I keep seeing people saying "Kawhi gonna to LA" and it really bothers me because there's more than one team in LA... You guys gotta specify.

Spurs being petty. But having lived through the Vince Carter trade, I get it.
Former Spur Kawhi Leonard ain't shit
Hopefully Derozans mental health is ok , he must be hurt
I think raptors trade Leonard at the all star break

Yikes, DeRozan is hurt bigtime about it.
meanwhile, on Danny Green's IG
somewhere exists the most awkward phone call conversation in the history of man:
Timmy Duncan trying convince Kawhi to stay.
Tim: " stay"
Kawhi: " *awkward grunt**"

You're not a cali boy though.

Half the time is better than no time at all. Toronto is indeed a gorgeous city, but fuck me if I gotta live there for 7 months out of the year.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostI don’t understand what OKC are going to do with a Dennis Schroeder. What, did Russ go to them and say “I’m branching out! Get me a guy that looks like he could be my backup dancer.”He's a an unreliable starting PG at best, and a pretty solid defender with help behind him no matter what. If he's your Raymond Felton replacement, you're making a significant upgrade.
I also never want to understate how bad Carmelo was for OKC last year. It actually made me appreciate Roberson and I've been shitting on that guy for years now. Melo was actually worse on offense in the playoffs. Even when he was hitting, I've never seen a guy derail an offense that didn't actually exist. Every possession where Utah forced the ball into his hands was a complete victory. Getting rid of him alone is huge, but upgrading through unloading his corpse is a huge swing for OKC.
Grant, Noel, Schroeder, PG byke.... they gonna be a problem lol
By livefromkyoto Go To PostHe needs to learn from Lebron and just use the Lakers for his retirement tour. The way the Lakers treated Kobe keeps paying off for them.Seriously. And with DeMar and all those NBA players upset by the trade Jeanie is a genius for giving Kobe that contract.

okc coming up
not sure about the source
i think it would actually be a great basketball move--but there's nothing to suggest that OKC would be willing to pay the massive tax bill, which is the primary reason for moving Melo, not his play
By DY_nasty Go To PostAny team that takes Melo gets instantly worse so this is a bad deal for Atlanta.

Great gamble by Ujiri. Toronto is the type of low-key destination (at least by NBA standards) that seems like a perfect fit for Leonard and his personality. If he doesn't resign, Ujiri expedites the rebuilding process by a year. It's a win/win.
Now they've got to trade Lowry. Van Fleet and Wright offer more than enough depth at that position.

Also, Norman Powell, who I was hoping they'd get rid of to the Spurs but Jakob isn't a big loss either imo.

Powell isn't a lost cause, yet. I think he's redeemable, and he'll get his chance now that DeRozan is gone.

Kawhi is going to shock the world, fire his uncle, appear in a Drake music video (as a mannequin), and sign a long term deal with Toronto.
In the immortal words of Draymond Green, "What, you thought you was Kobe?!"
One day, after he dawns the purple and gold, people will be saying, "What, you thought you was Kawhi?!"

I was going to go with 5. Makes in January and March, misses in November, December, and April.
By knux-future Go To PostI just want Ben to…idk…ACTUALLY TAKE THEM before even caring about the FG%.
FT percentage always tells a good bit of the story--which is why Lonzo is fucked. Ben should try but...he's got such a ways to go.
I'm offended on behalf of Raptor nation. ESPN had a caption on screen "Raptors legend T-Mac comments on Kawhi trade."
That fucker didn't win shit and skipped town as soon as he could. "Raptors legend." Don't hold that, Toronto. A little more self-dignity, please.
