Ep7 was the closest thing to old Twin Peaks. Ep8 was the opposite of it.
What a mind fuck and nonsense from Lynch. This is why we can't have nice things

I only got that they tried to explain where BOB came from. Which was clearly not necessary. not to mention that now the whole thing is not even related to Twin Peaks but to a nuclear test in New Mexico. And now BOB is a fucking bug who gets inside the host by going into his/hers fucking mouth; not longer a spirit/entity like it was showed in the last two seasons.
Aside from that, I guess the GIANT and the fat lady were in the White Lodge. I don't think I got anything more than that from the episode.
Lynch is too into his own arse.
Can't be bothered currently, besides there are already plenty of people that made some pretty good points elsewhere.
However, I suggest you take a look at the missing pieces if you haven't done that.

I've binge watched the first two season and the first 7 episodes of this season. I will say that season three has been disappointing in ways to me. Cooper made the first two seasons for me. His attitude, passion and love for what he does really made everything click for me. All of the odd stuff and all of the story arcs are fun, but Cooper is who I rallied behind. I don't feel I'm alone in this. It's evident that even characters in the show feel the same way about Coop. Watching "evil coop" and "can't tie my own shoes coop" has been a major drag for me.
Not sure if this is covered in episode 8, but Richard Horne being the bastard rape child of Evil Copp and Audry Horne is some twisted shit brehs.
EDIT: To clarify this is a theory. Richard Horne is about the right age for it to work. It would also explain why he has the "horne" last name.

I should clarify that it's a theory and not actually something that's confirmed. It just makes sense given the info we have.
I thought episode 8 was interesting, but I also felt like there was a ton of filler. Like why did the atomic bomb particle effect have to last like 5 minutes. Why did the camera panning over the dark ocean that then leads to the tower take 5 minutes? A full NIN song in the middle of the show? Lyrics that may have meaning but aren't clear? Why do I have to watch the giant walk up stairs for 5 minutes? I felt like all of the artistic messaging and shit could have been done in about half the time.
So far episode 7 & 9 are my favorite. I really enjoyed some of the music coming back in 9. It gave the episode a more original feel.
Another thing I"m not sure sure I like about this season. If you couldn't get the dwarf to come back, why not CGI him in or, get a similar looking dwarf? The CGI tree brain thing is so random as a replacement.

He's said a lot of nasty things about Lynch, and I don't blame him for not asking him back or even using a likeness.

I mean, I get why you don't have him back. I heard about the shit he pulled. No need to turn a dwarf into a brain tree though. If I didnt go online I'm not sure I wouldn't have ever put 2 and 2 together lol.

Could say that about everything Lynch has done
nah. he was a very important character. It was very weird decision to replace him with a fucking tree. Should have recasted him
Poor episode.
Some dots connected for some characters, but overall just alot of scenes that weren't necessary or could have been placed differently along with other scenes.
And I'm really getting pissed off by the musical acts at the end of the episodes.
You've got fucking Twitter Lynch, if you want to show of what you like, do it on Twitter or elsewhere. Otherwise integrated it offscreen into scenes or have a real meaning for these songs.

Lynch's delivery of "he's dead" couldn't have been any funnier.
Starting to wonder if we'll see the old Cooper at all this season. Although I'm enjoying the Dougie stuff more than I would have thought.

Copper is going to be eating Pie and drinking coffee at the end of the season when they find someone dead and he has to get to work. They've already set up the bar as being shady

By KingGondo Go To PostIs there going to be more after this season? Not 100% sure but from memory this season is the final one.

Only thing left is the other guy in Vegas who ordered Ike the spike and the other insurance guy who tried to set up Dougie.
So in one or two episodes we should see Dougie moving along.
By Elchele Go To PostI don't mind Dougie but it's a shame we won't get a full season of agent Dale Cooper :(
The last two episodes have been the best Dougie episodes. The floundering arms during sex and the entire scene with the Mtchum bros (my favorite new characters) was fantastic, including the bar at the end with the piano playing old school season 2 song themes where he smashed two pieces of pie. In fact, this last episode was the best Dougie episode period. It's also had a lot of the old feel to it recently. I'm still missing coop though.
Regarding the note Hawk found and the discussion about fire with Truman and Log Lady. Was the last episode the night of the day they found the note, or was it the day after? They found the note after talking to the Major's wife but it was day and they were in the station in the evening. I'm trying to figure out an episode for when we will get to the coordinates.
Also ... curious about your guys thoughts on Candy. Seems to be theory going around that she's like copper in that her brain is scrambled from leaving the black lodge. People thinking it could be Annie.
Also the lack of any mention of Donna is kinda weird. Even if to just let us know where she is.
I think we'll either get a good 4 episodes of Cooper or he will come back at the very end of the season. The Dougie stuff is almost over. Evil Coop is on the run.
Think Donna is dead. Died in the motorcycle accident James had.
Hope we don't see James ever again
Give me Annie tho
Surprised appearance or something. It would be so good

I suppose we might get an explanation on Pete and his brother when Audrey appears, but generally there are still quite a few missing.
Catherine, Ed (even with his gas farm mentioned), Dick Tremayne, Eileen Hayward (so we won't get an explanation on her and Benjamin either).
Let's just hope we'll never see or hear John Justice Wheeler.
I think Lynch & Frost are just pissed after what the actress pulled off back in the day, and there aren't that many stories to close with the character Donna either.
Donna is pointless, as is James.
We have Annie who wasn't even casted back, who was a key character in the season finale. I mean, if they don't address that, why should they even mention the other ones

Annie wasn't even mentioned in that TP book by Mark Frost, so either it was intentional or they just don't care.

Big Ed will show up, obviously. Norma is not getting much of time because of Annie I guess. And because there's nothing else for her to add aside from Annie.
Can't believe the last season ended in "How's Annie?" and then it doesn't matter lol
Yeah Ed missing is also a let down. Again ... just let me know in passing what happened to him. The Nadine / Norma sightings have me at least wondering. Especially with the way season two ended with Nadine getting her old memory back. James got a cameo in like the first two or three episodes I thought. I gotta imagine he's not going to just smile at Shelly Johnson from a distance and will reappear at some point.
Annie should matter at some point ... thought I don't think her character will be a cameo or anything. Apparently Graham wasn't even contacted for a part.

He got out of retirement to play his character again and was at the SDCC. So he will appear at one point.
By Fenderputty Go To PostSweet. It's all just gossip and shit and there hasn't been anything confirmed, other than scheduling conflics back in the days of the movie.
What did Boyle do after the fist two season that pissed Lynch off?
Supposedly Fenn and Boyle didn't get along that well, and she wasn't so keen to see her boyfriend (MacLachlan) at the time having a romance with Fenn(Audrey) on screen.
I mean the official thing that Audrey seemed to young for Coop was a bit of a weird answer, considering that Annie didn't seem older, her actress was 19, compared to Fenn who was like 25 or 26?
Generally there seemed to be alot of conflicts.
For a character that has no lose ends with nearly everything being already told, it's not the biggest loss.
