I personally think it's cool as hell that Showtime gave Lynch carte blanche to do whatever he felt like for 18 hours.
It's been ridiculous and tedious at times, but I've enjoyed this more than anything on TV since The Young Pope.

By Fenderputty Go To PostNah 45% of the season is basically 28 minutes and episode captain hyperbole.Between filler material, opening credits and music performances you have around 25 minutes per hour that was unnecessary.
Opening Credits: 3 min
Song: 5 min
So you're telling me each episode is fulled with 17-20 minutes of filler material? Maybe a couple episodes ...
I'm with you on episode 8 being a bunch of filler

By Fenderputty Go To PostOpening Credits: 3 minNo. But in total if you take the whole season as "one" thing. I do think around 35-45% of it was filler.

Anyway, I only hope the season takes flight from now on and stops wasting time
By Rhaegar Jergaryen Go To PostEpisode 8 might be the most important episode of the whole series tho
I don't disagree. I just felt like some of the surreal stuff was dragged out. The 5 minute shot panning over the vast ocean leading to the tower. The giant climbing stairs for 5 minutes. The atomic bomb molecule interpretation could have been halved.
This is the best season of television I've seen in a long time. There's no filler, it's just the show.
Was the "3" "15" theory correct? Seems like we may have him back?!?!?!?!
Jeffries is a smoke stack in the black lodge?
Seems like they closed up two story arcs with Ed / Norma and The Log Lady.

Also who is the kid in the end? And Lucy. Who is Lucy.
What's he supposed to do when Bowie died so suddenly?
By Fenderputty Go To PostWhat's he supposed to do when Bowie died so suddenly?a fucking silhouette in a chair would have made more sense

He's awake ... we just have to wait until next episode for us to actually get some Coop in our veins.

You think he was kind of trapped in Dougie this whole time seeing everything happen?

The theory seems to be about "time" and how it works in the lodges. We can see this with the Jeffries plot lines. Jeffries actually questions if he's talking to Cooper in Gordon's dream, but that isn't possible if time is perfectly linear. Cooper hadn't even been to twin peaks yet at this point.
The theory is that we're watching two timelines. Kinda like Westworld. Everything regarding Gordon, Dianne and evil coop is current. Everything regarding Dougie is 10 days prior to current working it's way up. The theory postulates that Cooper's body was sent back in time 10 days before his actual consciousness is. Lynch gave us an easter egg for when we can expect his return. The socket cooper is sent through in episode three at one point reads "3" and then at another reads "15". People have picked up on this and figured that 3 would be when he comes back in body form (dougie) and episode 15 would be when his mind returns to him. Obviously last nights scene was pretty big if you've subscribed to this theory at all.
The door that Mr C. walks through is "8". I'm pretty sure that's also in reference to the episode number again, though that's just me thinking.
I definitely think he's back. Just before the scene we saw the log lady describe death as a transition. I figured that's a nice way of saying that in the following scene Dougie just died when sticking that fork in the socket and Cooper will be what's left. Technically comes back in 15.
So does that mean the timeline is caught up when Coop returns?
I caught the transition thing but thought it had to do more with her dying in real life

Could be a dual meaning I suppose. Could be that this theory is total shit lol. WHO KNOWS!?!?!?!
I believe he should now be caught up if the messed up time theory is accurate. Even if the theory isn't totally correct, it is apparent time in the lodges isn't like it is in reality.

Cooper back!
I don't even mind that it's taken this long. The drawn out process made it that much sweeter when he finally reappeared. I was grinning like an idiot.

He even gave us a "finally". My wife and I were like, "you're fuckin damn right finally."
Great episode. Cooper's return. Audrey waking up. Mr.C killing his rape child. Dianne the doppelgänger. The Mitchum bros going to Washington.
I thought the Horne brother was going to steal the car. Lol
Was that ball left after Dianne a different color from gold?
That shootout was fucking hilarious

What the hell was going on at the end with Audrey though
There's been a theory out there that she's been in a coma/some mentally incapacitated state since the show last aired 25 years ago. That was her waking from her coma or mentally incapacitated state. Why she was in all white when she woke. The Dance was her becoming herself again. It hasn't been confirmed, but her husband in name only has been theorized to be her therapist.
What is odd, is that it appears "eddie" exists both in her dream state and in the real life Twin Peaks.

Maybe something happened to her after she had the kid?
Great episode. Coop is back!
By Fenderputty Go To PostI'm erasing most of what's happened and just pretending it ended with episode 16 ….I was constantly looking at the time of how many minutes I had left to see, I dunno what the hell they thought.
What a shame. The entire season is just weird.
Alot of flaws, alot of weird decisions, alot of great moments. I dunno, it's just a really fucking weird conclusion overall.
And I rather have no special effects than some of those we had to see.
I loved it, but I can see why people would be annoyed with the finale. I only realised with 10 minutes to go they hadn't wrapped up the Audrey storyline in a traditional sense
Yep that was incredible, can't wait to watch it again

They left more hanging story arcs than any show I've ever watched. All while spending entirely too much time with music, drawn out smoking, drinking and sweeping sections.
They spent 10 too many episodes giving us doungie and building the characters around him only to cast the arc away in the first 3 minutes of the finale. The Mitchum bros went to twin peaks for a one liner after seeing a directors acid trip.
Mr C spent all season trying to find the white lodge, for what? The firefighter ruined his plans and sent him to the sheriffs Station with zero issues.
I had fun with season three. There were some great moments for sure. There's a ton of missed potential, a ton of the arcs fell flat and you can go fuck your self for ending and 25 year cliff hanger with another cliffhanger.

I havent seen twin peaks but from the sounds of it completing story arcs isnt necessarily its bag anyway, right? Sorta transcends narrative?

Sure but the sheer amount of shit ignored in season three feels like a whole new level of no fucks given.
Some of the closures were terrible too. Every new character this season introduced got like 3 minutes in the final two episodes. If they were so inconsequential to the show why make me sit through 15 fucking episodes of character building these people.
So much filler. Even the end was filler. I'm reading lynch fans talk about how terrifying the end was. It wasn't. The car ride was putting me to sleep like Laura Palmer
