Mr. Musk said on X, the social media site he owns, that Tesla would slow down construction of new charging stations and increase its “focus on 100% uptime and expansion of existing locations.”The one thing standing in the way of mass EV adoption...

By diehard Go To PostI think they actually just gave those jobs to lower paid employees in MunichFrom what i read, It was an experienced 10 man team all in the same office (that was understaffed), and the fired all 10 of them.
They may now force that responsibility onto others, which is typically how restructuring goes. Then those others run out of time to do anything properly, old job + new job, and ... you end up trying to get those guys back.
N.B. I'm not following all of the firings in the US super closely, too many, too depressing, and chunks seem very short sighted.

That was a tiny team that were basically Google employed maintainers for an open source project -- which I am surprised they even had. Probably a holdover from "old" pre-Alphabet Google.
This was a 500-person department for an extremely important differentiator that was on course to become the industry standard with recent adoption by GM and Ford. It doesn't make any sense.

Also underpins huge chunks of youtube.
The public facing maintaining / contribution to the open source was more out of corporate convenience, a lot of those were bug request by google themselves.
That said, tesla's super chargers were/are their biggest bright spot. A lot of the other charger companies seemed to be falling / failing too. I don't get it. But I don't get a lot of the moves being made / done there. Very little of it makes any sense at all. Surely the charging part of the business was the eternal source of profit for them.
By Pac-2 Go To PostIf you didn't try to apply logic and reason to it, would that help? No.
But I'm also trying to stop slandering people.
I played around with it for the trial. They force the update and it replaces basic autopilot I use in traffic. Which sucks
You have to be attentive as a mother fucker. It takes corner too tightly sometimes and was gonna hit a curb until I intervened. Ditto for a traffic cone. It doesn’t move over lanes early enough to exit freeways. It’s required me to intervene on the exists and the interchanges. If it makes a turn into a multiple lan street, it never turn into the lane it should. Like if I was to make a right turn and then in a couple blocks make a left, it never turns into the left lane when turning right and then struggles getting over in time.
Needless to say I have stopped using it.

Having children is literally not free, especially in America. We were billed $10,000 and insurance covered all of it
Multiple doctor visits throughout the process before the baby is born, then when they’re born you have to feed them. Clothes, diapers
I think I could have a monthly sub to game pass, ps+ premium, and every premium tier for the streaming services and still spend less money a month than I do on diapers

By reilo Go To PostThat GIF needs to be updated to 2024 because the newer generation will be like "yes, it does?"Would also be nice if it was more than 10 frames
Dude is ducking child support payments and in the throes of a heated custody battle and he's really talking that shit lol ok.

Nothing ever happens to these dickheads
The supercharger network is literally the best thing they did that gave them a network effect and customer lock-in. It is a step above the rest.
But if Elon sells it just because they need cash on hand that'd be hilariously short sighted.
Bro, we'll pay you to buy our car. Deal or no deal?
The fuck you mean "will the car work?"
Warranty? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. Will you take the car or not? It doesn't matter, it's in your driveway.

He’s rehiring some of the supercharger staff and changing course …
This seemingly supports the theory that he reacted to push back by the former director not wanting to lay off 15% of the team. So he just fires them all only to realize that’s an incredibly stupid idea
