Ok playing some more Smash Bros and I've established that there are jump buttons and attack buttons and EVERYONE is out to get me.
More news as I get it.
More news as I get it.
Watching some Smash Bros basics tutorials on YouTube and it is now clear to me that I have not played a fighting game since the mid 90s.
I am. I just want to have a little more control over the outcome. Some games I get loads of KOs but don't even know why and vice versa.
The only part I didn't like about that was you had to wait or something to challenge them again, just too many characters in the game for all that.

Yeah, I mean you can just do WoL to unlock most (all?) of them, but whatever. I still don't have everybody.
My wife is getting me a Switch this Christmas despite our better judgement and my bad experience of owning a Wii U.
I just couldn't resist Smash Bros. I think we are also getting FIFA 19 or Mario Party and I am going to borrow Super Mario Odyssey of a friend.
I don't get much time to play games in front of the TV these days so I will probably play this in handheld mode more often than not.
I have almost completely ignored the Switch since it launched so any tips or advice of games to get/avoid would be good. I tried looking on metacritic but that site was running so slow I just fucked it off. I will probably give fortnight a go and pick up a few indy titles that I missed on PC.
I would have eventually bought this for the new Metroid so hopefully that isn't too far off. I heard a rumour from a friend who has been to Japan that it is going to be called Metroid: Other M 2 "Another M". I can't wait.

Steamworld Dig 2
Golf Story
Darkest Dungeon
Dragonquest Builders
Also it's confirmed to be Metroid Prime 4
By Laboured Go To PostSteamworld Dig 2 is fucken gr8yes! top 3 game last year.
If you like jrpg's, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is solid.
See if someone you know has Splatoon 2 and give that a shot.
Picross games are fun little puzzle time wasters.

By Nelo Ice Go To PostSo Smash is a system seller among friends and family. Know 2 friends that are buying switches solely for Smash. And I brought just my undocked switch to a family party last night and everyone who didn’t have a switch wanted one after playing Smash on it.
One of my cousins was like I’m gonna buy one next week lol.
nelo becoming an exclusive switch gamer :(

I played Zelda on the Wii U. It was great.
I also played Steamworld Dig 1 but I preferred Steamworld Heist.
Will check out the others.
Thats a shame about Metroid. Did you know if you swapped the name Other M around it goes
Other M
M Other
Mother!
Genius.
Little fact there for you. You don't have to thank me.

I couldn't get into Xenoblade 1 unfortunatly.
I will give Splatoon a shot but I am worried that it will remind me that I need to paint my hallway.
Yeah I like Picross and had a couple of them on the 3DS. Will probably pick those up eventually.
Thanks for the suggestions.
This gris game is getting good reviews
If you like musou games, Fire Emblem Warriors was good fun, and so is Hyrule Warriors if you never played.
Yeah I enjoyed Hyrule Warriors. It was good fun. I appreciated how they introduced new characters with massive boobs into the Zelda world.
By Diego! Go To PostI played Zelda on the Wii U. It was great.Steamworld dig 1 and 2 are very different games, not mechanically but going from randomly generated to (well) designed levels is like night and day.

Yeah, I'm not sure it needed to last almost 20 hours. I rushed to the end too lol. Doubt I'll ever get around to 100%ing it.
By Doncicic Go To Posti did everything but the fight where you unlock sonic.
Man has to have principles.
These Smash controls feel bad. Biggest annoyance is making the minor changes with analog stick to change basic attack direction to face the enemy.
Any hacks on how to do that easily more consistently?

Think it's an input lag thing. The input lag is astonishingly high for a 60fps game.

A little of this.

I think I've got it now. Basically...felt like I was needing to cover like three feet everytime I moved--was having trouble making very precise small moves and facing the direction I wanted to attack. I guess it's just taking practice--I see how it works now. Very sensitive.

Gamecube controller it's a little better, but I still do a full run by accident sometimes.

As I said above input lag is a problem and for some reason the GC pad has the lowest input lag.
I keep forgetting to change my controls so up doesn't jump. I can't do any up tilts because of that lol
By Kibner Go To PostI just moved tilts to the right analog stick because I can't do them otherwise. :vI think I need to do that instead. I feel like when I try to tilt, I smash sometimes. So rather just move to c stick
By Laboured Go To PostAre tilt attacks generally used to chip away at health? #Beginnernot really, they're just different types of attacks, generally quicker than smash attacks and can kill when people are high enough percent.
By Kibner Go To PostI just moved tilts to the right analog stick because I can't do them otherwise. :vYeah I heard Zero uses right stick for tilt and turns on A+B for smash attacks. Also he said use the dpad for shield to mash out of stuff. I tried that and I like taunting too much in local multi lol. But I imagine it’s useful online.
been using cstick for tilts and smash attacks with a+direction, literally wonder how I survived before
also tilts are like medium range attacks, theyre definitely very dangerous if used right. snake's up tilt for example is 100% a kill at high percentages and its so fast

Bought a Switch last weekend with Smash and MK8. Ordered Odyssey as a Christmas present for myself. Any recommendations for games or even accessories? I tried the MH Generations demo because I liked World, but fuck me that is some janky shit.
botw, mario party, diablo, skyrim, bayonetta, xenoblade
theres also some good eshop games like okami, celeste, grim fandango, katamari, etc.

By Xpike Go To Postbeen using cstick for tilts and smash attacks with a+direction, literally wonder how I survived beforeSnake actually has a near guaranteed kill setup now since his downthrow changed. At 110%+ you can jab combo immediately, and at 160%+ you can uptilt immediately, likely killing all but the heaviest characters.
