on European Extreme Harrier fight and I can't get past it. I've watched videos and try to mimic what I see but It's tough and probably not even the hardest part. I'll get to 4 again at some point.

MGS2 and Shadow of the Colossus are definitely #1 and #2 for me.
By Smokey Go To PostI admire you tbh. I couldn't do it.I hadn't played a single game this year since finishing Afrika last December. Only just started a few weeks ago getting back into the swing of things.
Probably get a Pro for Red Dead, but I do want to play Horizon, Resident Evil 7, Wolfenstein 2, Rime, Uncharted DLC, Edith Finch and Mario and Zelda.
By Bishop89 Go To Postangelgrievous, was just peeking at your trophy/game list.Yeah, I wish I could finish half the games I play but I always move onto something else. Maybe one day I'll get through my backlog but it's not very likely.

I just went through another playthrough of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, using a guide, and still didn't get the tinderbox trophy. I'm super pissed right now. Good thing I don't have a basement.
Got the plat in the Amnesia Colletion. Wasn't too bad given its a pretty good game. Also finished up the plat run in Under Defeat HD.
How you doing wall?

By Bishop89 Go To PostAmnesia would be hard for me, I'm too much of a wimp :PIt get's pretty tense at some points but overall I'd say it's not too bad. Although I don't scare easily. In VR it might be a bit much though.
