By domino Go To PostI do have car and health insurance. Fortunate thereDunn about how it works in your state, but your car insurance should pay for any damage caused by the crash. Typically you should have a liability section that covers it up to ~$20M

Damn Domino i'm glad you're okay. I've been in about 3 accidents in my life (was never the driver) that were all relatively minor. The first totaled a car but both of us were okay, I was a kid. Second was a rear ender on a main street in town because someone was following too close, that car needed a bumper repair. Third was bullshit merging on i5 and the guy in the left most lane decided to speed up like a dickbag we basically side slammed into him. While it sucks to have been in that many I'm glad none were particularly serious.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostI had to google that. Da fuck you think I know about basketball?Sorry, meant to add a "lakers joke disclaimer".
Oh, and domino, don't be afraid to call in sick tomorrow. Shock etc can take a while to really hit you.
It sounds crazy but I swear every so often I'll just get like a weird muscle spasm and seizing in my chest that I attribute to those accidents. Only last seconds but it feels just like the first time.
By Kibner Go To PostFacebook again asking me if I want to relocate to Seattle. They want to setup a phone call for next week. I definitely do not want to relocate there, but may as well talk to them to keep my options open.Where are you living now?
If its an interesting move career-wise, you should do it. Specially if you Already own a house. You can always come back there if things don't go as wanted.
Look at it as a break/adventure

It would be equal parts more and less interesting. I would work on something different than what I do now, but also have much less freedom in how I do things.
Glad you good domino. Been in 2 accidents myself. Not fun at all. Is it too early to know of the car is totaled?

Kibner - I'd take a look at the opportunity. You own your home and stuff already, making a jump to FB would fill your pockets even more (I'm assuming). I'm sure you wouldn't have to live in Seattle proper either? And iirc this is them coming back to you after you turned them down once? Seems to me they have a real interest in you, which you could use to drive the price up even more, if you were to relocate.

By s y Go To PostYou work for Facebook? No. I work for a small software development company right now. They hand me a client with a problem and I do all the software work.
I guess I need to figure out a dollar figure that would be enticing enough for me to leave behind family and friends (and watching their young ones grow), home cooking, Pelicans games, living on a river with few people around me (which I really enjoy), and no guarantee on having a remote job available to me when moving back a few years later.

highway wrecks are what i worry most about just due to the speed.
By DY_nasty Go To Postoh and yeah definitely take some time off work man
takes a few days for your spine to wake up
weirdly enough my back actually feels better than it did before. my left shoulder ate most of it since i hit on driver side. neck is kind of tight but i guess thats to be expected.

its toast. i got out of the ambulance to look at it and other than the back half of it, it was totally unrecognizable. it was only worth like 3800 anyway according to my tags at least. i was going to just run it in the ground for another 2 years.

I love that episode of Father Ted
You gotta pay for that wall too? Damn. What car was that, how much did it cost you and please detail your experience regarding it's reliability.

In my mind I mixed up Father Ted and Better Off Ted. Never seen Father Ted before
06 Lancer. Got it in 2010 for Xmas for a little under 10k. Solid whip really. Few repairs needed since I got it
Insurance covers up to 50k property damage so I guess the wall would fall under that.

Yeah it's done. Thankfully you weren't one of the cool kids who think seat belts are a waste of time.
i cant imagine what would've happened if i didnt have on my seatbelt.
when i climbed out of my car somehow my backpack and sunglasses (from my face) were in that yard behind the wall.

Debating whether I want to pay an extra $45 a month for gigabit internet. I currently get 50/25. The only thing I can see me doing to take advantage of it is Game Pass on the XB1.
