By GQman2121 Go To PostThere's a certain point of cold where the numbers don't even matter.
yeah once it gets under 15 for me i cant tell anymore.
edit: kicking a soccer ball that's been in your trunk in this cold weather is a terrible idea. lesson learned.
It's gonna be in the low 70's today in California. There's may be some rain next week. It was cold this morning though. Maybe the high 40's.
By s y Go To PostHow does that even happen?Presumably forgot to put the grade thingy on the end of a buzzer

By Hitch Go To PostDunno, where are you supposed to start?I'd assume the front or the sides.
Not the dead center of the back of your head.

i'm over here thinking about what i'm going to do in march, whether its take another assignment or just straight up quit and she's like "whenever you want to come back home baby"
I guarantee she's already told my church that I'm due back any day now and lined me up a job where I ain't gotta do shit but smile

By s y Go To PostHow do people who regularly endure sub 50 degree weather…….live? The city and everything is designed for it. The same way northern cities / countries can't deal with any temp over 30c.
Houses have heated floors, heated toilet seats, heated towel racks. You have approrpiate jumpers and shoes. And rooms to take wet shit off in. All the shops are built for it too.
By giririsss Go To PostHouses have heated floors, heated toilet seats, heated towel racks. You have approrpiate jumpers and shoes. And rooms to take wet shit off in. All the shops are built for it too.Yeah none of this is standard in the US.
Does heating cost less in areas where you need it on all the time? The optimist in me says it must be, but then I remember how the world works and figure that it probably costs more, if anything
In the US it's just "shit must be provided" but barely any regulation on gouging consumers. Or nary a care if the shit is even up to decent standards. It's why a Baltimore teacher has a gofundme for a space heater for her classroom.

How deal in Hawaii? It’s not super hot there Inguess
I really have no idea how to be sick. It's the weirdest blend of restlessness and lethargy.
Also, I'm a bitch so I can't let people see me like this. I feel like I've been laughing at myself for weeks.
I've been in 4 different spots since I've been here and only one had decent centralized air conditioning. I wouldn't even consider it luxury either. Didn't even like it.
Also carpets are pointless. Never knew that before. I don't think I've seen any outside of a bedroom or bathroom now that I think of it...

By Fenderputty url=How deal in Hawaii? It’s not super hot there InguessIts generally always perfect unless you live in one of the valleys/jungles that has the perfect bubble of hellish humidity. Its tiny, but the weather can change a lot just by driving a few miles.

I generally hate humidity and heat but found this inaccurate Kauai. There were some times I wanted air, but As long as your place gets a breeze you just open windows and turn on a ceiling fan.

Worth mentioning that acclimating here was a bitch at first. When I first got in, I felt constantly drenched. I'd take a shower, but feel soaked hours after the fact still. I barely even use lotion now.
I get both a lot. And even humidity with out the heat. And humidity is the killer, not heat.
As said above, on hot days breeze and a fan and you're fine. PC runs a bit hot. That's about it.
But even humidity on it's own, and you're just dead.
And yeah, Carpet is generally useless, terrible for allergies, and no where near as clean as you think. I plan to take it out of every room in my next place and just put down rugs. Even in the bedrooms.

Hardwood flooring already installed in a house you're looking at is awesome. Been around a carpet that was taken out that was decades old. The smell and the dirt. Just ugh. Never dealing with that again.
I love those girls that repost shit on Facebook all the time about how theyre like not serious about going out and they cancel plans all the time yolo
but then if you cancel on them its like you just called them fat and ugly
