Graphic novel recommendation
Hi, I have a "secret Santa" kind of gift to make. The gift is for a girl who loves reading, loves Star Wars and also is into illustration.
I don't think she has read a lot or any graphic novels so I think it's a good in between choice.
Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations :)

Hellboy.

e: This Library Edition is a hardcover and has sketches and concepts and such included with the original comics. This is also a series known for it's unique art style. It is a little darker than Star Wars but has lots of humor throughout to keep it a bit more lighthearted than you would think.

Saga would be a good choice. Beautiful illustrations and its themes and setting are not unlike Star Wars.
Thanks guys. Should have mentioned my budget is around $20.

Thank me later
You should track it down for yourself. It's one of the best gn every written and no one outside the hardcore comic nerds knows about it

I ended up buying the Darth Vader one. Thanks lads
Edit: O crap, this is for a woman. I was gonna recommend Killing Joke at first. Ha ha, WHOOPS!
In that case, here's a comic with a male protag but the plot is really about all the women. If she likes Michonne from TWD, she'll dig Agent 355.
Almost ANY of the AvP comics, but you can begin with WAR. Machiko Noguchi is so badass, she makes Ripley look more like Newt. Seriously, a woman so raw that she earns her keep as part of the Predator tribe by kicking their butts all over the place.
A recommendation that I have yet to read myself, but I hear it's good.
A safe choice, and a classic. It's in black and white though.

Also, while looking at options I found Batman Year 100 or something like that. It looked rad. Anyone read it?
By Splatt Go To PostI enjoyed Marvel's Darth Vader 2015 series, maybe that?

My first thought after reading the OP
By Apollo Go To PostMr. Marvel is overrated as fuck
Like I said, I have not read it myself.

NO
The only acceptable comic with "Batman" and the number "1" appearing in the title is YEAR ONE, and it is excellent.
But if you get YEAR ONE, you gotta get Long Halloween too unless you hate her.
By no fun allowed Go To PostFreddy Lombard. It's basically Tintin for adults.
