also a host left and it just killed the game completely? So no host mitigation?
Yeah, with the way this game works idk how easy host migration would be, but I'm not really up to date on current stands of MP networking tech as I'm an SP person normally.

Yup, 4 player co-op PvE shooter. Do objectives etc. then extract.
In a weird way it's less arcadey than it initially looks:
- You die quickly
- But you do a lot of damage and have a lot of weapons at your disposal
- All enemies can be blown to various little pieces and all of it is physics driven
- Gun handling, hit reaction and movement is excellent
- Cool stuff like bullet physics, messing around with gun fire rates, managing ammo per magazine, managing recoil with crouch or prone
- Mission objectives (such as sending off a nuke) actually require co-operative action and input
- Gud ping system

I loved the original one. Sense of humor to it. You have a lot of over-the-top weapons and abilities and it is trivially easy to kill your teammates and yourself.

By Dazenheimer Go To PostIt does have a specific kind of look.The environment's effects on the gameplay is the best part so far. In DRG ice levels have random snow storms but that's about it. In Helldivers, snow and ice can really fuck you while you're running brok a charger. and the fog reminds me a little of that Mad Max game
Get on it gents, especially on Angel's Venture.

I think it's caused some issues for about 1 in 150 users.
Other than that there are theoretical concerns but nothing that has actually happened. The devs have also said that it fully uninstalls when you uninstall the game and it is only active when playing.
PSA: Your strategem grenades can stick onto bugs up to and including when their corpse goes flying into your group and you receive an unscheduled orbital strike to your cranium.

You can play solo but it's very hard past like the "easy" levels. Honestly all randoms I've been matchmade with have all been really cool and co-operative and you get very few dickheads with mics (which you can just mute anyway as this has a ping system).

You basically get various resources from doing missions and those various resources each let you unlock various gear / strategems / upgrades to strategems / miscellaneous stuff like banners and emotes.

Each mission completed increases the % dominance on a planet, and I think if you complete on higher difficulies it contributes a higher %. But also if missions aren't being completed then the enemies start to dominate it.

It is entirely possible to win the war collectively and it is entirely possible to lose it. Idk how long each war goes on for in HD1 but maybe Kibs can say.

i don't think the game has "an end". you just go around killing bugs and completing missions until you get bored. i think you just get bonus resources and such when a war ends that you can spend to unlock new gear and upgrade existing gear so you can take on harder missions that are likely even more of a spectacle.
