WTF... KP could've swatted that but it looked like he just didn't. Either he got fooled by Kuz's grandma game or he just let him have that.
By noonecares Go To PostGreat size but yeah, really underwhelming athlete, not a lot of bounce. Can't create much outside of the post, can't shoot worth dick and he's never beating anyone off the dribble. Real strong though, fwiw. The biggest thing I see after watching his tape is he was BADLY miscast as a #1/#2 option his last year in college. Dude is a role player and nothing more, it reminds me of when the Nuggets were using Faried seemingly as the main big on the team. He just didn't have the skillset to support all that usage.
I used to be a believer, but he's just not that good

JESUS CHRIST LOOK AT THOSE FUNDAMENTALS!!!
... Like Tommy Beer said it's gonna be hard for impatient Knicks fans watching DSJ and Monk ball out while Frank spends the whole year trying to reach 24 minutes a game.

By diehard Go To Postimpatience is literally the reason why the Knicks arent goodI thought it was because of Phil Jackson?
.. but yeah, I still imagine after the 2015-2016 season what would've happened if they didn't trade for Rose and massively overpay Noah while getting rid of Lopez (wasn't making alot) and Grant. Would've been in a much better financial situation and Carmelo's value would be higher.

By Kibner Go To PostPacers filed a formal complaint against the Lakers for tampering with Paul George:lmao
get the fuck outta here
Prophet Magic called it 6 years ago.
I mean, Magic had to leave the Lakers organization last year because he was constantly "unintentionally" tampering on social and other forms of media. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/16138773/los-angeles-lakers-remove-magic-johnson-honorary-title-vice-president

Johnson sold his ownership stake in the Lakers in 2010. He has been known to tweet about other players, particularly free agents, which did not always sit well with others around the league.

that's a lot of work he's got ahead of him
His release is slow af, too.
It's fine when you're Giannis and have Mr Fantastic arm reach but not when you're a PG.

Would be cool to see someone hit for tampering but George having his agent put out a message can't really be blamed on LA

By reilo Go To PostHis release is slow af, too.He kinda does a little (nowhere as much as Giannis doe)... but yeah he needs to speed up everything. The Carlos Beltran comp I gave in June is still there; he's a glider who doesn't really have good acceleration but seems to get to where he needs to be. Can't really rely on that all the time and be giving tells with your feet, especially when defenders dog you fullcourt. He'll experience that lesson in training camp.

I'm not saying you don't want Frank practicing his pull up game. But always practicing going one way seems ... bad. Can he shoot from 3?

By giririsss Go To PostI'm not saying you don't want Frank practicing his pull up game. But always practicing going one way seems … bad. Can he shoot from 3?Its a short clip of a part of a longer shooting drill. He's probably being told to catch and pull up headed a certain direction. The issue is how he's doing it ie with zero fluidity and obvious balance issues. also his dribble is cringe as fuck but there's no way to make a guy realize that long fucking arms and a hesi makes you unguardable. you just gotta know
^this isn't a curry showcase or anything, i'm posting it more to show what a damned good shooting drill is supposed to do/look like as well as how it not only enforces good habits, but makes it abruptly clear to the athlete what he needs to correct as its going on.
well that too, but forcing players to take their first step in different directions means you're beating them over the head with the balance stick. for guys who don't understand, value, or consciously consider their gathers leading into a shot, the drill will make you think
a lot of talented guys never have to. because they can close their eyes and the ball goes in, shits simple - but that in itself isn't all that rare. there are plenty of players that will casually throw the ball in from anywhere on the court but doing so often leads to horrendous, crippling habits that are feasted on at high levels.
i'm not sure what frank's starting point or floor level is within his training, so i can't say more but its still really.... well, its hard to be comfortable about him. i've literally never seen a project pg like that.

those drills are definitely for a scoring point guard, or anybody that will have the ball in their hands. The Spurs run actually run a shooting drill where you never dribble more than once.

Once of the things the scouts liked about him is his work ethic (hardest worker of the PGs) and ability to fix issues. He used to be a terrible shooter and he managed to become a above average distance shooter in roughly a year, once he gets his pocket picked and worked like Chalmers did to Jeremy Lin he can work on that. One definite issue even besides his footwork is his handle tends to get high... I mean that's just a product of concentration.

I still think he is a SG who can pass really well (Like Batum), which was cool when they drafted him because they needed a SG who could shoot and pass besides their bigs. Now they have Hardaway so its gonna be a longer development cycle.
They will need to luck up into a Point Forward like Luka Doncic who could make a lineup of 2 SG's who have 3pt range a strength. If not its going to in a best case scenario be a glut at SG.

Guy is still growing but his development obviously hasn't kept pace with where he's at. He's a young dude, but he's got a fuckton of irking habits jump off the screen. Most are fixable but still...
Regarding shooting, I don't think the shooting label on young guys needs to be thrown around like this - especially on the back of something like one good year according to the numbers. A hot year isn't rare, its a product of a system (or at least requires context), and things like game speed and defenses play a huge part. I'm never too keen on it. Its different if they have a godform like Beal or something (which is kinda funny because he was catching tons of shit for not having the numbers to match) but when they don't its kinda lacking meaning.
I'm not hating on Frank yet but its hard to be confident.
